  1. hi i have just purchased a set of dunlop winter sport max in 235/50/18.they are quiet for a winter tyre and the difference in the cold and wet is certainly noticable.i checked that i could go from the oem 245/45/18 to the 235/50/18 and was told it would make little difference. i got them from GERMAN TYRE WHAREHOUSE(uk based),THRU ebay

  13. hi welcome back, have just received possible BAD news.with regards to my misfire and vsc light ;had compression test done today, could mean a burnt out valve seating. i had used the bk44 system cleaner recently.my man at lexus says it 'may have caused damage to the valve seat'. will b taking it to the guys who did my conversion for a second opinion. problem is that lexus hardly ever get these problems ,hence the unsure diagnosis. will keep u posted hi, have been trying to get a second opinion- looks bad for me! my second mechanic says he needs to take the head off! still cylinder n1 misfire. however a third opinion says it could be a 'sticking hydraulic shifter valve'. he is giving me some oil treatment (trade quality) to try out.hopefully it will do the trick. anybody had same probs and any answers-pleeeease? still having same problem.consesus has shifted to a' sticking hydraulic lifter'. any one had this problem? if so whats the cure? tanks
  14. hi I am in same line of work (dead!) good post on the tyre wear/ride adjustment. will get mine done. see u at lap?
  15. hi, I have just come back to loc after a long time, and ur post caught my eye. I just have had the same problem with my 430. i have had the the timing and drive belts changed as well as the plugs recently.my car has had the vsc light on for a while now .it is also noticeably noisier. had a diagnostic done and was told a 'cylinder misfire'. it drives fine but on idle you can feel the misfire(especially in gear). lexus are going to have a look next week as they are baffled(??). will let u know the result .

hi folks.i have 2002 ls430 and was wondering what the offset on the original 7 hole alloys is.i have 225/55/17 tyres but the front alloys are flaking.the wheels are 17x7.5jj. many thanks
  19. Hi guys.very interesting to hear from different people and their views on lpg.my personal opinion is that if u have a 430 go for the sequential system.it will pay for itself both in economy(I GET 40-46MPG IN "money terms") and in in the sheer smoothness of the system.very little difference in the perfomance between lpg and petrol-negligible loss of power on gas ,but big fuel saving.ps i drive for a living and do 60k a year.i hope this makes thing a little clearer but everyone has their own opinion!!!
  20. thanks guys.good website.will prob get one of the £70 ones as a spare(steep!!-no wonder halfords don't do them!)

  23. i have now been running my LS400 93 on LPG for the last two and half years. during that time i have driven to south spain 4 times on holiday, from scotland, plus your normal everyday running. apart from some teething gas problems at first, which was quicklly sorted, the car has behaved perfectly and is still running like a dream. the car has now done 37thou since gas was installed. i was seriously considering upgrading to the LS430 but this car is running so well that i am swithering whether to change or not. i even put an extra gas tank, doughnut shape, where the spare wheel sits becuase of the distance covered by driving on holidays to spain. between the two tanks they hold approx 100ltrs of gas. i get approx 500 miles of motorway driving 85-90mph. so safe to say no problems with the LS400. would be interested to know of any diffuculties with the 430 conversion? had my 2002 430 donelast year.done 37k no problems.i am a chauffeur all my customers say it is very smooth and ECONOMICAL.
