  1. Thanks for the reply guys, not sure about the 3M stuff (looks plasticky close up) I suppose I could opt for multiple coats of Z2 or diamond brite? I would like to keep the car religously waxed each weekend seeing as the london area is full of pollutants (one rain shower and most of the wax effort looks like runny white water stains, even with supra guard Anyone else having plans for their IS250? Or are we hoping the water emulsion system is up to scratch?
  2. I had heard that the increased length of the car, allowed for a larger rear seating and boot space compared to the old IS200 which had less leg room space
  3. How about a zaino product or a set of zymol products? I'm not so familiar with the Klasse system, are there any links. Much thanks
  4. Also found out that - prices released from dealers are pretty much finalised. Full pricing to be released in 2-3 weeks. - the spare tire is a space saver (as the front and back wheels are different sizes) - lexus cutting corners? - tires used will probably be Bridgestones and not run flats (due to excessive road noise/expense) - option to add a speed limit warning eg. speed limit 40 mph - red light flashes - IS 250 4WD option will not be available in the UK at the moment Otherwise, looking forward to test driving the new car in Nov
  5. Hi guys, I've put in my order for a totally black version and would like advice on the supraguard option offered by the dealers. Lexus Supraguard (£300-350) - External paint protection (with after care kit) - alleged to reduce paint chips and not require much polishing - Internal paint protection and reduction of glare form plastics - Key insurance (up to £1000) in event of loss External paint protection Initially, I wanted to go for the supraguard option but having used zymol products for years, have heard various reviews that there might be eventual problems in wax application/cleansing. If anyoen has had previosu experience using the full supraguard application, be much appreciated!
  6. I think some additional styling or body kits woudl be nice, or an option to add HID lamps and DAB
  7. The speed was 40mph and it was a fixed camera. I drive that road everyday to and fro from work for the past year - basically, there is not much leeway or ability to spee don the North circular as it is mainly 40mph in most parts and 50mph in various streches... To be safe, I drove at 35mph back from work today...
  8. Mr SF - Have query about Gatso. Was pulling out to join the North Circular road (Brent - Ikea) at 40mph road. Gatso flashed even though I was travelling at 40mph and before the car had reached the horizontal banded lines. What is the outcome of such a situation. Thank you
  9. I dont know how much difficulty it is to add a DAB for a car system (I guess for now, it'll have to be a iPod jobbie - heck, even my phone does DAB) for the 2.5K, perhaps its the multiple speakers that cost....
  10. Anyone know which insurance companies will cover the new Lexus IS250 when it arrives, or is there a special group rating that goes out to all insurance groups when it is launched in Nov?
  11. How does one find out, what kind of problem it is? Has anyoen else had teh same FM tuner problem?
  12. I had the exact same problem a few weeks ago. Still ahvent figured it out. all the connections intact. AM works, FM is just crackle, with very faint feed. Anyoen knwo how to get this fixed (short of an extortionate ride to lexus.....:( )
  13. mind you the pictures were prepared for the american public....where DAB doesnt exist. hopefully it will make that transition here...
  14. Having to commute daily in London, as much as I love my manual IS200, the constant changing up and down cannot compare to teh smooth ride of the auto gearbox. Hopefully it will be a decent 5-6 speed auto gear box for the IS250 Anyone know, how much is the additional cost of setting upt eh Bluetooth system or does it come installed ?
  15. The stereo is MP3 compatible, adn u can jack your IPOD into it via an aux if u want
  16. Autospies have a nice selection of new shots of the NEW IS http://www.autospies.com/article/index.asp...34&categoryId=1 The KeyFob: Ignition:
  17. Well - it will cost more to add full leather trim on top of the standard sport seats, and alloy will be a slight cost as well from 16 to 17. Probably factors in nicely I guess
  18. Bit the bullet and put myself down for a IS250 today
  19. nope. i was jsut driving normally. the FM tuner aspect looks pretty dead, but AM/MW works fine. bizzare
  20. All I heard from a dealer was the quoted MPG for IS 250 was around 30mpg That there are NO plans for a diesel auto trasmission at the moment, that there are no TRD or speccing groups available yet (it is said to be powerful enough for most peeps to not requires drastic engine modifications) I've also noticed there are not enough differences between the SE-L and the SE to warrant the increase of 25k (SE) to 27.5K (SE-L)difference. IS250/SE/SE-L - Auto trasmission costs around 1K - Multimedia pack 2.5k - mettalic paint 0.5k (except black) One thing I'd like to know is the specs on teh IS250 sport - Escaine (what the world is escaine, and is that mainly for the trimming but not the seats?) - Is there a better slip/differential for mroe performance, - or is the onyl changes mainly cosmetic - i.e 18 alloys, harder ride
  21. Hi there, i was using my radio the otehr day when suddenly the FM tuner coudl not pick upa clear signal anymkore. AM works fine, Cd player works fine, but FM gets jublled/muddled signal where it is unable to fix onto any station. Any advice for repairs or possible sources of errors? is it worth asking lexus dealer to look at or an independant repairer Thanks!
  22. hah, managed to add mine after the 16th try. not many folk from N London area
