  1. Yes I echo the above really. Relax is just a marketing exercise. Looks good for advertising but in reality not much worth while looks to be covered. Fortunately the cars seem to be more mechanically reliable than their German counterparts. Looking at other forums, I’m not sure why people are happy with these cars with the faults reported. I guess all cars go wrong, nothing is perfect. Lexus / Toyota seems to give the least trouble of the bunch. I had mixed results with the extended warranty when it was around also but overall I was much more successful with my claims. Unfortunately I imagine your seat will be down to wear and tear again.
  2. I think that was owned by a guy who has replaced it with a new Toyota Supra. He was on the LC500 section of this forum.
  3. The rear spoiler on my GSF is delaminating. It was ceramic coated and well looked after. I wouldn’t buy another Lexus with Carbon Trim anywhere for that reason.
  4. In the current climate 80% charge is showing a range of 220. The predicted range it shows has proven to be quite accurate. AC knocks off about 5 miles and we drive it like a normal car. We mainly charge at home or at one of our business premises, which has been flawless. When we have used a rapid charger, the speeds are impressive. It comes with a 5 year subscription to Ionity which gives you a rate of 23p/ kw and we have seen sustained rates of 230kw. We have a couple on routes out of Bristol but it’s a shame there aren’t more around the UK.
  5. @wivenhoe Just another perspective of Genesis. I appreciate it’s still early days but here goes We have a Genesis Electrified GV70 since March 23 and purchased this over the RZ450e for many reasons, after having a Toyota or Lexus since 2003. Availability was one of them but I wasn’t impressed with the overall package and EV spec. The final nail in the coffin was the way Lexus have handled the Carbon Fibre issue with our GSF. The buying process and Genesis PA have been absolutely fantastic. The car itself from a reliability, built quality ( apart from one issue, see below) point of view has also been fantastic. Range, charging, performance, comfort, app and tech usability has been spot on and overall we are extremely happy with the car. We have had one issue which has really let the side down a bit and that was the boot door being slightly out of alignment. It went back to Genesis to be realigned and unfortunately the service department failed to listen to my request about not washing the car, despite me stating 6 times. Our car came back gleaming but with several scratched areas and damage to two areas of PPF. They also lost our boot floor 🙄. Fortunately the Service manager has done everything he can to rectify this and have covered the cost of rectifying the damage from our detailer and supplied a new boot floor. If you are in the market for a RZ450e but are having second thoughts about it, I would seriously consider an Electrified GV 70.
  6. All very subjective really. Fine if you are cruising up and down the motorway but at 5m + in length, I don’t think the ES lends itself well to daily duties for my commute around Bristol. Parking would be a nightmare. My current daily is an MG4 Trophy. More than fast enough to keep up with the traffic, handles well enough, costs £6.40 to charge up which will give 230 miles and BIK is almost irrelevant. Yes it doesn’t have a premium badge and I am fully aware that EV’s are not for everyone, but it suits my circumstances more than an ES. On another note, lovely fleet of cars you have at your disposal OP
  7. I think it’s more to do with perceived brand image ( as mentioned above ) and also the fact that the ES is only available with one engine. People like choice and if a 2.5l 4 pot FWD hybrid is not the drive train you are looking for, then you are going to look elsewhere. Despite being a Lexus fanboy for many years, I wouldn’t consider one for this reason.
  8. One of the first reviews where the GSF doesn’t compare favourably compared to the RCF.
  9. Fair enough. I’ve had them corrode on both of our IS250s and RX450h. Our 2017 GSF came with silver plastic ones.
  10. I thought that Lexus had moved away from metal valve covers as they corrode and then can’t be removed. I too was disappointed with the quality of the Rz when I saw it in the show room. The paint on the black plastic / trim looked like it had been done with a rattle can and I don’t think I’ve even seen a Lexus which didn’t have gas struts for the bonnet.
  11. I thought the same but maybe it’s because it’s relatively heavy and therefore a similar weight to the RZ, as it’s not a purpose built EV platform ? Still it’s only single motor too so something doesn’t add up.
  12. It would be interesting to know how many RZ450e’s have been sold to customers. I was at a large Toyota Dealership on Friday, collecting a RAV4 Plug in Hybrid for a friend and apparently they had hardly sold any BZ4X’s
  13. A bit of a long shot but do you have the ‘Lexus’ Nextbase front dash cam fitted ? Mine suffered a buzzing noise under similar situations and it turned out to be the big Wi-Fi button on the camera. It stopped when the camera was removed. I wedged a tiny bit of foam in the space around the button and it solved the problem. Mine is currently suffering with a (frustratingly) intermittent metal clanging noise from the right rear passenger seat area. I thought that it was our car booster seats at first but it still happens when they are removed. Nothing in the boot, tools secure, it didn’t happen when the car went in to Lexus for the fuel recall. Extremely frustrating.
  14. Yes I have to agree. Most of the time the sales person has very little knowledge on the cars they are selling and spurt out rubbish information to keep the customer interested. I was told that the new RX500 would have the same 5.0 V8 as our GSF, when we were trying to make a decision between the RX and RZ
  15. Yes I agree. It sounds like a non run of the mill procedure, which they are not interested in.
  16. The Genesis Electrified GV70 needs serious consideration. We have been Lexus customers for 14 years and it was a big decision to buy from another brand. However it’s been fantastic over the 2000 miles we have driven so far. I don’t usual listen to reviews but the majority have been extremely positive about the car. Even Kirk Kreifels who is a Lexus enthusiast rates it highly. No doubt the RZ will be a fantastic car. However if you have any doubts then the Genesis is worth consideration. It’s extremely quick and comfortable, well built with high end materials, charges fast and the range isn’t as sensitive as the Rz when the heating or AC is used. Customer service has been top draw, so far too, and it stands out in the car park.
  17. So sorry to hear this. This is the concern, even if they are not successful driving off with the car, they completely butcher it before leaving 😭. 2 GSF’s now written off… I imagine our insurance premium will go up again with those stats 🙄.
  18. We get a real world range of 200 -220 miles driving no different to how we drove our RX. No effort to try and improve the range or hyper milling etc. AC on full car ( not just driver) and a mix of motorway and town driving. The potential is there to improve on this range but we have no need. We have a charger at home and at one of our business premises, so all very convenient.
  19. You won’t be disappointed with Genesis. Their customer service from pre purchase to after sale has been excellent, with our Electrified GV70. Whether this will last as more cars are purchased, time will tell.
  20. Unfortunately I think they are all susceptible and it’s just a matter of time. Apart from the ones we know about on this forum, I’ve been watching the ones which come and go on AT and the majority all have some signs of delamination. Not the isolated case due to neglect Lexus want you to think it is 😡.
  21. 🤞🏾 it stays that way. Mine is a ‘17 plate, so maybe the later ones were manufactured properly.
  22. I know that some people in America are having problems with the trim on their RCFs but I’m not sure about in the UK.
  23. That’s the concern. I doubt that the new parts are made any differently as Lexus refuse to admit they have a problem. Considering there are only around 65 GSFs in the country, you would have thought that they would have been more accommodating, but their customer service is not what it used to be in my opinion. A massive shame indeed.
  24. Thank you @Arnett . I’m sure it will fall on deaf ears , but worth a shot.
  25. After years of constant nagging, Lexus have finally come back with a ‘good will gesture’ offer of £3600 to replace my rear spoiler and centre console and dash trims. Obviously I’m not proceeding with that 😡. Does anyone have the contact details of the head honcho at Lexus? Worth a letter to express my dissatisfaction with the brand I think.
