  1. Treated the F to some Meguires before going for some lunch today...........
  2. I may be wrong but I thought that the ISF had a much larger drive shaft/diff arrangement that meant that a regular rear seat would not fit in the back. I think this is why Lexus were forced to put in two seats as the high and narrow centre was not sufficient for a middle seat. Could be wrong but an internet search may help - particularly on the U.S. forums. Good luck
  3. Haha. I wouldn't use them now simply for lying. I have the receipt for a 60k ISF service and it includes oil, spark plugs, diff oil and brake fluid replacement along with the other items with 'every 60,000 miles' annotated against them. I can only assume that the guy who served me wasn't the one who gave you the quote, as I was also quoted £895 originally but they price-matched someone on here who also got a £600 major service (from Woodford I think).
  4. Guys, for info I had mine done at Cambridge in July for £600 all in. They were really good too. I'm sure they would price match if you give them a try.
  5. Sounds good Stu. Should be good publicity but might ruin the best kept petrol head secret in recent times! Do no harm to residuals though.
  6. Really like it mate, nice job. Have you lost the radar guided feature? I thought the sensor was located in the Lexus badge.
  7. Doesn't the RCF weigh the same as our ISF? (1800 ish kgs). They have missed the point with this and gotten blinded by comparing all facets with the M4. The simple fact for me is that the build quality will be far superior and, under everyday usage, will have comparable performance. I think the RCF looks fantastic and above all it has one of the finest engines I have experienced. Oh, and it will still feel pin-sharp and be totally reliable when it is 15 years old with 150k miles on its back. The bottom line is this: how good is the ISF? Lexus don't step backwards so how good will this be?
  8. Well said Keith..you big softie (I still look round when I walk away from mine. Especially when it's clean)Lol, mine is rarely dirty as I only use it at weekends....I clay-barred it this weekend too so the shine is especially deep at the moment!
  9. Hello and welcome mate. I was in a very similar position to you and spent hours and hours going over this and the American ISF forum. I couldn't believe what I read - people just weren't having any problems with these cars - not even the thousands of owners in the US. It only took two minutes to see that this was certainly not the case with the RS4, M3, C63 etc. I'm the type of person who gets bored easily with cars - even stuff like evos, STIs and an NSX - but the ISF has totally stolen my heart and I still love it a year into ownership. It's difficult to describe but it still makes me turn around when I walk away from it (they look much better in the flesh btw) and the overall driving experience is fantastic (whether driving fast or just pottering). I think these cars will begin to appreciate as they become classics - not least because the F-brand is starting to take off (LFA is among the best cars ever made and the RC-F is looking good too), but mainly because of the exclusivity and reliability. Anyway, if you can find one go and have a drive and good look with your search.
  10. Welcome and congrats on getting a fantastic car; I really do like them in white!
  11. Warm welcome mate, you will love your new choice...great bunch on here, you will get on with everyone.
  12. Shame indeed but it further highlights just how special this car of ours is!
  13. I'm not sure this is the case. The Ts and Cs state that the warranty is only eligible for lexus UK cars under 10 years old with less than 140,000; however, if the warranty is extending an existing lexus warranty, and provided there is no lapse in cover, the 140,000 mile restriction may be waived. I infer from that, that you can buy the warranty if you don't have one already but the car is less than 10 years old with fewer than 140,000 miles.
  14. I think that's way too expensive; the only real additions for the 4-year service over a usual 'full' service is a check of the tranmssion oil and replacement of the air filter. Amongst the usual full service, the 6-year service I just had also included 8 new spark plugs and a diff oil change. Just shows how much some dealers make over others.
  15. Thanks, I've done over 30 quite a few times now and on a long run it's not too difficult at all. The car just seems to be running better than ever to be honest - it's little wonder that there are so few for sale.
  16. It was the price Peter; well worth the £40 in fuel to save over £200 over the next cheapest quote I had - it was a good excuse for a bit of a drive as well. Although this was my mpg when I arrived after almost 120 miles (the gauge read 3/4 when I set off - couldn't believe it myself):
  17. Major service done (6 year) at Lexus Cambridge. No issue found and I asked them to look hard including a specific check for leaks from the water pump. As I hoped, the car was faultless and the spark plugs looked like they had only been fitted for 2 minutes. A full health check also came up trumps. Great service from Cambridge and what made it even better was that it cost £600 all in (price matched from on here). I just need to sort out an exhaust now - probably the H&S - because I am aching for it to sound like a proper V8 when it's idling. We will see.........
  18. Nice to know we aren't the only ones that think our cars are awesome! It will be interesting to see what happens with the F brand now we have the world-beating LFA, the RCF coming later and perhaps a new ISF and GSF still to come. I'm reminded of the cult status rightfully given to the original M3s and Ford RSs. I would love to see twenty or so years into the future and see how these cars are being traded. I still bet none of them will have broken down though!
  19. Looks awesome mate. Having seen this in the flesh at the plank and legit, I can confirm they look even better in the flesh.
  20. Sorry Harry I have to disagree with you here. Whilst the noise can add to the F1 experience, it has to be about the racing coupled with the pinnacle of engineering. It surely cannot be soul-less on the basis of it being more about the car than driver when, quite frankly, this has always been the case; however, this year, with the cars having more power than grip, I feel that the ratio of driver ability Vs car quality has undoubtedly shifted more towards the driver. Compare the driving ability required this year compared to previous years - watch the in-car footage of a quali lap and tell me this is less about driving ability than previous years. Watch the bahrain GP and tell me this is not as good as previous years. I've seen every practice, quali and race programme this year and completely forgot about the noise now - furthermore, I've seen some of the older 'classic' races from the 80s and early 90s recently and funnily enough, I was reminded that the general theme was: the fastest cars won and races were largely processional.
  21. Welcome to a fairly exclusive club mate, love the colour of yours BTW. I'm sure you will totally fall for your F as pretty much everyone else on here has with theirs!
  22. I've had mine go off a few times too; it will especially do it when I start to accelerate to overtake the car in front as I'm waiting for oncoming traffic to pass - if I get a bit close before pulling out, the F shouts at me! It's also done it in traffic as well. There's nothing wrong with your sensor mate, it's supposed to work like that.
