  1. there was a sticky around here somewhere with loads of exhaust info and pics on it???
  2. Deffo not the GS, will prop hire something again, But, Bubs (who came with us last time) brought a Evo 8 a couple of months ago, will have to try and get him to take it next time ;) Just be careful there if you mean hire a normal car - rather than specifically for the ring... A guy on PH got fined 2000Euro for taking a rental car on the ring - most companies in the area have clauses to that effect and spotters at the circuit! you have been warned!
  3. i think bazza did once upon a time???
  4. I think Elveton (sp?) and Wroughton both do 'Airfield' style track days like Brunters.. I'm assuming its moving due to the ever tightening noise restrictions there? If your doing circuits - my vote would be for Castle combe, Thruxton or Silverstone ;) Oh, and whats the rule on non-jap cars? :D
  5. fair enough... i have seen a few cars on here sell onto to other members... but the majority posted for sale havent had any internal interest as far as i am aware... For mine, it was on here a couple of months with no bites, but sold on autotrader within a week of publishing on their website. At the end of the day, the car, the spec, the market and the price will dictate how easily your car will sell, use everything you can to advertise it to strengthen your chances, and if you really want to advertise here, PM Steve and he will do you a deal on putting yours for sale without you having to be a goldmember. also, id recommend putting it on pistonheads classifieds, not the ideal market, but i got a couple of enquiries through there.
  6. to be honest (and no offence to the forum) but an owners club forum IS NOT the best place to sell a car - after all, 90% of members already have one ;) I found the best place for mine was autotrader - but you probably wont like that because you have to pay for it also? maybe you should just cover your car in for sale notices and park it next to a main road - oh wait, that'll cost in paper and petrol... You just cant get a break can you ;) Looks like your going to have to spend some money to advertise your car for sale.. such a shame...
  7. Hire cars are the fastest in the world... And yes, i used to be more relaxed driving the Lexus... nowadays i always seem to be in a hurry...
  8. as i always say - the faster car comes down to the driver a lot more often than the car...
  9. i agree, just steer clear of prestatyn, rhyl and pembrokeshire (inc Tenby!) We went there in the summer and it was awful....
  10. Maybe so but i feel there is a difference between commercial discussion / negotiation and out and out insult. when i was looking at changing my IS200, i asked about a trade-in on a brand new IS, to be given the lowest trade in quote I had received, including when looking at cars half the price of the new IS!
  11. surely you would never think of lifting something by a thin rod! surely it cant be that complicated to just put the 4 arms (aslong as there either side of the pivot point) in and lift? surely a garage wouldn't need a manual? please correct me if im wrong. Craig The Elise - due to its short wheelbase, light weight and mid-engine, cannot be lifted by the 4-point lift on the standard jack points - it requires a very specific weight balance for that type of lift, as explained in the manual...
  12. Yeah, the guy actually took the manual and stuff and explained about lifting the lotus being a specific art (there is a section in the elise manual)... Whats worse is, the garage is owned by his uncle!
  13. I think Bazza should be able to give you a fair comparison between the two!
  14. http://www.race-taxi.ch/gallery/album/index.html
  15. problem is, that my work dictates i need a big car with lots of room, mpv`s fit the bill if you going to drive an mpv, why not make it fun hey, i dont disagree - if you need the seats there is no better way :winky:
  16. :D not much I can say to that, other than as people carriers go, they aint bad ;)
  17. just in the sake of fairness - the GT3 did back off when the aston moved over on him... But then with the speed the VW pulled away out of the corner and around au rouge, it's going to have some serious machinery underneath... plus, as ive always said, its more about the driver than the car ;)
