Usually these things are easier than they look/sound, with just one or two plugs/looms to disconnect when you get the unit loose, so would not worry too much, just plug and play really. Just be careful about any prising of plastic parts etc, I usually use a screwdriver with a cloth (teatowel or something) over the end.

And I would take the advice about putting some tape on the dash each side of the radio before taking it out. I read that bit about scratching the dash before I fitted my first iPod adaptor and thought it sounded tricky so I thought "I know, i'll get the pro's to do it so I don't scratch my dash", so took it to Lexus and what do I get back? Yep, a scratched dash. To their credit they did pay to get it sorted, but I have since replaced my head unit and it is actually very easy.

Yeah it looks amazing but its just a concept, no plans (as yet) to actually make that as far as I know. The replacement for the S-type is meant to be based on some of those concept elements but you can bet it's not going to be anywhere near as nice as the C-XF, shame. My Bluevision bulbs have always lasted very well, I think on my last car I went through 2 pairs in about 4 or 5 years but obviously depends on luck and how much you use them. As for install should be a straight swap - whats that about the hole? Did they say what that was about???

Not a bad price but can't comment on the claims or how good they are (or how long they might last) without using them, but if they turn out to be crap you've only lost £10.50. Personally I have always used Philips Bluevision too, usually from here: http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/ They used to send a pair of free philips bluevision sidelight bulbs with every set too which are better looking than standard ones.

I don't think there is much that can be done until a standard secure email service is commonplace - there are some around but nobody (i.e. microsoft or any other big organisations) seem to be pushing a standard forward. You'd think with all the technology and wizzyness about we would be able to solve this one problem. Not ideal but only thing I can advise to keep on top of things is to register your own domain (not too expensive nowadays) so you can send/receive email on any address, i.e. me@mydomain.co.uk, somethingelse@mydomain.co.uk, lexus@mydomain.com etc. Then you can use different emails for different sites and set filters to reject/ignore certain ones when you start getting spam on them (which you will eventually). When I start getting spam on an email address I just reject any email going to it and start using another one.

Those don't look too good close-up do they... I have these ones that go straight accross the headlights. Fit is excellent but don't know where they came from or what make they are as they came with the car. Unfortunately one has a massive stone chip in it now and needs a respray.

Can you get any decent bodykits for the standard new IS yet? I think with a decent set of wheels, lowered and a nice kit the standard one will look sweet-as and ideal as my potential next car (even if I could afford it, what with my other toys I don't think I would ever spend what it would take to get an IS-F) Seen a couple of new IS bodykits/styling kits but they look very stick-on and not seen a decent one yet.

Don't worry about the CD player, if it goes wrong take it as an opportunity to upgrade to a wizzy new head unit (easy assuming you dont go for one with lexus navigation).

I dunno about clubs but I travel to and stay in hotels in Liverpool most weeks, mostly at the Albert Dock. 2 cheaper but nice hotels there Premier Travel Inn is the best as it offers option of buffet cooked brek. Actually better than a lot of "proper" hotels I have stayed in, something like £60-£70 a night. Holiday Inn Express there is o.k. too and similar price but no cooked brek. Holiday Inn town centre o.k. and multi-story car-park next door but not as nice as Albert Dock and more expensive I think. Several bars/restaurants at albert dock and also its walking distance to some of the town too. Have to pay for parking even overnight there now tho as the free overnight carpark is now closed as they are building a hotel there. But outside hotel parking is only £1.50 overnight, don't bother with the new multi-story it cost me £10 overnight last time I was there! But outstide hotel don't even THINK about letting your ticket expire even just a bit, the inspectors are there every day at the crack of dawn and don't allow any leeway. gits. If you want to spend more then the Suites Hotel Knowsley is nice and good food but out of town. What about the Lawnmower Museum in Southport?. Not been there but I nearly ****** myself when I saw the sign - sounds dead exciting...

Like most concept cars it looks awsome, but I try and more-or-less ignore concept cars nowadays, even if they do ever build them or a derivative of them the production model is usually so diluted and boring. Apart from the fact it will probably be way beyond my means even if they do ever build one.

Just wondering if anyone has used Federeal SS-595 tyres on an IS200 (or even other cars just for a viewpoint)? I went through 2 set of these on my last car (Mitsi FTO) and I thought they were awsome (also tried Falken FK451s and Toyo Proxes during its life with me) and the Federals beat them hands down on grip and similar if not better on wear. Just wondered if anyone had them on a IS200? This is my sport with NO lowering (just for comparison) - prob sits a bit high for some peoples taste but I think I would have rubbing issues if it was lowered.

I have 19's and have no problem at all with full lock without any mods (I bought the car with them but sure its un-modded), but I have to say I don't think they are the perfect offset (i.e. they are slightly sticky-outy if you know what I mean). I am sure 20" is possible with mods but obviously the width of the wheels and the tyres are all going to effect how well they fit - I think thats the problem with mine, if they were narrower with a different offset they could probably fit better, but the larger the diameter the wider the wheels seem to be. I think your biggest prob is going to be finding 20" wheels that you like that you like and can afford but are still narrow enough for the IS200.

I think your only options are: - Use one of those FM transmitter things (quite crap) - Use a wired FM adaptor (not too bad but won't be CD quality) - Replace the head unit with one that has aux-in or iPod interface Or if you are handy with a screwdriver and a soldering iron you could try adding your own RCA jacks as detailed here: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/knowledge...;id=20&c=14 Prolex used to to an aux-in adaptor for the OEM head unit but I think the guy who made them is very ill so they are no longer available.

If it was me I think after the first time I would have installed some sort of CCTV camera looking over it. Can get loads of different one even IR enabled ones quite cheap nowadays. Probably the same scally each time...

Dunno about different frequencies but don't think they have RDS radio over there so no auto-tuning as you drive about or traffic announcement stuff.

I like them a lot. For a second I thought they were actually fitted rather than a photoshop and I thought "**** they are super-low-profile, must be 20"! :duh:

You havent said which model/size of iPod. I have mine there so could send you pics of what I have done.

I recently fitted the amp bypass cable people are talking about (IS200 Sport) with a half-decent Pioneer stereo (nothing special, 50w per channel, no additional amp and kept all stock speakers) and in my opinion its better than the stock headunit (but not that much better). And yes it does drive all the speakers. I am sure you will get better sound with new speakers but I upgraded primarily to get aux-in for iPod not for amazingly better/louder sound. I thought the stock HU/speakers are good so for me the new headunit alone is fine. Mine does have more adjustability though so you can send low-range or full-range to rear speakers and tweak bass output in various ways to get the best out of it using the stock speakers. Hope this helps people decide what to do without doing/spending too much.
