  1. Looking around the 'fabulous' workshop forum, I have now seen how to replace the front and rear speakers on my IS200. :D However, for the front speakers, you need to cut the orignals out.. :( ... and need 6.5" replacements... that will fit?? So has anyone any reccomendations to make & model of speakers they have fitted to the front of their IS200? :( As for the rear 6x9's... it is stated that they have a high and low input to each speaker... so 'theorectically', could I connect the 'sub' input to a sub/bass tube and the high to another 6x9?? If not... has anyone successfully replaced the rear speakers, and how did you overcome the problem???
  2. So your saving me a space then Zee????? :D
  3. It's worth mentioning that a car like Lexus (and other, not so good 'lux' brands :P ) A full dealer history is a must. If you try trading a 3-year old car in at a main dealer, you can lose up to 1000 quid if you don't have the right stamps! And as for private sale... ask yourself, would you buy a 2-3 year old Lexus that didn't have the right stamps in the book??? I certainly would walk away from ANY 3-year old car that didn't have a full dealer history at that age! no matter how good the deal..
  4. To get the image the right size, when you give the filename, make sure you include the size of your image..
  5. Okay, cheques in the post :D , but as I mentioned, I won't get there till after 1pm, so save me a space okay ;)
  6. The courtsy car I had at my last service had sat nav, and I found I could program it while moving as long as I took the control out of its cradle and used it as an infra red remote??
  7. <------------- Look! I gave in to the pressure! (and get a 15% service discount now!!!)
  8. The only thing I'd add is a longer 6th gear, to make motorway crusing more refined and economical.

    Ahhhh!

I'd just like to add, that after slagging off the SC430, and claiming it was 'the ugliest car he has ever seen' (what does his seeing-eye- dog think), he then claims it looks like the Audi TT, which is critically acclaimed as one of the best, and most orignal car designs.... Personally, I think he was bullied by a little Japanese boy at school, and has never got over it!
  10. Well, I'd expect it to be the Alzetta again??? Or am I wrong in that assumption?? :duh:
  11. Personally I'm with Direct Line, I could never get through to Lexus Insurance... For a X-reg IS200 SE, when I was 25 with 1 year NCB it cost me just over 1000 quid..
  12. The last time I drove into London I ended up driving round in circles... however, I don't have SatNav... so it was my own fault. At least I got to see Nelsons Column from every possible angle!
  13. Tut tut.... If we were all nice, courtious and considerate drivers..... wouldn't the roads be a nicer place?
  14. I recently read that Lexus are planning to release the Mk2 IS200 in 2005, and the line-up will include a diesel. Personally, I'd much prefer if Lexus offered the Mk2 IS with a coupe and convertable version. As for smaller changes.... the things I want: Stereo controls on the steering wheel ;) Option for full leather :D higher revving engines (on at least the sport) Twin exhaust (on sport again) B) Individual climate control for driver/passenger Option for cassette player to be replaced with Minidisk I wondered what other IS drivers would like on the Mk2... and if there is any way to pass these onto Lexus (you never know) And my final thought.... if it looks anything like the new Avensis ... I'm buying a S2000!
  15. See 'Jap Fest' for my location..... (and yes, the circuit was the main reason for moving here)...
  16. Okay, My flight lands at 11am (Heathrow), 1 - 2 hours to get home, quick shower etc... I could make it to the circuit by 2pm.... would that be too late??
  17. Okay, my apologies to any nice, normal BMW owners... I know there are some. But from discussions in pubs and bars, it seems to be a general feeling.... BMW's are always sitting on your rear bumper in the fast lane of the motorway.. no matter how illegal your speed. They never let you out of junctions.... They always cut you up..... I'm sure it just a bad handful of drivers that give me such a bad opinion....
  18. Okay guys, I'm going to try and make it (10am on a SUNDAY MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Ian.
  19. BMW 3-series are bought by people who think having a BMW 'makes them look cool' ... I know a few 3-series owners. Of course... what they don't realise is that BMW's have a bad reputation for inconsiderate drivers..
  20. Okay, lets be honest, the BMW 5 series is the best in it's class, by a long way. The estate is a serious piece of load-lugging kit, it will be solid, reliable, and all in all, a good purchase. However, do you really want everyone who see's you to think you masterbate too much???? :P Ian.
  21. Nope... checked Sony already. Haven't checked Argos, ordered one from http://www.advancedmp3players.co.uk Thanks for your help anyway. Ian.
  22. Do you remember when personal CD players were all the rage??? One of the accessories you could get was a 'car adaptor kit', which was a plastic tape, and allowed you to play your CD through the tape drive of your stereo. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get one of these for my minidisc player?? Thanks Ian.
  23. Dixons currently have an offer on the IPaq & Sat Nav system 'package'. It costs 950 quid, and contains the Handheld, GPS cradle, CD, Flash card, mounting... Ian.
  24. TDI IS200 Modifications For ECU/Supercharger etc... Also offer bodykits and minor modifications... Ian.
