  1. Its also a designation they are dropping with the new version isnt it? Its gonna be an SE-L?
  2. thought I did? its not a huge risk to pre-order - its essentially a refundable deposit. So why do they sell a Sport model then? ← but they dont market it as a sports car Pete. A "sport" model is common on many manufacturers. In fact - most "sports" models are completely unsporty! You need only look at the specs and / or test drive it to realise that it is nothing like a fast or powerful car.
  3. I did respond to you on this point :D as I said - I dont feel the pre-order people are running a huge risk, as all they will have effectively done is put down a refundable deposit.
  4. Lexus are not a performance marque. Its not how they see themselves, nor how they sell themselves. What advertising materials did you read that said the IS was a powerhouse?
  5. A pre-order is not a contractual committment to buy though is it? I suspect the people who have pre-ordered have only put a refundable deposit down, in order to get near the front of any queue. They will still be able to thoroughly test drive the car before formally ordering. So - I think they are only risking being a deposit "out of pocket" until the test drive, after which they can order formally, or get their money back. Hardly a huge risk
  6. if you are waxing - you've finished. if its a good carnuba wax - get a layer down every 24 hours is about the best you can do. dont polish or anything else, unless you want to start again. Mike had it on the button - start properly, and get the surface prepped first. clay, swirl removal and polish would be a good start ;) wheres the rest of the pics btw?
  7. Play on Sports is a new indoor sports facility opening in Canary Wharf in London To celebrate their launch hey are willing to offer LOC Members a nice discount on their facilities.
  8. Wald is nice too :D Speak to a user called jdmparts_guru on the US site, he is working on a Wald replica. Failing that - l-tunedparts.com in the states is an excellent site - Steve Ganz the owner is a friend of LOC. Tell him you have been chatting to me about kits, and I sent you his way :winky:
  9. I am not sure if I like the junction produce kit - or if its just they always take really good pictures of the car looking clean and gleaming.
  10. typing "Veilside Lexus" into a google image search works wonders ;) Your colour too :D nice dark blue one on a MK1
  11. you should prbably wait a bit longer before complaining about no replies :D You can get the veilside kit from Rod Millen in the US. Its not my style - but its not as ugly as some You wanted pics ;) Hood, skirt and lip Rear Wing and bumper
  12. just wash and dry - and it will be popping again B) if you wax over oit - do it again if you like
  13. I have used the DACP - and I prefer the look of SG. Its glossier and deeper - I love it. Its also significantly longer lasting than a wax. On a dark car - a wax will last between may 3-4 weeks in summer to 6-8 weeks in colder times, until it has evaporated off. SG will last longer than that - a good few months, maybe as long as four months. It may offer some small protection against swirling. If you build up a few layers, the swirls will largely be in the SG itself, not the clearcoat. Its main protection is against UV, rain, road grime, bird crap etc.
  14. I would suspect it was because the "chavd up" golf is more likely to be unroadworthy? New Bentley is going to be safer, have better brakes etc.
  15. you are missing a "mirror pic". please apply more SG, and take a pic with yourself using the car as a mirror. Compulsory dontcha know :winky:
  16. Can get the Sonus Das Polisher Kit from autopia mate - best place. Use the code LEXUSPOLISHERKIT for a 10% discount ;)
  17. looking great Mike - you should be proud mate, car looks beautiful. B) Its a fabulous tool isn't it? Did you feel how silky the paint is afterwards? now - imagine how thats gonna look with 5 layers of SG on it? :D :D
  18. I think you would be hard done by getting pulled for that mate. yeah - its not even remotely legal (who's is ) - but the registration is clear and unadultered - none of this stupid false screw caps etc
  19. I was just gonna post this Col. I had trouble with wheelspin and the Pirellis, but it was in no way due to hard acceleration - just a touch of throttle to get out of junctions, onto roundabouts etc could get the back wheels going - exactly when you dont want to lose traction. not had any such problemns with the F1s
  20. seen that the other week mate is it just me - or does he do all that show off stuff - then basically catch him with a windmilling fist? this ones better I think. bang - down you go
  21. had potenzas on my IS - the Toyos where significantly better.
  22. I am quite happy with them mate - much better than Pirellis imho
  23. I agree with mudz on the "Not the pirellis" bit. I got rid of my Pirelli's - did not like them at all - too much wheelspin. I went for Goodyear Eagle F1s ;) Got them from here for a spanking price. That was for 245 / 40 / 18.
  24. why use frames? use layers ;) you'll get the same effect, but not the constraints of frame - and adsense will play nicely ;)
