  1. leave it 24 hours mate. do not apply any wax at at all. once you wax - you cannot apply any more SG. you reallywant to get 5 - 7 layers down. not only will that give fabulous depth of shine - but a really nice protective layer against nasty **** in the rain, bird bombs, bug guts etc. you've worked like a ***** on getting this finish - would be a good idea to seal it well in!
  2. well duh! how long have we been telling you that? seriously- I prefer Klasse to megiuars - have said that many times. its probably not a fair comparison for you though mate - the prep you have put into this is making a massive difference. wait till you get a few layersof SG on :winky:
  3. nice one Mike ;) did you sell the starlet mate? not telling you how to conduct your relationship mate ;) but...... you tell her to take it easy in that for while. she's a new driver, and the MR2 is rear wheel, mid engined - catchs a lot of people out on bends, roundabouts etc. this happens to experienced drivers too - see it on TOC a fair bit. would hate to see anything nasty happening to the missus fella ;)
  4. what EXACTLY was it advertised as having mate? Parkng sensors are the sensors in the bumper, beep as you get closer to obstacles etc. There is no button on the dash, or any other visible indicator with the Lexus fit parking sensors. Parking assist however, is a display on the centre console screen that shows the area behind you. You can see it on the lexus website here. This has a "Park" button on the dash to activate the screen / camera etc.
  5. atm - I intend to disapeear behind the curtains to the theme from Schindlers List. gorgeous music.
  6. fabulous work mate - keep it up :D I want to see it when you get a few layers of SG on it.
  7. yeah. pads aren't "magic" - as long as its up to the task you need (ie - its described as a cutting pad) - you should be fine. ;)
  8. wtf? I noticed that when I was typing it. **** me - I fixed a typo with the same **** typo
  9. absolutely. songs I can ALWAYS listen to would be Rhapsody in Blue and Someone to watch over me - both are timeless classics by George Gershwin (sheesh - you know you have an eclectic taste in music when this comes up and you cant decide between RCHP, Stevie Wonder, Mozart and Gershwin )
  10. black is probably the only colour this would work on - as Lexus black has no clearcoat
  11. ding ding ding. winner. it just becomes yet another "internet ***** size" comeptition, with sad people whoring themselves out for karma, and / or arguing and fighting over who does get the karma
  12. you ideas intrigue me, and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter
  13. been considered mate, but never been done (and in my opinion - never will be). - we already have a problem with post whoring. karma whoring we can live without. - we try to keep the forum hacks to a minumum. they seem like a good idea - until you have to upgrade. then they become a MASSIVE ball ache.
  14. get the AIO on there, and buff off. apply 1 coat of SG. Literally - use so little you can hardly see it going on. May help to mist your applicator with some water to begin. buff off. leave for 24 hours to cure. Repeat. this will give beautiful depth and clarity, especially as you are doing such a through job preparing the surface ;)
  15. looking really good bud - should be proud of that finish ;) that is going to look simply beautiful once you start getting AIO etc on it - this is just prep work so far. Really looking forward to the rest of the pics B)
  16. Aido all you need to know about using the PC Porter Cable Polisher is in our Lexus Car Care Portal mate ;) with regards to how long to use it for - until your shadow becomes your reflection is my rule B)
  17. seems weird Bob. got a bunch of '06 GS owners on the US site, and not heard this complaint. not to insult you - but you have tried adjusting the seat position, lumbar support etc?
  18. problem with the russian sites is that do you really want to give your credit card details to dodgy russian web sites who specialise in illegal activities? :shutit: :shutit: of of these companies disappeared for a while, as they had not paid their backhanders to the russian mob that month. do these sound like people you give credit card details to? :D
  19. pretty certain the CBEST settings dont allow this mate. You can turn the feature on or off - but not alter the timing. I use this feature a lot, as where I park during the day gets very hot. So I pay at the machine, and open the windows / sunroof from there to let the heat out while I walk back. Its the sunroof that takes the time. If you closed the sunroof yourself, then got out - you can open and close the windows in about a second.
  20. manchesters not too far from me - may try and make this :D
  21. John - dont forget to use the LEXUSPOLISHERKIT discount code when you check out matey ;)
  22. not necessarily mate. The Aristo is the toyota name for the GS - as the Lexus brand does not yet exist in Japan (coming soon). The main difference between Aristo and GS300 is the trim levels - the Lexus being the "luxury" version can have full leather etc. There is a vertex version of the artisto which is twin turbo - but not all aristo's are turbod. Unless you get this twin turbo version - there will not be any real difference in power. One factor you probably want to consider is the cost of insurance. The GS is group 15 - so not necessarily cheap, and with Aristo's being imports, insurance can be more expensive. They can also be harder to sell on, with some people being wary of imports. Some nice models for sale on here - mudz has his up, and its in really good condition
