Are they adaptive swivelling too, I can’t seem to find any info on them in the brochure.

I can't believe it, but I'm having a test drive on Friday, in an IS300 F-sport, can't wait. I remember my IS 250 was terrible for road noise, how's the 3rd gen ones, are they much better, and how do you find the ride. I know I'll find out anyway, but there always seems to be too much to take in on test drives.

I’m in the process of haggling on an IS300H, F-Sport. I love my A4, but the draw of the Lexus is getting too strong to resist, every time I find a reason not to have one, I then find a reason too have one, its driving me mad.

Does the new IS have swiveling headlight still?.

Thats what i’m thinking, regarding the pre-owned cars, I might go along and have a look, nothing to lose, I guess.

I think the car companies need to change the way they test and issue mpg figures, as it is borderline fraud imo. The journalists get on my nerves sometimes too, they expect every car to handle like a sports car, then when it does, they complain that it rides too hard, to be honest, I don’t take too much notice of what they say anymore. sorry to go off topic.

Just out of interest really. I was never that impressed with the heated and vented seats in my IS250, on heated they were barely warm at best, and on vented they did nothing really. Are they any better on the 3rd gen IS?.

What is the self healing paint, that the IS has, may sound like a silly question I know, but to what extent does it actually heal?. Is it just minor blemishes.

I remember supplying my own oil when I had the IS250, at least then, I had some left over for top ups.

Does it make a big differance buying at the end of a quarter, as opposed to any other time. Do they offer bigger discounts on approved used aswell?.

More than Audi too, 2.7tdi is £189 & £375, as a comparison. What do they do on the service, to justify those prices, they do seem expensive.

I really want one now, but I am going to wait until the F-sport drops to around 26k, maybe end of the year, I hope. It is a good price and will probably tempt some away from the premier, so not sure why they have done it, unless Lexus are not selling many of the premiers?.

Is it base Nav or premium?, out of interest.

I’m going with an approved used, as I want the premium Nav and vented seat options. which will probably not be available on new stock models. How are lexus with Px values, is there still room to haggle on the prices?.

Those are impressive figures, I’m starting to think that driven carefully, 700 could be achieved, or is that a bit optimistic?. This will be my next car for sure.

Hi all, Would you mind telling me how many miles you get from a tank please. I have an A4 2.7tdi multitronic, which usually gives around 500-520 miles with normal driving, my IS 250 before that was mid 300’s I think, (was 2.1/2 years ago though). I ask, as I’m thinking of changing to an IS300H F-sport, as I have really taken a liking to them. The interior does it for me, seating position is spot on, compared to the 2nd gen IS, which I was never comfortable in, as I always felt too high up. I know there is another thread on this, but with miles building up, I’m curious to see how much it’s gone up?. Thanks all.

This is an interesting thread, I've had the latest BMW 3 Series, Audi a3, and VW, and now the IS250 SE-L, and I have realised, after a lot of money spent, that on the whole, a car is a car. The IS is far from perfect, the interior buid is nothing like as good as the BMW or AUDI, the brake pads need greasing every now and then, because of creaking etc, and the driving position is terrible, I just cant get to sit low enough and the handbrake/footbrake keeps getting in the way. On the plus side it is refined, but with a fair bit of road noise and fantastic to look at. So I've decided to get a test drive in the new focus, which I realy like at the moment, the CT's suspension is just to firm for me, I just don't know what they were thinking of. I'ts not a bad car, just not perfect or what I was expecting, so time for a change I guess.

Thanks, thats very usefull, my IS250 is not very good though, 24mpg, that's bad, I hope the used CT prices come down quick.

Is the CT better value than, say, a Golf blue motion, and is diesel still the best option for economy. I just think that sitting in a jam with the engine off is appealing, with auto aswell. I know stop start is common now, but its not on auto's yet is it, and diesel will never be as refined as petrol. I keep changing my mind about the CT, at the moment I'm liking it again, but not at the current used prices though.

Hmm, a long shot, but if the steering column has a uj joint somewhere, it could be that sticking.

What I mean is, I like the looks, it's amongst the best looking cars around, but Im starting to think, thats not enough to outweigh it's faults, and I would be stupid to do otherwise, it's just not as enjoyable as I thought it would be.

I,m not that impressed by the car, the longer I have it, there are rattles and the road noise is starting to bug me. I'm starting to like the A4 2.7 tdi and Honda Accord 2.2 d-tec EX now, but I do realy like the Lexus, if only it didn't have those little faults, if that makes sense
