    Front Tyres

I got 28K out of my rears and the fronts still had plenty of life left, except the insides which had worn so had to be changed as well.
  3. Any chance one of his first roles of customer liason can be to give us the low down on all the issues we seem to have with Lexus and seem to get no joy with - i.e Alloy Wheel corrosion, ERR03 warranty, brake caliper corrosion, dodgy paint etc...
  4. Nothing wrong with diesels, just try the 150BHP Deisel Golf and it will change your mind about them. BMW - German Cortinas/Focus with the top of the range ones bringing the exclusivity feeling Lexus - Exclusive but too new to outgrow the "Posh Toyota" badge it gets labled with.
  5. Can you post a picture or post a link to your site where this is listed/displayed I'm looking for one but need to see before I buy
  6. Sounds very technical for just a piece of plastic Especially when i've got Metallica playing So, i simply pull the existing CD out and stick in a new head unit and one of these DIN things and away I go........what about the duel speakers at the rear, how are these connected sothey sound OK........Is there a good thread on here that explains all
  7. I am considering changing my CD unit for an after market system and keep seeing the reference to "Single DIN" and "Double DIN" but don't know what they mean, Can anyone explain please. Also has anyone got a picture of an aftermarket system fitted with one of the shop bought dash kits. cheers
  8. ADVANCE - have you seen stickers on sliver calipers, would black or white be best? The car is Granite.
  9. Thanks for your replies, I think red looks good on a moded car but I have a standard one and it may be OTT for the look i want, yellow also looks good but not as much as the red. Black would be OK with a Black car but i'm not sure about Granite Sky, unless anyone has a picture to show off. Silver with black stickers is what i'm thinking at the moment, Can anyone see a problem with re painting if they look sh*t.
  10. Probably the same person who put the middle lane drivers in charge of the middle lane, and the driver who stays in the outside lane doing 70, because it is the speed limit and you shouldn't be overtaking them.
  11. I have seen a couple of times now where the outside lane closes and merges, the car/van in the lane that is closing, stay in the outside lane and slow down to the speed of the middle lane, at the point where the signs say lanes closes in xx yards, including just stopping and waiting, and not letting anyone past. Quite amusing to watch but it takes some bottle to do it, I like the Zip merging idea and it should be accepted and publicised by highway code,
  12. I'm thinking gold or silver or black Gold - Too flash maybe Silver - Same colour as wheels and may loose definition Black - Not very visible what looks best, i am looking for refined good looks rather than flash boy racer.
  13. It sounds just like the waitress call signal on an airplane, reminds me of nice holidays B)
  14. Same as Others, the roof doesn't make any noticable noise but the tyres are noisy cos of the profile, :)
  15. I had mine changed at 18 months because of this. 18 months later the new unit did the same thing, when I asked the dealer they said no way, its out of warranty. Note that this was only about two weeks after the 3 yr warranty run out. They also said that replacements are only covered for 1yr so mine wasn't covered by even the 3yr warranty anyway, as it had been changed at 18 months. No mention of 4yrs What a bunch of :arrrggg-matey:
  16. I got a bike, but if i wanted a mad mad car, i would look at one of those custom jobbies, can't remember who makes them but they have two Suzuki Hyabusa engines in them, one drives the front and the other drives the rear, they are absolutlely barking. (westfield maybe)
  17. Just a comment on the Power/luxury thing - Before the IS200 I have now, I had a car with just as much luxury and toys and was also much quicker (540i) but chose the IS200 because it just felt like a better car for me. The power difference didn't bother me as it wasn't my priority but the points you mention were Now and then i wish it had more power in the lower rev range (I'm trying to talk myself into the supercharger ) but its no slouch if you keep it screaming, which they seem to love. (Don't know much about the Altezza) My point is tht I think it depends on what you want from a car......why not keep the Subaru and also get an IS200.
  18. Mine is was called Mr Magoo after 3 of the reg letters, MGU. Got a private plate now so not sure what its name is :eerrrmm:
  19. Coming from a slightly different angle here because I believe the experience may be relevant. I have Never knowingly had EBC on a car but I have tried many differnt kinds of EBC pads on a CBR600 bike i used to have, and there were big differences both between the different EBC pads and the Honda originals. The best EBC pads I found were called Gold metal sintered pads (there wasn't any gold in them) that gave a completely different feel to the originals. It seemed more controlled and gave greater feedback to the brake lever, however the stopping ability was no better. One thing though is that they wore down much much quicker than originals and so although cheaper individually, I had to use a lot more of them. One thing I don't understand though is the brakes on my IS are standard and are the DB's, the thing stops like nothing i've ever had before with loads of feel, and in a test for the car with the best standard brakes i saw a couple of year back, the IS came 2nd. So why the need to change, after all its the tyres that limit the IS stopping ability.
  20. Thats right, over here if you even hit someone who you catch on your property, you are likely to get done for assualt :duh:
  21. Hey Texi, you're in Texas, can't you just shoot them over there if they break into your house
  22. I often wonder this. we pay way over the top to keep the main dealer history because of resale value, but if you work out how much extra you spend on main dealer service over the bloke down the road, is it worth it for the extra few hundred you get when selling whats the real economics here
  23. PS I actually caught someone trying to nick an old Orion I had once and stopped them by hitting their fist really hard with my chin The :arrrggg-matey: had a hammer in his hand so I guess I was lucky. I also caught someone trying to nick my bike and thought twice about hitting them with my chin this time and just made a noise so they new i was there and ran off
  24. What is the Auto locking system I though mine only auto locks if you don't open the door 30 seconds after unlocking it with the remote.
