Gs300 Mk3 Vs Is250 Urban Mpg

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm new to lexus and looking for a car. I had my heart set on a is250
auto. I am now considering a mk3 gs300 aswell. Could someone please
tell me what the difference is in fuel consumption. My commute and other
journeys are 1 to 2 miles at a time through the day. So the engine is
doing all short journeys and then gets parked up for few hours until
the next. I do this a few times a day.

Thanks.

Hi George,

I commute daily to work on my Lexus IS250 Auto.

The journey is 2 miles from home and the engine doesn't usually reach its normal temperature before I park up at work or back home.

At the moment, I'm averaging 22mpg.

I have owned both and there is not much in it, and I would say on a longer journey the GS can get slightly better mpg. My opinion the IS250 is better looking but the GS300 has the superior comfort and power wise there isn't too much in it with the extra weight.
