  1. i was suprised.. i was thinking staple gun and at question 22 it guessed a Staple remover.. kinda gob smacked that it got very close.. but it still did not get it correct. Must say.. guy who put that together deserves a pat on the back... ;)
  2. This is why i have been telling people to get it in writing, alot of people from the survey i did should check their policies if they have mods.. especially with Bell. The whole point of the LOC insurance was that the underwriters we use have studied the vehicle.
  3. Hi steve whats your gold username mate... I will then update your status here on public. cheers
  4. the first thing you do is rebadge it and hey presto... its worth more don't be discouraged about the value... you have to prepare yourself that if it does drop in value it is probably because of running costs. Not many people can afford to run a 3ltr car. However, the car will justify that with its smooth ride and you could always part ex it later. Here is something you need to look for Make sure it is fully loaded.. not all are! Request that you want Air Purifier Adjustable suspension traction control electric flip mirrors heated mirrors sport mode these are not evident in all.. but mostly in japan they are.. i have found thatnthe US dont even get this spec. And you will not pay anymore to have it.. these gadgets are well cool. What srt of price are you looking to pay.. and what year do you want?
  5. I will try and answer a few of these for you. 1) Which company in the UK is the cheapest to insure a Windom and what group is it ? >> I am am 31 and insured myself fully comp for £450, But I am swapping this for LOC insurance as it will have more coverage. The insurance company still havent a clue what type of car it is.. scary! 2) Are parts readily available ? >> yes.. My local dealership orders me parts no problem. Some parts are in this country or belgium as they share the same parts as the camry (same chassis) Though major parts that do come from japan can take 3 -4 weeks 3) Are these cars reliable and what sort of mileages can they achieve without major problems ? >> If looked after then yes.. I bought one that was not looked after and had a few things wrong with it.. but nothing serious.. the engine is sweet. 4) Is the engine the same as another UK Toyota model ? >> you might want to look this up I think it is the 3vz-FE 4) Is it straightforward to convert them to UK standard and pass the SVA test ? >> A decent importer would do this as standard. You would need the ODO meter converted, tank filler alteration, Fog lights, wing indicators (think they come with them) and a few other bits. 5) My current understanding of the SVA regulations from doing my own self import previously is that it would not be possible to import one newer than a 1996 model due to needing an expensive model report for the SVA. >> not sure of this. 6) Has anyone got a good link to an english website that shows what kit you get on a 1996 Windom ? >> I wish i knew where :) You cannot fault these cars.. although they feel heavy round corners on the straight they are cruisers and are very quiet inside. Fuel consumption is about 26 - 28 mpg.... stick you foot down and really give it some then expect 10 mpg... Also my advice is to get a reputable company like New Era Imports to find you one. Afterall.. you dont want to import a car and find it to be a lemon.
  6. what year are you looking for.. as they changed a few times in the last 12 years
  7. if you need to claim and the insurance company inspects then just start peeling.
  8. my goodness... that brought a tear to my eye.. i am absolutely speechless... :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
  9. I just moved all my messages in my inbox to another folder.. synced up and it cleared it all. i have disabled the mail option anyway.. dont really need mail on it. Though the games are good. BTW.. how do you view movies on it? Steve
  10. figured it out.. had to clear my inbox on my PC then re-sync
  11. Ihooked up my Palm m505 to my pc and sync'd it all up.. but it downloaded 2500 emails and now i am left with so many emails that i cannot get rid of... is there a way to remove this altogether in one go? cheers
  12. i should read more next time still very clever marketing and a cracking deal!
  13. I was looking at the Lexus IS200 deal for £299 per month and it has dawned that this is a really good deal if you intend staying with lexus for many years. Cash price £20,605.00 Initial deposit £4,047.75 Monthly payments x 35 £299.00 Final payment (GMFV) £9,307.00 APR 8.6% Total amount payable £23,859.75 Now the hefty last payment sort of put me off.. but then realised that in 35 months you could trade the car in and get a new one and continue paying £299 a month! It all made sense that it is a great way of keeping up to date with a new Lexus. You would not need to make the last payment if it was all paid off when traded in. This way Lexus keep their customers this way and not have to find the big lump at the end. Am I correct here and this would work right?
  14. Actually.. I think the car looks good as a two door coupe! Maybe they could put more space in the front then!
  15. Yep there will be rom for a thick wire too.. as log as you take you time to place the wire through the car neatly then youll be fine. I Also have a 60amp fuse linked up to this wire... make sure you have this. ICE stands for In Car Entertainment :)
  16. prepare to see a lot of posts ;) :P
  17. From the battery I had the cable through the rubber grommit in the firewall ( between engine bay and inside car) As far as I can see they ran the main cable through under the carpet but neatly tucked into the corners. this then ran through the car through the rear firewall into the trunk. To be honest i had mine instal by an engineer and I am going from what I have seen of the cable.
  18. dont think they do.. was looking at a stereo from the US and they are different to here.. though my sources could have been wrong
  19. hmm sounds good mate remember to mention the club! LOL
  20. Dear Technical Support, 18 months ago, I upgraded to Girlfriend 1.0 from Drinking Mates 4.2, which I had used for years without any trouble. However, there are apparently conflicts between these two products and the only solution was to try and run Girlfriend 1.0 with the sound turned off. To make matters worse, Girlfriend 1.0 is incompatible with several other applications, such as Lads Night Out 3.1, Football 3pm, and Playboy 6.9. Successive versions of Girlfriend proved no better. A shareware program, Party Girl 2.1, which I tried, had many bugs and left a virus in my system, forcing me to shut down completely for several weeks. Eventually, I tried to run Girlfriend 1.2 and Girlfriend 1.0 at the same time, only to discover that when these two systems detected each other, they caused severe damage to my hardware. I then upgraded to Fiancée 1.0, only to discover that this product soon had to be upgraded further to Wife 1.0. while Wife 1.0 tends to use up all my available resources, it does come bundled with FreeSexPlus and Cleanhouse 2002. Shortly after this upgrade, however, I found that Wife 1.0 can be very unstable and costly to run. Any mistakes I made were automatically stored in Wife 1.0's memory and could not be deleted. They then resurfaced months later when I had forgotten about them. Wife 1.0 also has an automatic Diary Explorer and E-mail Filter, and can, without warning, launch TurboStrop and Whinge. These latter products have no Help files, and I have to try to guess what the problem is. Additional problems are that Wife 1.0 needs updating regularly, requiring ShoeShop Browser for new attachments and Hairstyle Express which needs to be reinstalled every other week. Wife 1.0 also spawns unwelcome child processes that drain my resources. These conflict with some of the new games I wanted to try out, warning me that they are an illegal operation. Also, when Wife 1.0 attaches itself to my Audi TT hard drive, it often crashes. Wife 1.0 also comes with a rather annoying pop-up called Mother-In-Law, which can't be turned off. Recently I've been tempted to install Mistress 2003, but there could be problems. A friend of mine has alerted me to the fact that if Wife 1.0 detects Mistress 2003, it tends to delete all of your Money files before uninstalling itself.
  21. hmm that would of suited a Beemer driver right? Would a lexus driver really say that or in fact be like that I'm cold.. so all the BM owners can now flame me... hmmmm (homer style) Toasty! Good joke john
