Is 220D: Problem With Computer / Electronic Stuff.

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I have a problem with my Lexus IS 220D 2007.

I was far away from country for a long time and my Lexus was out of doors all this time. After my come back I tried to run engine and my Battery died, so I charged it and tried once agian. Engine started, everything looked good, but all electronic stuff wasn't working. To be honest just the engine and day lights work. The rest of the lights, mirrors, windows, air-conditioning, radio blah blah blah... don't work.

Do you know what happened with my car?

Weather is rainy, so I think that could be a problem with wet parts or something.

Second question (see attachment).

What is it? This cable is not connected and I have no idea where should it be.

Cheers,

David

Hello and welcome to the LOC.

A common problem on some Lexus cars is the main alternator fuse failing when the Battery is flat/recharged/refitted.

It is normally located in the engine bay fusebox rated at 80A and may be labelled as the "Alternator fuse"

This fuse is not a straight plug in/out like other fuses so needs care when replacing.

So I would start with inspecting this fuse first and all the others.

Are you not a breakdown club member as these guys generally would be able to sort the problem?
