I bit the bullet and bought one for £33 i have it all sprayed up to match my car i am goign to fit it tomorrow. Just hope the temp stick on thing i used to cover the hole comes off easily

my main concern is to have an Aeriel that isnt whipped by davie teenager and his hashed up buddies.

With the wonderfull weather we are having here in Scotland i had to use the wipers. they are fine when its lashing down and they are on full but if its a drizzle or road spray i get an annoying clunk when the wipers reach the top stroke and start to come back. I have checked the bodywork and window but there is no marks to say its a physical barrier thats causing the noise. Someone mentioned that the blades could be too big and the rubber makes the noise? anyoen ever had an issue with this? any advice on getting rid of the noise would be helpfull as it looks like its goign to be a wet Winter

I tried burnign a couple of CD's for the car and none seem to work. all give me an Error code and its annoying. I gave up buying CD's when i got my first ipod (about 5 years ago) and untill someone brings out a nice car kit for the new nano im stuck with my Old cd's Anyone ever got a brand of blank cd to work in the changer?

i tend not to worry about the Ncap ratings. I have no intention of crashing

OK how annoying is this. My mrs bought me one of those cheapy alloy bee sting aerials for my Lex and untill now it was secured tightly on the car. last night i stayed at the inlaws and some :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: didnt only knick the Aerial they managed to break the bloody mount in half too. I have bought one of the over mount hollow Shark fins to protect the gaping hole in my Aerial untill i can get a proper replacemt. Anyway trawling through ebay i found this and wondered if anyone had actually bought one and fitted it? I basically want to know if it still gets a reasonable reception or if its crap. i am goign to go gold too but have to wait for pay day. All the bits i have bought for my Lex rooked me this month

I use my Tom tom gps for checking my spead. Its strange between 50-80 its always 4mph over.

ha ha try that on the Edinburgh city bypass at 8 am. lucky if you get above 20mph never mind fast enough for the water to run

Hell im lucky i get the wifes 2003 Meriva and my 2001 is200s insured for both of us fully comp and business use for £520.

hell even vauxhall give you a courtesy car without the need for you to insure it. I even had the Zafira vxr for an afternoon (bleemin scary motor btw too much power for such a tall car) Try another dealer. may be worth it for a few extra miles driving to get a better deal.

im still at a cross roads with this. i think ill buy a second hand key and one of those cheap blanks. Try reprogramming them myself. if it doesnt work then its a pain but not too much money wasted.

if you have more than 1 car in the household then look at a multicar policy. i know that place that has the ad with the Nelson look alike and parrot knocked almost £450 of the cost of insuring both our cars. PLUS they used her indoors 5 years NCD against the lexus and my measley 1 year against her car to reduce the cost.

Just to add fuel to the Reversing beep debate i have just installed an aftermarket reversing sensor and i now have 2 Beebs to contend with. For me disabling the internal beep so i can hear the sensor beeping would be an advantage

i got an alloy Ariel for my motor and found my Missus bought me one too. so i put the spare on her car only for it to last 3 days. Glued mine in so the gits dont nick it. Time for me to empty the garage and get my car in there.

im still trying to figure out if i can reprogram a transponder from another car. If so i can get a used key for £10 off ebay and a blank key for £5 if not its £50 from a 3rd party or *** knows how much from Lexus

Got it from Reg Vardy Renault. Originally came from Lexus in Teeside. Dunno how it managed to get to a Renault Garage in Edinburgh. But hey i got a good deal. dont talk to me about shoes. had to but her a pair and matchign handbag today cos i got h=the car in the first place. You would think she would be happy getting her car back and not having to share with me.

Well basically i bought a double extension off eBay, cut the end off an attached an 12v in-line fuse. I then took the centre console off and disconnected the cigarette lighter - scotch locked the live feed to the Pink (live) feed on the lighter and used a self tapper to earth it to the body. Thats is basically - took less that 10 minutes. (putting the console back took longer) Nice idea I think I'll have a go at it in a few weeks or so, I so want my ipod hooked up.. Infact while writing this I remember i have an Itrip which i can use. Currently my CD player is broke, so listening to tapes from like 2002...lol I did something similar with the lighter sockets for the PDA sat nav and Ipod in my mrs car. Its really weasy and costs alot less then the big bucks wanted by ICE Companies. Im now thinking of new ways for the Lexus. I had thought on doing a normal desktop cradle and fixing it in the Tray on the dash for my pda and getting a small dock for my Nano (when the wife buys me it for xmas) and sticking it atop the ashtray. Id like to drill and secure the PDA dock to the top tray but im waiting to get a second one before i do (just in case i frigg it up) kris

Oh im happy. even though i havnt got it yet im happy. wife is happy too which is a good thing. IT HERE i got it AND i love it. Its almost perfect 1. only got one key (see ls200 forum) 2. The bonnet stay arm catch is broken and they didnt fix it. (do like the prolex hydraulic system but i doubt the wife would let me spend £100 on it so soon.

I got my Car yesterday and as usual with second hand cars through dealers i only got 1 key. I am sure this is the master key as it does all locks and remote operates the boot. I can get a blank key from ebay for £10 and a local locksmith will cut it for me. My problem is the electronics. Can i get a used key from ebay £10-£15 and swap the blades and reprogram it to my ECU or am i better going to the Canadian seller who is selling a blank key and electronics for £50. I read the problems with the canadian keys being longer but thats not a problem i cna get it cut down easily. Thanks in advance. Hopefully you can all help me before i loose my keys (has happened once or twice) Kris
