  1. Hi Pavle! We had here a sunny week. I think the clear sky is moving towards you now..! Welcome!
  2. I don’t like it either as it is in the trunk right now… I just didn’t figure out how is the best way to go as there are issues like ventilation and vibrations. And yes... it was n't a simple thing to do. It took me over 1 month for planning-testing etc and 2 days of hard work to put it all in the car. Thank you both for your kind words
  3. Here is my latest mod. A CarPC consisting of: - Dell Optiplex SX260 in the trunk. - 7" touch-screen in the OEM satnav housing. - GPS navigation - OBDII connection - digital & analog TV - BackUp camera - a touchpad as a secondary input installed behind the lighter - Ipod nano Some pics Hope you like it.
  4. You are absolutetly right. Thats what i have told them. And i really don't trust their "professional" opinion. They say that on all Lexus and Toyota models with LSD they use lsd oil. So that's what they re gone use for my car also... I think i am going to trust what the manufacturer service manual says. My only doubt is if the LSD oil is better but just NOT required for our differentials.
  5. I read on the Lexus manual "DO NOT USE SPECIAL LSD OIL" for the sport IS200 with torsen type lsd differential. I went to a local Lexus dealer and he insisted to use LSD oil... <_< What do you guys with the sport version differential use?
  6. I had the same problem. The only thing i did was tighten the belt. No problems from then (about 3 months). Maybe this is the first thing to try before you buy a new belt...
  7. Thanks a lot aztecbandit! It's a relief knowing its normal. I bet if it was a malfuction it wouldn't be a cheap one!...
  8. I had the engine running at idle and the hood open when i noticed a knocking sound. It came from the throttle body and there was some movement of the round part that has the spring everytime the sound came on. Car seems to run ok through... but i never noticed that before. Can someone confirm if this is normal or not?
  9. Just in case that comes useful to someone... If you unplug the "rear fog" switch then, you don't have headlights. It took me some time to figure that out and a lot of fuse checking.... Position lights and frong fog lights works ok.
  10. aaronabbott thanks! I just saw your suggestion. It seems like a nice piece of hardware and i would probably take your advice, but... there is no shipping for Greece... Any other suggestions?
  11. I had a similar problem with my previous car (Toyota Avensis). Mine wasn't locking it self, it was UNLOCKING it self! Sometimes right after i had it locked, sometimes after an hour or so!... I think that's worse... :D I could hear it, while driving, trying to unlock the already unlocked doors. I went to a Toyota dealer and they changed the whole electrical part of the locking device in the drivers door. That fixed the problem. Somekind of undetectable electrical leak they said. The car was 3-4 months old.
  12. Can someone point me at a decent and properly working OBD scanner with our cars? I've been searching around but i can't make up my mind which one to choose. I am looking for one with USB connection with a PC. There are some really cheap ones from china... Thank you very much for any suggestions! Dimitris
  13. As i said in the 1st post, its about a carputer (that is a PC in the car). So, the only thing going in the housing, is the touch screen.
  14. If you are talking about the housing, mine is the older model. 5" i think. The touch screen i want to put inside, is 7". Problem is in height. No matter how plastic i cut, the upper portion of the 7" touch screen will not be visible. The newer-bigger model housing has les curve in the upper section, thus more available visible height for the screen.
  15. I am in the middle of a carputer project. I already have a satnav housing which is the smaller screen - older version. Problem is that although my new touch screen (7") can by put in the housing, the upper part is not visible even if i cut all the plastic i can cut. So i need the bigger version. Here is a picture with the parts. My question, if someone can enlighten me, is if i can only buy the No.6 part. Will everything else be ok? I saw a lot of pictures and i think that it's probable. Even the No.2 part look exactly the same shape as mine. Forgive my bad english and thank you in advance.
  16. You 're right Wozza Sorry, my mistake. My english is not so good... I meant dipped and fogs…
  17. I am about ready to order those ones: ebay number: 350150153708 -direct link- (if it works...) I am thinking to order 2 of them. One for my fogs too and since main beam and fogs uses the same type of bulb, i will have a spare unit for my main lights just by returning the fogs to OEM. I wanted your opinion. Does anyone have them? Are there any alternatives at this price range? They are really cheap!... Thanks
  18. I 'll check it when December comes in. I dont have any free time right now... If the problem is the pad, did anyone else change that? Is it easy to replace?
  19. This strange thing happened to me twice in a sort time. Screen remains at showing the same thing even though I can change normally the memorized radio stations. If I use the manual radio frequency tuner, then it shows the correct information. :D If I push any memory button, then its tuned ok but the same frucking sticking readout will come on screen again…! Only solution is to use the manual tuning and then RE-store the station to the wanted memory button. If I do that then the specific memory slot will operate ok. (well until it happened a second time the same thing after some weeks...) Does anyone else experienced something similar and what is causing it??
  20. That's an interesting product. I was thinking of buying something like that for the leather seats. Does anyone have any recomendations?
  21. Thank you all for your good words. For anyone who wants to do it, i have to say that the ashtray plastic is a little hard to make the opening as it is thick and it seems it's easy to be broken (I broke a whole piece and had to glue it... ) On the contrary, the plastic peace underneath, that holds the ashtray, is very easy to cut.
