  1. I am kinda set on the range rover - i am aware of the inherent problems but will be getting one with a warranty. Probably gonna go for an HSE with a few toys - Vogue is nice but I haven't got pockets that deep ! I have booked a test drive for saturday so we'll see how i feel after that. I don't know what it is with the Lex, I have only had it for 9 months but i don't get a buzz when i get in it any more. People keep telling me it's a lovely car but it is just a carriage now, i might as well be driving a ford mondeo The Range Rover just has something about it. Nothing definate yet though - we shall see.
  2. Has anyone got any experience with Range Rovers? I am very very tempted with a 3.0D HSE/Vogue probably a couple of years old. I have always liked them but never really thought about one until yesterday. Went to have a look and am 99% sure I want one. Just wondered whether any of you chaps or chappettes have any stories to tell? I await the flack :winky:
  3. Not quite - bit different from last time though - fast track fit out so only an 18 week stint which isn't too bad, plus the fact the company is a shed load better anyway. Will give you a shout - i think Nottingham is about 30 miles from Lincoln centre? I need to go and see Aido too - the bellend can't drive at the mo due to his op.
  4. Gord is that far oooop north he doesn't just have a flat cap and a whippet, he owns the flat cap factory and breeds the hounds !! :winky:
  5. I will be working up there for 18 weeks or so from the end of the month. Be good to meet some other Lexus owners in the area to stop me going stirr crazy on my own !
  6. I beleive it is something that the manufacturer sends original software out in - never seen one mind :winky:
  7. No not by me. I picked her up from Lexus Cambridge with 20k on the clock nearly 12 months ago and she was only 2 years old then with full history and check. Never been battered (that I know of anyway)
  8. Old film - got it at home and the guy has some skill - was probably only doign 80mph in places but at the time it was fast. See below.... http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/magazine/3300.asp?id=11528
  9. The only wear was to the outsides, toe was 4deg out over the 2 front wheels (toe in both sides) I was a bit miffed that they had ot be changed actually as the middle and inner were 100%
  10. I have TomTom mobile on a Nokia 3230 but it isn't the correct version for the phone (I don't think). I havea fully fitted Nokia hands free in the car so the phone is always charged and the voice guidance of TomTom should come through the speaker - it does for 30 seconds after the phone has been 'live' but after that it doesn't want to know. Has anyone else got TomTom Mobile 5 running through a hands free successfully? Even better if it's on a 3230. If anyone would be willing to erm, 'exchange information' :winky: i would be appreciative.
  11. I think so - I don't think he looked at the camber, I left the car with him for the day to be honest and went back to work. The car feels a lot better now though. I need to pop down and see you at some point for a finite check. Wont be this month though - £250 on tyres, £270 on glasses, £200 on a stag weekend this saturday (plus spending money) Need to turn into a hermit for a few months !
  12. Not sure about other branches but went to the Huntingdon one last week for some new tyres and the chap there really knows his stuff. I've now got some Conti Sport II's on the front and he adjusted the toe at the same time, was way, way out (set up by Lexus too ) - Sorry Tony - bit too far to pop down to you during the week The new tyres are excellent - I'm just waiting to wear the rears now so i can have one on each corner. They feel so much better than the Potenza's. Get down there for some advice on tyres if you're anywhere near - cheaper than Krap Fit too.
  13. 4 of my friends have bikes. Suzuki GSX R (600) Yamaha R6 (600) Honda CBR RR (600) Ducati 999 (1000) Went on the back of the GSX R last weekend and 145mph later i wanted one - serious fun for around £3.5k including buying leathers and passing the Direct Access course to get the license. The GSX R and R6 were out together the other day and a brand new Porsche 911 Turbo tried to have a go. The GSX R cost £3.5k and the R6 was £2.8k - they wiped the floor with him and he was trying. Bikes are a different gravy altogether.
  14. Mike - when did you speak to him? I spoke to him last week and he didn't mention anything. Has it been a sudden thing? We all need a night out at some point soon - I'll have to come to nottinghamsheershire and it will be just like the old times :winky:
  15. Could have been a lot worse indeed. I reckon the tracking is a bit squiffy though Barrie, better get it down to Tony for a look In all seriousness though - sounds like a lucky escape was had and a valuable lesson was learned - he won't do it again in a hurry, damaged pride but nothing permanent. When I rolled the Cupra it slowed me down a lot.
  16. I think Aido is still wanting rid of his. I haven't spoken to him for a couple of weeks so don't know if anything has changed? I don't know whether Zee or Mike have spoken to him more recently? He's kinda disappeared off of the face of the earth.
  17. Mr Morse is - he will be along shortly ;)
  18. No, Zee looks more like Craaaaiiiiiiiiig David :winky:
  19. Is Mr Padden still about? I haven't spoken to him for a couple of weeks. Got Tracey's plate going on it so no worries there :winky:
  20. Howdy chaps and chapettes - been a while but I'm back :D Tracey's lupo has been sold and replaced with this 2.8 litre beast - pick it up on Saturday..... 56k on the clock with full BMW service history. Scared myself on the test drive !! :duh:
  21. Obviously I don't condone or endorse this but there will be a wire running from the switch to the handbrake light, i.e. when that light is lit, the switch is in and the DVD won't work. You will need to find the spur wire that runs from the switch to the DVD player and disconnect it if you wish to view your DVD's without the handbrake being applied.
  22. Friends have a 52" Fujitsu and it's awesome, best piccy quality I've seen for a long time. It even compares to my Toshiba 36" CRT which is impressive. Buy the best you can afford. Bear in mind what you want as a future set up though, i.e. how many scarts you want and what you want exactly from your system.
  23. Tis tonight @ 7.30pm Scruffy's 198 Derby Rd, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire NG7 1NQ Mike kinda lives opposite. Plenty of parking on the main road outside.
