Hi guys,

just a quick question. I've recently purchased a mk3 gs300. It's got 76k on the clock. the front discs and pads where changed by lexus at 66k which was 2 years ago. However the discs have a lip on them which seems quite bad to me and also the brakes are making a creaking noise. I'm thinking the front calipers may have gone as this is a known fault. It's booked in next week at lexus hatfield for a minor service and I'm sure they are going to bring this up.

My question is. Shall I have the calipers replaced by lexus or is there a caliper upgrade that i can buy elsewhere that won't mess up again in the near future. I know there are a few refurbs I can get like biggred and also eurocarparts do a pagid.

Regards Mal.

Hi that creaking noise is probably pads or discs problem, too hard or too soft material.

i have MK2 and i upgraded to MTEC drilled and grooved discs and Ferodo brake pads

no creaking

or other noises and pad dust on alloys

PS the mane caliper problem is to start binding brakes, probably your is fine
