Helloooo, this is the story. Im doing to do my stereo lights again with the tiny LED's as i did before, and like before i want a practice run, so i have just brought a top loading cd player with err3 off ebay for the bargain price i think of 99p! now, depending on if i totally mess it up or not, how difficult is it to repair an err3? as if i do the LED conversion right, and fix the err3, i can potentially sell it on again, and make a tidy profit as im sure a blue LED converted cd player would grab a few peoples eyes. Anybody successfully fixed an err3?

when you say centre console, do you mean the air con controls or the stereo?

i found a few on autotrader for that budget, some really nice ones, what yr and mileage you after? 1 have about £11k and im finding it fairly easy to find a 07 with about 40k on it. I agree about colour choice though, although i only like black cars anyway

cant be too careful :) so basically were saying steer clear of diesel, 250 SE-l with MM, Sunroof and possibly cruise control and i got the lot??? will that have then dvd, bluetooth, reverse camera, full leather, keyless entry and GO, iluminated kick plates, HID's, climate control, hot and cold seats?, ummm think thats it for now :)

is it the same as with the IS200, is the sport the only one with a LSD?

Hi all, Ok time has come to trade my beloved IS200 in for a IS220/250. BUT i brought a bas spec IS200 and spent so much getting it to how i wanted so with this one, i literally want the BEST spec. If its going, i want it. What model literally has everything on it, looking at an 06/07/08 plate. i await your help :)

i think this will be a case of agree to disagree. I would say 95% on members on this forum have upgraded air filters and if you do a search they all agree on the performance. They cant all be wrong. Searches on Sparks say the same. I am well aware of the IS200 performance and i know what to expect from the engine. I have had 2 IS's now and my first was much pokier than this once, due to regular servicing. So my point was that by servicing and upgrading i will regain some of my lost bhp.

ha ha i bet, its just when they say "whats a ST220" i had 3 mondeo's before the lex. i love em, think there bulletproof, comfortable and look good. and with the exception of the ST's you get a whole lotta car for the money. i would always go back to mondeos if i had to sell the lex, but if had enough money a would always go for brands like lex/bmw etc over ST. Saying that though, i have a little girl now and its not the most roomy and a saloon boot is a killer. will be thinking about alternative hatchbacks at some point so who knows, i might join the ST club lol

so in summary, a car that has neither of these things done for many years, surely having them done and upgraded to performance should give me a noticeable difference? Rob, dont get me wrong i love the ST's, my mate just sold his ST200 and i was more gutted than him. Problem is though im a bit of a snob, and if someone asks me what car i drive i like saying lexus. Unfortunately saying a mondeo doesnt have the same ring to it. Granted if your talking to a car enthusiast they will appreciate the ST element, but the majority of people that know jack about cars will just hear, ford mondeo. I know thats snobish but hey, each to there own

i disagree with the air filter, i changed my last lex from standard to pipercross and the was a definite difference. I appreciate that these will probably not increase standard bhp but surely as over time a cars bhp decreased due to worn and old parts, by replacing them with new and improved it should increase closer to standard?

ok how noticable do you think the performance would be if i: replace never before replaced air filter with k&n oil and filter change pollen filter change replace never before replaced sparks with denso? any of that make a difference? im annoyed that my mate drove my mrs 1.4 stilo and killed me in my lex. it feels pokey still but not what it should be. any other ideas for standard performance enhancments? tar

and short but sweet response from Grom When connected to ipod cable that takes priority, but you can switch the source with the iphone if you want to change the method. When phone rings, bluetooth will take over and you use the external mic.

Hi fella's, Although i love getting hands dirty and will pretty much give anything (car related) a go :) im no expert and i want to service my IS for the first time. Anyone done a walkthrough before that can guide me through the steps of getting it done?

here is response from Car-putor. Still waiting for response from Grom direct. But seems like it should be ok: Thanks for your interest in our products. I find it very difficult to tell the difference between Bluetooth and wired when in a moving car however the cable method must give better sound quality although it's difficult to tell. You can switch between either music source by quickly switching between CDC mode to radio and back within 2 seconds, this will select either streaming or cable. If the phone receives a call the music will stop playing whichever mode you are currently using and resume afterwards. If you are listing to the radio or CD player and the phone rings you will need to switch to CD changer mode via your stereo or steering wheel controls. When used in conjunction with the Grom Bluetooth dongle I can confirm that the external mic is always used regardless of the way the phone is connected. If you have any further questions then please don't hesitate to ask.

good idea! will have to give it a go, im not holding out much hope as i've read a few things on net that once a iphone is paired with a bluetooth speaker etc all music auto plays through it, bit gutted really as that totally defeats the object of what i wanted to do. oh well i guess i'll have to see what the quality is actually like, it might not be too bad playing from an iphone?

i've emailed grom direct for there input. see i need the bluetooth as on short distances i wont bother with the music, just bluetooth for calls, but long distance i'll want to dock it for music but i'll obv also want the bluetooth capability, and through the supplied mic, not having to lean forward to speak into the phone

have to admit that response has worried me a bit lol. im sure the mic is more powerful than the phones mic, especially at a distance. i'll be a bit miffed if i cant have clear music quality and bluetooth :(

im assuming you got model toy1? Quick question for you, im going to connect my iphone to mine for 2 purposes, bluetooth for the handsfree and on long distances i will connect via the connector so i can play music but not drain battery. Question is, when i have it hard connected and attempt to play music, which streaming method will take priority? as i want the full sound quality of the connector as opposed to the slightly less quality of the bluetooth stream.

looks good mate, think im gonna mount my mic next to the interior lights, didnt want it near the window incase of outside wind noise, but if you say its all good then excellent.
