  1. Thanks Chris, I used them when I had my LS400 and they were good, have registered with them for my IS300 and will try them out for servicing etc, was considering joining as Gold member and was curious what the benefits would offer at Lexus Bristol, will ponder the pro's and con's of going Gold. Although my car is three years away from the 10 year discount they did mention they could probably sort some sort of discount out regardless, will have a chat with them when it goes in for it's next service which will be my first since buying the car.
  2. Does Lexus Bristol (Whitby Road, Brislington) offer a discount via the Gold members scheme?
  3. I have used Lexus Birmingham on ebay and they are very good, in fact I was tempted by the sport grill myself.
  4. Yup, parking sensor on/off switch, damn hard to see in the off position as it's all black like the boot trim. The switch was an optional extra for people who wanted to tow a trailer/caravan etc.
  5. Personal choice, but I prefer silver rather than black. At the end of the day though it's your car, your choice.......if everyone did the same things to their car life would be pretty boring, go for your choice of colour and enjoy.
  6. Damn, only just read my emails, clicked on the link and it's gone and I would have bought that as well Many thanks Ian for sending me the link though, much appreciated.
  7. Worth a look at the one you have, thanks. Thanks Rory, seems expensive considering you can get the whole thing including all the sat nav gubbins for little more but the non-nav ones do appear to be rare.
  8. What a great gem to have for you car, must be strange seeing it almost brand new being tested and now owning it, they are lovely cars I really enjoyed owning mine.
  9. As the title says, I want the dashboard centre tray with pop up lid, this can be one with or without the sat nav cradle (I don't want the sat nav itself) Must be good condition. See example pictures
  10. I would use a cutting compound, then polish followed by wax if the paintwork is faded or bloomed, using wet and dry seems a little harsh. Try talking to Alex @ Serious Performance, he'll advise you on the best products to use: http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/News.html
  11. Regarding the ebay item at the start of this thread, the seller has accepted a best offer...............I was going to ask him if it powers up and down, unless it's someone on here I'll guess we'll never know.
  12. Thanks Matt, I never really gave it much thought they were motorised, makes perfect sense watching your vid though.
  13. Didn't realise the factory fit Sat Nav units were motorised so I've just gained a bit more knowledge on the subject. The idea I had was a simple open and close tray, some sort of bracket to slot my Tom Tom into and run the power feed down the back to the cigarette lighter, no messing about with electrics. I just thought it would be neater to slot my Tom Tom into the space when using it, pop the lid down or just slide it out when it's not required. I wanted a second centre, pop up unit to play around with in terms of fabricating a bracket as I don't want to risk damaging the original.
  14. Yes, that's another option I thought about, thanks.
  15. My Sportcross never had the Sat Nav fitted just the tray and lid so no bracketry sadly, like you mentioned buying a spare centre unit without the Sat Nav was my plan and just play around with making a bracket to slot my Tom Tom in, seems the centre trays with lids command high prices which kind of defeats the project for me although I'll keep on looking. Like you I prefer to keep things standard, or at least be able to return to standard hence looking for a spare tray/lid in which I could play around with. My Tom Tom is only about 5" x 3" in size so it shouldn't be too awkward to fit, size-wise.
  16. Think your right Ian, I have tried just about every combination in ebay searches and anything with the lid is expensive, damn I was quite looking forward to a little project of simply trying to build a mounting bracket inside the lid for my Tom Tom to sit. I'll perhaps expand my search when I have more time. Thanks for your help anyway, if you or anyone else does comes across one I would appreciate a heads up although I don't think I want to pay more than £40ish.
  17. That's it Ian, I found that one as well but at that sort of price I'd be better off buying the one ebay at the top of this post, rightly or wrongly I thought the centre tray with lid but no sat nav would be fairly cheap?
  18. Hmmmm, just had a quick look on ebay, a few centre units with sat navs (big bucks) & plenty of centre trays without the lid but I'm buggered if I can find one with a lid but without the sat nav, any pointers anyone?
  19. Thanks for your speedy reply Ian, I'll have a gander on ebay now and see what I can find, cheers.
  20. Quite like the idea of doing something similar for my Tom Tom, how easy is it to source the top tray/lid section as I don't fancy using my existing one just in case I bugger it up. Also does the section come out easily and would there enough room to feed the power lead down the back of the head unit and under to the lighter plug in?
  21. Hi Caspa, welcome back and pleased to hear your enjoying your new IS, looks nice too!
  22. not all, the wider rear wheels were an option. Ah cheers for putting me in the picture Colin, I only wondered as they are really popular amongst Supra owners and I know they were larger on the rear.
  23. Just to expand on Martin' reply..........The level is topped up using the expansion tank (frosted white container) at the back of the radiator, not that easy to see the level lines btw.
  24. Andy, just had a quick look on ebay and found this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-IS-200-1ST-GEN-OWNERS-MANUAL-HANDBOOK-SET-/261240112185?pt=UK_CarParts_Vehicles_Manuals_Litterature_ET&hash=item3cd31fc439
