Is220D Lack Of Power After Head Gasket Warranty Job

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum but have read through a lot of threads and like what I see :), I've just had my car in for the dreaded head gasket failure, car was nearly 7 years old with 74k on the clock so managed to get it done under warranty, it went fine and had a punch from the turbo when flooring it before it went to the garage, the problem is now I have the car back it seems to lack a bit of power, doesn't have the same punch when the turbo should cut in. It just feels a bit sluggish, starts and runs fine just a lack of go, the garage said they had 'updated' the ECU, anyone else had this problem? thanks for any replies in advance :)

I thinks this has been mentioned before, the ECU has te relearn engine settings and this takes a few hundred miles to adjust, give it a bit longer before getting too concerned. The job will be warranted so if it doesn't improve go back to Lexus with it.
