  1. its an XML based web content distribution mechanism mate :winky:
  2. this is something I have been looking at. I use Sage - and have built LOCUS and TOC feeds, but these boards are using a slightly different syndication file I'll publish the feed details - now I know someone else is interested ;)
  3. and if the US government would do things like sign up for the Kyoto Agreement - the differences would make the SUV figures pale into insignificance.
  4. I can appreciate the reasoning behind not doing it as standard. but - it is a feature of the personalisation of the car - and if an owner asks for it - they should be able to get it. I balanced up the risks of being trapped in the event of an accident against the safety of the car locking automatically - and I preferred to have it lock. but they couldn't do it :(
  5. You should be able to get the "single press unlocks drivers door only" - I am pretty certain Colin did get this done. I tried to get the "auto lock after a certain speed" and was told that could not be done, although they could set it so the doors auto unlocked when I shift into P. Both of these are on MKII GS's though
  6. claying will remove pretty much everything mate. dont worry about a regime as such - check your paint work. if it needs claying - then do it. if it doesn't - dont. polishing with AIO will remove the glaze and wax too
  7. excellent selection mate - you'll like them ;) ooohh - will be interested in your opinions on those, especially if you apply them with the PC. I used Autoglym Paintwork Renovator, with the orange pad - and I did not get rid off 100% of the swirls and scratches - although, it was a big improvement. It was the first time using an abrasive product, especially with a machine - so I was probably too cautious. But at the same time - if you fnd these two get rid of your swirls - I'll be sold :D
  8. excellent combination of products - that will do your car the world of good. Can I suggest you add a claybar if you dont already have one? if you are gonna go to the extremes of starting from fresh, and polishing with the PC - then a thorough washing and claying is the best possible start. The claying article in the car care centre may help if you have not used it before ;)
  9. gotta love it - haven't you? thats only two layers - still building mine up.
  10. only the best for the goldies Colin :D I have used this company - and saved a small fortune. they where £50+ corner cheaper than blackcircles. taking into account reclaiming the VAT - I saved more than £130 on 4 on the mytyres prices! ;) swift delivery, proper VAT invoice etc - tyres are E marked. superb deal - and a great company to do business with.
  11. absolutely! what are they doing to give this extra figure John? is it a upgrade that is similar to one for the MKI / MKII - or a MKIII specific one? if so very quick off the mark for mods for the gen III - well done Mark and TDI :D
  12. should check this thread. nearly trade price tyres for gold members :winky:
  13. I would use a microfiber one to remove it - and save the concours for that final buffing stage, when you are not actually removing product, just bringing up the shine B)
  14. sure there was no relationship between these issues? the foot brake does have a bit of an effect on performance? (I know someone who mistook the foot brake pedal for the foot rest when they first got their LS400 ) wheres the hand / foot brake on the LS430 then? is it not foot operated, with a pull handle on the left hand side of the drivers panel?
  15. I dont think they would actually turn back!
  16. I have a sexy lil unit on route from the states mate ;) control the ipod from the touch screen and steeering wheel controls. B) I'll let you know what its like? cant have a £55k car with a tape adapter, and wires trailing over the car :o :o
  17. well done - and welcome to LOC. My father has a LS400, on a 96 / N. sweet as a nut - such a smooth car to drive. if you are doing a lot of miles - cant think of a nicer car to do them in B)
  18. ah! you mean you manipulated the image after taking it? I thought you meant the settings on the camera. I can tone down the levels afterwards in photoshop - but would like to improve my photography ability, and be able to take a semi decent photo in the first place!
  19. hmmm you dropped the image size - not the resolution? have to try that. did you have any problem with the pics being too bright / washed out? anything like sunlight, and my pics seem too washed out
  20. its not a competition Shahz - just shiny cars B) and this one shines!! :D
  21. beautiful :) same colour as mine - it is difficult to get a decent picture of it isn't it - mine always end up too washed out :( the porter is an excellent tool - but I would only use it for polishing and buffing. Apply your finishing product (wax or glaze) by hand. I have tried waxing with it - and it was a lot of work, the bonnet got loaded with product very quickly. tried applying sealant glaze with it - and took it off again, not happy with the result. I'm re-doing it now by hand. compound, polish and buff with the porter - absolutely. Gives a superb shine, and the paintwork is so soft. but - I "finish" the car by hand, get a nicer result that way I have found
  22. a real pity :( but I am sure that all the gold members appreciate the work you have put in on their behalf Stu. I know I do. thanks for all your help Stu :)
