Is200s Aftermarket Stereo(need Wiring Diagram)

Hey everyone, new to the forum.

Trying to install my new cd/dvd player and all i keep finding is instructions on how to install an aftermarket stereo to the se and sport models.

Don't have an amp in the is200s so I got an iso cable that fits most toyotas. My problem now is trying to wire it up. I've cut the iso cable and connected it to the original loom so as to stop me from butchering the cables in the original loom.

has anyone got links to the wiring for a 200s?

I've been searching online for about 4 hours and have read tonnes of topics regarding needing an amp bypass cable and even saw some pics/diagrams for these but none for the 200s.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Dave

I agree with Stevie, if you have the ISO then you dont need to cut anything.

I actually did because the cable that came with the new unit had loose wires(power connections) that needed to be crimped onto a new cable and i got the iso one because i didnt wanna butcher the original lexus cable.

thanks for the diagram. i'm gonna start on that now.

nice one

if it had lose wires then u could of got the standard iso from Halfords and connected the connecter you got with the stereo to that iso connector and then connected it to the block connector which connects to the car (as shown above by stevie) did that make sence? lol

what stereo did you get? i got one off eBay but i want a different one now lol

Seriously? better sound than the stock one?

I've had two of them units and i'd say they're awful for sound.

Do you get any alternator whine through the speakers?

Alternator whine is quite easy to sort out mate using ground loop isolaters :whistling:

Not that easy, i tried that with mine and it was still there! the earthing within the unit itself is ****.

As soon as i unplugged the stereo and replaced it with the alpine one the whine went immediately.

i got one of these systems in at the moment and getting not whine or anything and yes the sound is good (for me anyways) but i dont like the little shelf thing that sticks out where the buttons are and on the silvertech the touch screen controls are useless but you get alot for your money tho

i wouldnt recommend these. they can do more harm than good!!

all it does is surpress the gorund noise but you still have a bad earth..

bad earths can cause no end of electrical problems including blowing tracks on your HU..

an easy way to test if its a bad earth in the wiring or the HU is to run a lead form the Battery -ve to the ground on the HU.. if that solves it then just route it in..
