  1. Thanks for that I was looking at the cheap one and then saw the expensive so was not sure if tere was any difference. I will have a look in the morning and see if I find anything close to your description. If it has not had Flashlube fitted would this have caused any engine damage wear n tear inside? I think ill order one tmorrow and get a pro to fit it unless there is anyone close to me who can help me out
  2. As you know being on LPG has it advantages but when hearing and reading the bad bits :o im thinking I best get it checked out and see if I have one under the hood. So I got several questions 1) how would I be able to tell if I have a flashlube fitted or know what it looks like or where it might be installed ;) 2) If I was to buy a kit which I have seen on Ebay- which is the one to go for and are they simple DIY jobs or should I get them fitted by an expert. 3) Do you guys know where I can get one fitted by a pro saving time and hassle. B) dont to bothered about the cost as long as it gets done properly Currently I drive on petrol now and then (so far only done it twice once for about 200miles and the other 20 miles - since owning the car) to keep the car engine well lubricated as I have heard this can help prevent the valves and engine :tsktsk: but I woudl rather have a flashlube fitted for peice of mind...
  3. Whats annoying is that I was looking for GS MK1 for donkeys and when I get one.... 2 fantastic examples come up together lol
  4. You can get some off Ebay (Bosch set) they seem to be pretty cheap compared to Halfrauds and as for the different size thats normal. Also should you not have 24"and 21" for the MK2 GS300's, I thought that the MK1's were 19" and 21"...
  5. I dont know if TGI is there, but it has a Mcdonalds there its just past the reading football ground This is the Reading comet store where the car park is Unit 4, Reading Gate Retail Park, Acre Rd, Reading, RG2 0QG They usually from what I recall used to have jap car meets every last tuesday of the month
  6. Im coming from Maidenehad and Monday 26th feb sounds good - Where in Reading do you want to hold the meet?
  7. They look good I like em any chance of getting for the MK1 GS's
  8. I have not had my car that long plus Im in gas so always driving on gas, but when I 1st brought the car I topped it up with £35 texaco unleaded at 82.9p roughly 42 ltrs and drove the car back home 200 miles on the motorway. first 80 miles was at 70mph Then I was stop starting for about 20mins atleast due to lane closures for about 10 miles and then 80-90mph last 110miles, and did another 70 miles locally driving around town, and still had about £3 of petrol left before I switched over to lpg - from my point of view that seems good :D Therefore mine was hiting at around 28mpg :) Since then I have not really driven it on petrol. I will try it soon to see how it is like locally and will compare it to my other cars and see it if really that much more expensive and juicey. my previous car - primera eGT modded (zort, header,CAI etc) did roughly 70miles on £10 about 11ltrs local driving
  9. I only caught the last 15 mins from when they where running for their lives from the gas station. Do you guys know when the repeat will be showing?
  10. You know I could have brought it if you only sold it earlier lol I was after one... Spring summer time would be good you can really make it shine and look nice in the sun.
  11. Not a fan of chinese food but more than hapy to meet up at park royal would have to be weekends.
  12. Return it minus cash?!?!? is another idea lol but honest is the best route, you never you kno you might get cash reward
  13. How often would you say they should be checked? with every service or at a certain mileage interval?
  14. Ok, I gotta ask .... if you've changed wife recently, then did you remember to replace the mother-in-law? Sometimes placing one of these on either rear seat can produce a droning or whining sound ocassionally leading to a headache in severe circumstances. Mind you, the droning in mine increases with cornering and especially at speed. I've also found that the droning continues with the engine off and even when in the house. Good luck with your diagnostics!! Paul Did a full replacement a few years ago, even got the service history license stamped by the local registra - they say that aides re-sale but I'm not sure about that. But anyway, current upgrade is running well and no breakdown services required to date. Thanks for the help - ever thought of working for a main dealer? GS Just as an update I thought this may help if anyone else has suffered this problem. The answer lay in the geometry and worn rear tyres. I got a full geometry check with tony (wheels In-motion) and he found a number of areas which were quite a bit out. Most of the noise disappeared once the geometry was right and the remaining noise disappeared once the rear tyres were replaced, There was severe wear on the inner edges of both rear tyres. Hope this helps anyone else who may be getting the droning from the rear. GS Sport. Maybe I was right then... :winky: Looks that way, thanks. Another note I'd forgot to mention for anyone looking for cheapy 275 x 35 x 18's, try Nankang from mytyres.co.uk - £86.00 ea inc delivery :D Good peice of info that. £86 per tyre delivered is cheap, im after a set soon my self wll check em out
  15. Yep they are I was told that and had read up on it prior to buying my GS, But i guess you would not really be able to tell from just looking at the car when you are buying. Im slowly understaing how these car are. I got the mechanic to check all of them and make sure they are all fully operational, If you cant do it your self then its worth gettign them checked properly
  16. Im ok at weekday evening, I think a good place could be either Reading by the football club theres a Macdonald's car park, where they have the jap meets. OR somewhere in slough
  17. Hey guys not been on for a bit I was running around like a headless chicken to get my Brakes sorted out. My steering started to judder when breaking and high speeds and I was hearing some whining/screeching noise as I drove on the right hand side. So I decided to get it checked out and the guy to told me my rear brake shoes where gone and possible pads need changing over. So phoned around and got a set of front and rear disc's with pads and rear hand break shoes all for £200 I thought that was good deal. Gave it t the garage and got it back last night ( I missed it, I had to drive my sis micra!!!! ) all seems good and running and breaking fine so far. The mechanic said my front caliper piston where sized!!! and that not all my breaking system was working and the disc and pad needed changing so am really pleaed that I got a new set on all round and hopefully wont have to worry about it for a long time.
  18. Having seen other MK1 Sport on the net your probably looking at around £4500 with your mileage and the condition yours is in but then again it might go for a lot more if you where to advertise it ebay..... Mine was at £3500 its also a 98 R blue with wide wheels but has the added LPG conversion done to it and was at 125K mileage.... hope this helps
  19. oh sorry I just noticed you put £15 each!!! I thought it was for the lot lol sorry
  20. I phoned up Lexus and they said £450 for front and rear dics and pads!!!! thats way too much for me to pay - i can get the whole car fully serviced including camelt n plug changes Think I might go with the mintex stuff
  21. Im interested in the center caps as mine for some reason are flakey where as the wheel it self are not ( it this normal due to it being plastic) Also is there a difference in colour/shade and size for wider rear alloys? Do you have pics of them if possible?
