Repalcement Boot Lid Gas Struts

Recommended Posts

Hi All

We have a 2006 RX400h and the two gas struts on the boot lid need replacing but we're having problems finding a part number to get a pair ordered. The only label on them it written in Japanese so we've no idea if the numbers are hidden in there.

We hoped that somebody here might be able to help (fingers crossed).

This boot lid is automated, not sure if this makes a difference.

Thanks

there are a couple of codes depending on specific age

68960-49185 (to 03/2007)

68960-49205 (04/2007 to 11/2008)

best to give your chassis number to your dealer to let them get the correct ones. They aren't cheap, probably around £150 each

Hello Andrew

If you decide not to have Lexus units you could look at this site www.sgs-engineering.com based in Derby. I brought a pair of struts for my previous Avensis, sensibly priced, easy to fit and worked a treat.

There is a difference in part code for vehicles with/without the power door. It is important to match the force correctly for the power door model otherwise the system may think there is an obstruction and fail to open/close correctly.
