  1. 97.9p every where around my end :) i'm loving it
  2. the vectra, i started having some issue with it after the accident and i lost interest init , didnt want to spend more on it so best thing was to sell it on. but oh well... im still working on this one not got much spare time... hoping to get it sorted by next week.
  3. im a member on a couple of the vW/audi club. It wasnt a plesent experience, a year would go by before any would reply to any ting. Unbelievably quite place.
  4. some interesting and usefull people on here :) any way more abt me me me me Name= Adeel know as = Dee know on many forums as = Crazy - dee age= 22 work = parttime bouncer :) although im not big do alot of outdoor events and for MEN arean events and liquids in manchester printworks, mainly weekends. also work as an claims engineer for an insurance company. bought my own house at 18. been working since i was 16 and studied quite alot and got bord when i got to uni so decided to take a year out and didnt end up going back. Cars..... my 1st project was a Laguna 1.8 RT sports loved the car perfect in every way. then had a vectra another project the best ive had and done. loved it, and still regret selling it. then an audi a6 1.8T quatro, excellant car, but was abit of a grandcar for me so sold it now the is200 loving every bit so far, untill the cambelt decied to go pop. thats me :winky:
  5. sorry my mistake guys , its Valve damage ive got not piston damage, i confused the two. me and my friend who runs the garage, we decided to just totaly strip the engine and build it. just send the head away to be skimmed etc, and replace all valve, the pistons seem oright to me. i will be getting someone else with alot more experienceto check it out for us thought.
  6. you will get damage to the engine with the cambelt snapping but how much damage, i guess will most probbly depend on the speed of the engine when the belt snaps. mine snaped when it was idleing at 1000rpm, so not major major damage only found 6 damaged pistons. now im guessing if the car was running and the engine was running at lets say 3000rpm, you must probbly will get more damage. .................................................... now for me it just matter of finding out the prices of pistons for it, wont be cheap i know what for sure.
  7. jus an update about the is200 bein a 'non-interferance' i dont agree with it and dont tink it is correct. Spent the day at the garage replace the cambelt. Start The engine up, it wasnt happy it was it was rattling, so strip the engine to find 6damaged pistons.
  8. nokia n81 - love it to bits, its got everything does everything, also upgrade the software to the n96 software and now got bbc iplayer too :D love it, only down side the 2mp camera, but ive got back up on that .... the nokia n82, 5mp camera its awasome, its nice and simple and my back up for, u can guess it in one a nokia 3310 :D the old brick fone that you can build a house with.
  9. theres quite a few round the manchester area. so far ive come across the following m5 (manchester) m3 (manchester) scooby (Ashton ) vectra/astra (everywhere) volvo(everywhere) zafira ( i got pulled by for tail gating :D ) (everywhere)
  10. ive got an issue with mt ciggy lighter aswel its got power init, just as soon as i plug somthing init. its cuts out. like goes into safe mode or somthing and regains power when it feels like it. the connections are fine the fuses are fine. i just dont understand it.
  11. what do you mean engine code? As in the engine in the IS200 is a 1GFE? Yeh thats what i mean.
  12. where do i find the engine code on there ?? also i think who ever did he last belt change did abit off a cowboy job. because when i got the car, the air box and the top cover on the cambelt had no screws init, it was held down with tie clips. i had a look at the manual you put up chris, its gone over my head, so i guess its going to the garage.
  13. i'll try and find a how2 on here. if not then hit a trip to halford and buy a book.
  14. I'll not Google it, as a mechanic I'll use the correct terminology, but at least others that don't know can expand there knowledge with Non-Interference (Safe) = snapped belt, no damage through Piston/Valve strike Interference(not-safe) = snapped belt damage through contact of Piston crown and valve (possible camshaft and valve guide damage) true true i agree. if it doesnt rain tomz i think i might give it a go. guess im going to have to take the other belts off 1st to get my hands in. fitting the belt wont be to hard, how would i get the timing settings right on it ?
  15. If you is right..... you is going to get a big big big huuuuuuugggg ahem ahem ok back to reality. my old man had a fiat back in the day. the belt snaped on that and the valve on that were bent not all of then though. thats what im dreading. i havnt got that sort of money to pay out at this moment in time aswell.
  16. i realise how heavy today :) took 3 off us to push the thing into a sparking space after geting it off the recovry truck today.
  17. aouch thats bad. if you had sold me the car that would have happened :D going off the picture - working for an insurance company id pretty much say your on border line for Total loss mate. (sorry to say) i know how these engineers examine cars. its all based on their moods and they do not like modded cars. its going to be abit of work but take my advice, before it goes in to the garage. try and return what you can on it to standard.
  18. supra engine ?? would that require more modding, change of ECU gear box etc?
  19. that sort of damage even if the engine was running at 1000rpm ? the belt was changed at 72k-ish by previous owner. and not its just hit 97k am upset it shouldnt have snapped if it was done at 72 k.. could possibly indicate something else?? was there anything that it was catching on? where was the belt change done? was it a reputable garage?? Im not sure on the lexus what type of valves it has but some engines dont get damaged when the belt snaps.. my old civic being one of these.. more damage is cause when you try and turn it over it was the other type... reduce the risk and get a decent garage to look at it and do some digging on the previous belt strange.. sounds a bit fishy to me.. Going off what your saying. i do agree, i should have it checked out when i bought the car. because the belts never did sound as though they are running smooth...the sound was like, erm sounded like one of the pullies need oiling or somthing. u know like metal on metal but its not got enough grease. it sounded like that.
