  1. I opted for Conti's front and back.... When choosing the 18's we got to make the decision on tires. I'm running a couple of PSI higher than the recommended for 0-100 mph as i feel the car rides better.
  2. IS 250 SE-L MM Auto - We love it! Having owned to many cars over the last 7 years, it's lovely to have one that works as it should and is a lovely place to be sitting for all occasions. We had a minor rattle on the passenger side, popped in to be sorted. It was sorted, as was the unreported rear view mirror which rattled. The motor was cleaned and ready on time. Something that could never be said about POrsche and Jag!. I have no problem in recommending the IS 250 with Auto box. Just spec a set of 18's to finish off the look and enjoy. M
  3. Oh dear! i'm screwed then....... :winky:
  4. We'll take it! SA will be unsettled and arogant, and with all that sport on the telly.......... well i'll be divorced by Sunday :winky:
  5. I might try and see what i can do to change that lol! :shutit: We used to have all sorts of muppets on the Honda/Porsche and worst of all the VW forum!!! I first popped over here years ago with the joint Lexus / Honda Gaydon meet. had a few good chats with the Lexus boys when we met up. there is a certain coolness with the Lexus brand that i wasn't fully aware of until we got our first. that is why the board is chilled.......... when you know who you are and what you want, buy a lexus :winky:
  6. Our arms must be the same - I constantly do that too Wow! someone else who drags the knuckles on the floor :winky: I blame my laid back lexus driving style......
  7. Nothing worse than rusty nuts!! My Boxster was awful for rusty nuts, each time the motor got serviced the dealer would ask if they could replace them. at a cost of course!!! i would always mangage to end up getting them for free, but i'm sure they just hid the cost in something else...... not noticed any bother with the IS though.....
  8. Thanks ladies :D The time now freed up for Ironing is ideal :winky: I used Jim from Auto Perfection (based in stratford upon avon) = mobile 07884266696. i'll be booking up another visit once we're through winter. It's definetely done the job. We left the car parked under a tree all day saturday and most of yesterday in Oxford, it only took a 3 minute jet wash to get all the sap off! nice....... M
  9. LOL! not at all fella :winky: that's a good ting with forums, we all have our opinions :D the motor belonged to the finance manager for lexus oxford before we bought it. we reckon she'd used a drive through carwash everyday lol! it was covered (and you can still see some) spider scratches which looked awful on a sunny day. the difference is IMO mighty impressive and to be honest I HATE CLEANING motors! Hate hate hate :winky: i'd rather do the ironing than clean motors lol! the misses dropped me off in town on friday night, the lustre off the paint with the street lamps was top of the line. i know what you mean about new motors should have good paint, but the scratches were horrid.... it'll be cheaper for the next visit as not so much work should be required... now if you have some spare time, let me know and you can wax the motors :P
  10. I just get ****** everytime i pull up at a local toll bridge and always opening the rear window lol!!! bloody nightmare :tsktsk:
  11. i must add that the grey skys have not helped with that pic - but even after a couple of days of driving it's still looking spot on, hopefully it'll make things easier through the winter..
  12. The one above gives you an idea of the improvement with the work, the car is now ubber smooth....
  13. It was going to be £250 but it could now run upto £300 due to the useage and work involved. The guy reckoned it would be enough to see it through the winter, time will tell!!! I will be brutally honest and let you know what i really think once i get home from work tomorrow. I'm sure it's going to look great, as at the mo it's covered in swirl marks and bird **** lol... Neglected - no, just building up for the big clean :winky:
  14. At last! We've only had the Lexus for 6 months and covered some 14K miles, and at last i've got a slot to get the baby detailed! I got in contact with a guy through the Boxster forum some time ago, then got a call last week. So it's now booked up for a detailing session tomorrow, using swissvax products. I'll get some pics up after and hopefully be able to recommend the guy doing the work. Roll on tomorrow! Maybe some board pics at long last :winky: Matty
  15. Where you trying to turn it the wrong way or something :shutit: :winky: I've never heard of that before? Matty
  16. Is this just a fault with the 220D 'cos I don't have a problem with mine on the 250 SE-L, even with the ML on high volume. Surely the mirror design is the same?? The IS 220D courtesy car I drove certainly suffered from a vibrating mirror, as I couldn't see what was in the distance behind me even with all the ICE turned off. Across them all fella. Maybe they got to yours when you were asleep or something :winky:
  17. Same here! No more vibrations anywhere.... And we didn't even ask them to check the rear view mirror lol :winky:
  18. I've booked a detailing session for the Lexus next week, hopefully that'll see it through the winter....
  19. Wow! What service........ So the misses dropped the IS off at Lexus Oxford and then collected it after work. When you consider it only went in for the rattle they could not detect on the passenger side, I'm mighty impressed with what has been carried out. 1 - Passenger side B pillar taken apart and packed out = No more rattle 2 - The Rear View mirror no longer vibrates = They've not even discussed that, but it's fixed? 3 - Inside and out cleaned real good = nice All in all a completely different experience from what we've received from Porsche/VW/Audi, just wish they'd make a supa hot hatch for me... Matty
  20. Bit of a condradiction here! I would never use and automatic car wash - but you'll often see me lining up to have the local 'Jani's carwash' in Witney handwash the motors! Grit, scratches - surely not :shutit:
