  1. glad to hear all is progressing Barry!
  2. naa... its the standard felt bit, the tray went with the car... as for the rear lights.. erm, i'm very open to offers, collection muchly preffered!
  3. my IS200... Hmm, bought for 18 grand plus change. 4 years and 50k, so 5 services at an average of about 300 each two complete sets of tyres throw in the mods, then sold it for 6500 So, in all, it cost me somewhere in the region of 15 grand.. The new one, well, thus far 250 quid on getting the lock sorted, and a small countries GND in fuel :D
  4. i've got it - simply awesome. The driving takes some getting used too, less arcadey than PGR. The graphics and island are awesome - free roam great, but can get a bit annoying when your trying to get to the next level. Well worth buying, hours played only second to oblivion so far... (but ive just bought viva pinata, so lets see how that goes)
  5. I'm pretty sure ive got some bits from my old IS200 still in the attic, figured i'd post about them incase anyones looking for them. I'd prefer collection only, cos im lazy, and very, very flexible on prices :winky: From memory i have: Standard rear lights (both sides) Black front scuff bars Standard grill also some bulbs, erm, oh yeah and the standard dash tray thingy...
  6. yes, just dont ask the assistants any questions... I went to have a look there, and there was a big promotion - speed camera database pre-installed on all TomTom sat nav systems... Guy comes over... "yeah, i'm thinking of getting the TomTom 510, though how good is its speed camera database?" Spotty teenager: "it doesnt have one" perplexed customer "It says there, in big yellow letters, all over the display it does" Spotty teenager that cant be bothered to turn around to see "nope, not at all, you'll need to pay for it to download it of the web" I walked out, went home, ordered it online with a 20% discount, and it had the pre-installed speed cameras...
  7. There are some differences between the technologies. There are two types of mapping data, NavTech and TeleAtlas, the latter is the more common, used with TomTom. I believe the gadget show did a test with 3 different units, with the TomTom being the fastest to lock onto the satellites. here it is: http://gadgetshow.five.tv/jsp/5gsmain.jsp?...lue%20Sat%20Nav I find the user interface very easy, but then i had TomTom on PDA for years before buying a 'Go 510'. The speed camera functions are okay - but not quite up to the Road Angel, but then its a question of which function is primary for you - GPS or Speed Cameras? The link reads an excellent report on the product.... Again being naive is the operation touch screen? yes. go to Halfrauds - they have demos you can play with (limited) and see the size etc...
  8. I use the Scamera Data Base from Pocket GPS on mine and have not passed a speed camera without a warning coming up, even specs cameras in roadworks. I use the standard one that came with the TomTom 510, and its missed a couple - plus it doesnt have the 'Scamera vans'... You need to bear in mind the Road Angel also has a Radar detector option - but the sat nav is no where near as good as the TomTom apparantly.

  10. Yeah, get a TomTom all in one (Go or 510 depending on budget and features) all you will ever need!
  11. I was taller than the cute blonde next to me ;)
  12. your welcome to drop in for a coffee if your passing ;)
  13. my advice would be to hurry then, it looks like the pound is softening at the moment, and the BoE will raise interest rates again next quarter, which will have an impact.
  14. don't forget - you have to pay sales tax on ALL cars in the US - even used ones - and you do that when you register it in your name... so add at least 7% to any car (inc new and used) prices you look at!
  15. my 7 seater MPV is as well My beetle is too! :winky: infact, the first time i got back in the IS I was surprised how slow it was. Very enjoyable cars to drive though..
  16. Cheers Mat - i had already had a look around where we stayed... Best bet for me was a Xerox salesman! ;)
  17. they actually live in Kamloops. depends what sort of jobs your looking for, i think theres a job going in the local Wendys anything would do! I just don't know if wendy's would pay enough to be able to spend the winter on the slopes!
  18. i'm soooo jealous Mat! I'd love to live there! so if your parents know of any good jobs going!
  19. To be honest, I have no intention of finding out - my trip to Canada cost about the same as the European resorts.. And i'd rather be stuck in deep powder than bouncing down an ice rink!
  20. I guess we're seeing global warming in action here - or so they'd have us believe! Going to make it a new years resolution to go on a snowboarding holiday somewhere! Go to Canada mate - and board on real snow... not all this ice the Europeans like to pretend is nice to slide down
  21. Literally Just got back from the Canadian rockies... hope it finally snowed over here for you, as we had more than our fair share of it! several inches of powder every day... :D
