Reversing Camera

Hi I've seen lots of post around this subject but just need confirmation about something.

Can I use the standard sat nav that came in my is200 ?

I'm fine about the wiring of the camera it self, but is it a case of simply plugging in the camera to the sat nav ?

it isn't that simple,The IS200 nav unit wasn't designed to have a reversing camera. You can tee into the video feed from the sat nav but you need to sync the video correctly, have a camera that has an inverted output, have a mechanism for switching the video source etc.

Ok thanks got the definitive answer. will have to replace the sat nav with a monitor that will work with a reverse camera. Any suggestions on what size / make of screen is the best option, minimum modification of the housing ?

Installed a reversing camera/ monitor in place on the standard sat nav, works a treat.

Well done mate...good job. If you can, do a write up and post it in the is200 'how to' guide area. I reckon a lot of is200 drivers will be interested in that.
