  1. I think it mite just be that the shoes need adjusting a bit and a bit of grease applying to the back of the shoes so they don't rub against the back plate. Regards to the warranty issue, its a bit of a fine line if it is warranty or normal wear and tear. If a caliper was to seize solid after 20K, or there was bad juddering then that would be warranty but anything less would be hard to call. It would vary from dealer to dealer to be honest.
  2. The amp is located on one side of the boot under the autochanger. May want to check if you have a water in the corners of your boot floor as the boot seal used to leak on early LS's and can short out the amp. If it is sat in a pool of water than that is probably the problem :zee: , if not then the amp may be knackered anyway or it could be another dodgy radio. To be honest though the LS radios do tend to last really well and you don't get many problems with them. If it is the amp then they can be bought for about £180 +vat. Another option for the radio is to get someone to look at it. A company called Autosound do the repairs for Lexus at the moment but don't know how to get in touch with them i'm afraid.
  3. There are no issues with Mk1 diffs. They should last the life of the car. The only time they will "normally" get a problem is if the oil level is low in the diff itself and it is driven like that for a while. The bigger rear wheels don't have any adverse effect on the diff as it is over engineered to cope with a lot more power.
  4. Quite surprised how well it accelerates. Doesn't need wheelie bars exactly but quite pockey
  5. It is completely normal for the brakes to do that as they have some sort of "power brake" system, don't know the technical reasons for it, just know thats how it works :duh:
  6. Thanks, will bear in mind. Out of interest, do you know what the difference is between the LS and Celsior tanks? Cheers.... ← Sorry mate don't know what the difference is between the two, Lexus can't tell us the difference
  7. Hi Gecco, Would that be a picture of you, by any chance? :D The tank I'm referring to is the one between the relay/fuse box and the front suspension mount. Cheers, R ← It was taken on one of my better days The tank you need is the expansion tank, part number is: 16470-50012. Retail price is: £94.59+vat. Plus the Celsior tank is a different part number: 16470-50030 and retail is £75.54+vat but i doubt it will fit
  8. A Toyota dealer does not have access to the lexus order or parts recognition system so they would not be able to help you . They could get you a part number for Celsior tank but it might not fit your car. With regards to what youve been quoted £77+Vat is nearly 20% off retail price as long as it is the expansion tank you need and not the header tank that sits on top of the Rad
  9. Try this: http://www.moneysupermarket.com I have used it before and it saves looking at lots of companies as it does it for you :P
  10. They hard to remove without mangling so I can well believe there is a need for these little screws!!! ← True, we have a lot of people ask for them as the heads round off quite easily if the right screwdriver isn't used, so we keep most types in stock just in case. Also there has to be a part number for every part on every car, you would be amazed by how many different bloody clips you can get on a Lexus
  11. Not one local to you mate :) Its at Coventry in England
  12. I'm not that good (but not far off ), but the truth is i work for a lexus dealer in the parts department so have all the systems in front of me so can find out most things.
  13. The Sports Grille will fit to the Sports Cross but they come pre-painted in four colours (Astral Black, Platinum Ice, Chamonix White and Granite Sky).
  14. The Cover is available on its own from Lexus and costs about £8.60 (although they would need a chassis number to get the right one as there are a few variants), and the screw is 92p (Part Number is 89759-41020). Looks like they are available within a couple of days.
  15. Just a bit of info, i have been told by lexus that the M6 Toll Road will not be included on sat nav discs because it is a privately owned road and whoever owns it will not give them the rights to put it on there discs. So even the very latest discs will not have the toll road on them.
  16. There are a few different owners and sat-nav manuals for a 2003 RX. Any (Competent?) Lexus Dealer could find out for you with the reg number, or you could pm me your reg and i can send you the part numbers
  17. don't think they fit. The hole is the right size but they do not sit properly in the wheel so they will fly off when you drive along
  18. the only way i know is through a main dealer (as i work for one ) but you could possibly source one second hand but like i said they do change quite regular
  19. The part number for the compressor is 88320-30651. Retail price is £746.15+vat so your dealer isn't trying to rob you exactly
  20. The tyres they had fitted from factory were 275/35ZR18 Pirelli P-Zero's
  21. They are still available it is just that production has stopped
  22. yeah, perhaps a little expensive I think if you bought a ll the internals it would come to less than £200.
  23. The spoiler is available through lexus still and the part number is GBNGA-15056. Lexus still actually stock it, not even on back order! so can be got in two days retail is £420.96 inc Vat. Could probably get it for about £360.
  24. never knew ***** was such an offensive word :shutit:
  25. If the pulley is a bit ***** eyed then it is likely it has bent the shaft that goes into the pump and knackered the bearings and seals etc. It is possible though to buy all the internals seperately but you would need to strip the pump down to see what has been damaged. The pump itself is nearly £500, but the internals are actually quite cheap (the shaft for instance is only a tenner!).
