  1. yup, i'm good for that. if anyone wants to meet up going round the M25 clockwise (on the bottom) then I could meet up with you there too
  2. Think they're brilliant. Use them 100% The ONLY time I might flick on lights myself is in early morning conditions where it's getting light, but I think sidelights would be safer (so others can surely see me). And even then, it makes the indicator stalk feel weird!! I think they're great....thumbs up!!!
  3. Jerry, have a read http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=8395& http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=3041& I only searched for these quickly, so there may be some more info available elsewhere, but hopefully it will start you off on the right foot ! Good luck, Tony
  4. That is alot of miles, but look at it this way mate, you have the perfect car for doing alot of miles in!!! THat's what it was built for. The only cost will be petrol, and it will reach 90k quicker so the service will be sooner. That's all.......the car is bullet proof and a joy to drive on the motorway, don't think of it as a bad thing, think of it as that you will be driving alot of miles, in a car that is wonderful to do alot of miles in !!!
  5. As good a car as I think the IS is, I think it does have some major flaws that would allow customers to easily consider other marques. -No trip computer/MPG -No memory on seats -No controls on steering wheel -No auto-wipers -No diesel (though they have one in the pipeline) -No folding rear seats BUT.....of course, these are the things it doesn't have. LEt's consider what it DOES have as STANDARD!!! Which, personally, is why I bought the car - because I didn't have to tick loads of options boxes to have a nice level of equipment. I don't think Lexus need to start branching out into different corners of the market. There is no need for a Lexus MR2, or a Lexus Focus, toyota takes care of that, and in doing those types of cars they may devalue the lexus brand. "I've got a Ford" could mean you have a Ka 1.1 or a GT40. "I've got a Lexus" means you have a prestige car, period.
  6. i am. the best place for me to meet you guys will prob be the M4. I'll be going round the south side of the M25 (clockwise) I assume it's M4 / M40 to get there ?
  7. only just seen this. might go if i can. it's a fair way away though (I live in North Kent). Is anyone else going to be going from down my area (or maybe meet up on M25 somewhere) ?
  8. Cheers guys! Was gonna play it all night yesterday, then yesterday afternoon my dad rang and invited me round my parents for dinner (as my mum was out last night).....so got back too late to start :( Still.....after a trip to Tescos tonight, it's GT3 all night for me. What a way to relax :) :) :)
  9. How come they're "W" speed rated ? What, consequently, is the top speed of your SC430?
  10. MK is looking good ! (that's this one for everyone's info)
  11. Daytona in Milton Keynes does look very good indeed. What's everyone's thoughts on that? I'm ok, obviously FARGO is too.
  12. Ifraz, I remember that thread well - but alot of the more northern contigent (Matt W, MSW, Loz for example have n1ot put their names down for this one, and they were the ones stressing the north last time). Kev - got your e-mail, and thanks for that. It's very mixed as to how open they are, depending on the circuit. Some will allow a two team endurance race (though it is slightly boring cos there's only 2 people on track at a time), so what you can do is an endurance race and have 4 karts for example, with fewer people in each team. The options are great, so really depends on final numbers, and on what TOC want to do. Incidentally - STEVE....you got a TOC captain, yet ?! Oh, also, could you give me the link to the karting thread on the TOC site, please? Ta!!
  13. Quite a good summary I thought :) :)
  14. Slightly different way to look at all this......it's not the BHP per se. It's the BHP/tonne, and also it's the nature of the engine. I'll give you an example......I've driven a 550bhp/tonne Caterham 7 around the town, with an engine that only really works above 5000rpm, and revs to about 10000rpm. It was horrible to drive round town, but simply sublime everywhere else. I owned a 360bhp Escort Cosworth, piece of cake to drive round town. I drove a 420bhp Cerbera 4.5, it was a pig and awkward to drive. I drove a 450bhp XKR round town and it was a piece of cake I've driven a 600nm/500bhp Bentley Arnage T...possibly the easiest car in the world to drive. So alot to be considered is the nature of the engine. A mate of mine (who works for Minsiter Power who build the R500 engine) has.....you guessed it....an R500based engine in his car. It's horrible to drive round town ......i mean really horrific.....and as an everyday car is really impractical....and that only has 200(ish)bhp. Though it does sound great :) So, where I'm going with this is, that it's not really the bhp which is impractical.....it is the nature of the engine, the type of engine, and the weight of the car!!!
  15. At £2.70 + 1.50 P&P even if it is complete crap, you haven't lost much!!
  16. that's cheating! though a good idea nevertheless!
  17. Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but thought I would just say a big hello and welcome !!! I'm sure someone will be along very soon to answer your question, though my feelings on it are that I don't know of any who have done it.....that's not to say it hasn't been done though !! Enjoy the club !
  18. Going way off topic here I remember in my far younger days (remember I'm only 23, now!) when Doom and Doom II on the PC were released. The internet was still very young, and PC specs nothing like they are now. A mate of mine used to have a basement (all nicely done up)that was set up with about 8 machines in a network (his dad was in computers). We used to go round his house after school on a Friday, go into the basement, and come out again sunday night with hang overs, caffeine addictions, and too many empty "Tesco 10 Jam Donut" bags. We played via the internet (9600 connections baby yeah!), networked, and had a bloody great time ! Oh.....good memories.
  19. Right.......gotcha!! I can see me playing this at 4 o'clock tomorrow morning......you KNOW how addictive it is!
  20. cheers Stu, will do!! I think I'm up to ib at the moment, and will go and do the others ASAP (that way it won't annoy me later!)
  21. oh I see what you mean! So you can't do stuff in the middle of entering the series ?? Like buy and sell cars or parts ? The reason I'm confused though is because I thought I'd done it that way before, AND won the car. Perhaps I didn't though - this is all only from memory!!! Cheers guys, you just helped me alot!
