  1. Nice try... We know that you were there... ← Not guilty squire :winky:
  2. I agree with Mac. Did you see the van at the time?
  3. Pretty sure you need a club stand pass mate. Someone will confirm though
  4. Were there many people in chat last night? Who was the fake doris then?
  5. But if they are fitted they have to work. Like reversing lights - not a requirement, but if they are present and don't work your car will fail MOT.
  6. The cornerstone of any nutricious diet :D :P
  7. I haven't got a clue mate but I like the look of this.............. Carbon gubbins £38 ish
  8. Sounds like you were lucky mate. Just shows how accidents can happen. Smell was probably brake pads. The engine should be fine as the limiter would have been kicking in to prevent any damage. Just take it easy for a day or so to make sure the brakes are ok.
  9. Cheers Geoff - the magic of digital imaging :winky: Never trust anything you see LOL.
  10. I know who it is :winky: But I'm not telling :P
  11. It was taken on a 6 second exposure to get that effect - his car is quick, but not that quick :winky:
  12. Good turn out last night. Good to see you all. Pics are located here.....................
  13. Thanks guys for being patient with me and mike last night trying to arrnage the cars in a 'pretty fashion' It was diffucult having limited space and a "rubbish" vantage point for the camera :winky: Got some good shots - sorry I took so long - I was playing with aperture and shutter speed settings. I got around 20 pictures in the end. Here are some samples. (Not quite Hong Kong but we're getting there !!) The shots are very red as there was a light in the left hand side of the shot which bled into the frame on the long exposures - have to take my filters next time. I don't think they look too bad though - so here we go....................... The skip I was standing in was under me in this shot - the red one at the front is Mike's MR2 :P Everyone knew Adie's new turbo'd beast was quick but what happened next was just plain ridiculous.................... Thanks again guys - great turnout - good to meet some more new faces :)
  14. My uncle has an M Reg VW Passat - got electric windows and sun-roof. 1.9 n/a diesel so not blinding performance but gives 40-50mpg. It has now done 195,000 miles from new and still runs like a dream. Doesn't use a drop of oil at all and starts every time. It has been serviced according to the book. If he can get a VAG engine then the miles wont bother it at all as long as it's looked after. They bought a new A4 a couple of years ago and the garage offered them £400 trade in so they kept it and just run around the farm in it now. I had it for a couple of weeks after I trashed the last car. Was a shock going from 40mpg to 29mpg (but worth it :winky: ) Would something like that be an option?
  15. I have just put in Any Make; Diesel; Age up to 5 Years; Between £2k & £3k Mileage up to 60k on Autotrader and it has thrown this lot - food for thought? My parents had a late 306 Meridian HDi and that was loaded to the gills, leather, climate, 6 CD changer, etc etc etc.
  16. Just got this through on a Sky Newsflash on the laptop. A true comedy legend. "I want Fork Handles" :D
  17. 2nd week of december is my works crimbo do - i'm not confirmed on that yet though. 16,000 staff world-wide and 1500 places in november and 1500 in december. I was late sending my cheque too so I'll have to see. Can I suggest midlands somewhere though? Also - somewhere near-ish to a travel lodge or travel inn for those who will be staying over?
  18. Tony will say yes - he put in a thread somewhere about the random geo's on cars that all come out of the same factory. From all I have heard, Tony is a magician so should see you right. I know the IS's are renowned for inside tyre wall wear because they are not set up properly in the factory. Worth the initial wedge so you don't have to fork out on tyres after 2 months ! Tony will give you a proper answer though - I'm sure he'll be along shortly :)
