Hi to everyone in the club. I've just sold my IS220d and will be travelling the country next week hunting down an SC430.

Any tips on what to look out for things to test etc would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Si

If you can, get a facelift model with the 6-speed transmission. The SC is reliable, a common issue is standby Battery drain, potentially caused by the Stereo amp drawing power when the ignition is off or other reasons - not really sure how you can test for this when just viewing a vehicle.

Timing belt should be changed at 100,000 miles OR 10 years, whichever occurs first.

A member recently bought one and then discovered it was extremely rusty underneath so 1) don't buy that one and 2) check underneath as well as on top.

There is a topic on the rusty one somewhere in the SC forums.

Good luck in your search, feel free to post links to any you fancy and we'll give you feedback...finally Happy Christmas :)
