  1. Hi all, £43.65 inc VAT for all 3 OEM belts from Lexus OEM it is I think :-D
  2. Hi all, Need to get all three drive belts......should I get genuine ones? Just trying to decide if the belts are worthy of a purchase from Lexus? Or do you think ebay will be fine? Can get all three on the bay for £30 posted. Does anyone know how much they are at Lexus? What would you / have you done? Cheers
  3. havent seen these bulbs but I am thinking of getting them....reluctant to pay £90 for a pair if they dont work to their optimum ability. HIDs 4 U claim to manufacture the bulbs on site......has anyone raised this issue with them? Will the bulb not swivvle in its moulding.....perhaps that would break it? I dunno.....i feel your frustration :-(
  4. Is it the moulding of the bulb fitment that is preventing the it to slot in straight? Have you put it up against a bulb that does fit straight to compare the thread or moulding? When I got my HID kit my bulbs wouldnt make the full 45 degree turn because the o-ring supplied was too thick....I swapped the o-rings for the ones on my halogen bulbs and hey presto....slotted in nicely :-D Just a thought?
  5. Hi all, Looking for a servicing schedule which shows what the manufacturer recommends at each service interval.... Do we have one posted up at all?? Cant find on a search :-( Cheers
  6. Possible....Though doesnt the power steering belt also serve the water pump? I think the water pump may have a double pulley? Even though I have now tightened my PAS belt I still have a kinda whistling noise coming from my engine on idle which also gets faster with revs. Do you think this could be some sort of bearing wearing out? Poss water pump? If my ears serve me well it does seem to come from the water pump and PAS pump area but cant be a belt coz I have adjusted all my belts now. Whats the average life of a water pump?
  7. just pm'd you mate..... Is there much point getting OEM drive belts? Seen all three on ebay for £22....would you advise going for OEM or not bother considering Iill have to pay RRP?
  8. Hi all, I have searched through our workshop and there is a guide to replacing drive belts but being so old the photobucket links are out of date. I attempted to tighten my Power Steering Belt this afternoon but couldnt quite work out how. Now I have tightened the bolts that I loosened back up again my belt is actually more slack and slipping worse than before. Can anyone please talk me through how to tighen the belt....what bolts to loosen, and where the pulley pivots from so i get a lever bar in the right place for tightening back u? Reluctant to drive with the belt so slack.... Thanks for your help Bill
  9. Cheers all....a great help....here's to a quiet engine (hopefully)
  10. Righto.....Its def too loose....squeeled on full lock today! Will get my head under the bonnet....what should I look for when deciding on a replacement belt or not?
  11. I have this hissing...also as you said coming from the drive belts. Did you get it sorted? **Ormi** Do you know what this could be owing to your experience? Really does let down a reputably quiet car!!?? :-( Could it be a belt, either too tight? Or too loose? I can get under the bonnet myself to sort it out if its just a case of correcting belt tensions?
  12. **OILMAN** Just used the "Service Pack Recommender" feature on your site.....none of the oils in discussion on this thread feature?? Is that coz we are all talking about upgrade/performance oils on here? Will I be ok with your 'Motul' (LEXUC7C) recommendation service pack for my IS200? Is it worth me paying the extra £10 for the Silkolene Pro S stuff??? I mainly make short trips around town with one or two bursts round the M25 each month?? Cheers - making a purchase this week :-)
  13. Did you just run those off of the existing loom for the boot light?
  14. And they have anti-glare bulbs <3 :D Does anyone know if these anti-glare bulbs will fit all kits? Basically I got my kit from another supplier (HIDS-direct.co.uk) and I want to know if will be able to buy just the anti-glare bulbs from HIDs4u?? Will the plugs be the same?
  15. DIY - Plenty of people have....next on my list to (with additional angel eyes)
  16. Very logical from TigerFish....and I put his theory into practice last night - Going along at a cool 15-20 mph in a straight line and all of sudden she decided she wanted to go sideways!?!?!? Turning TRC off is the only way provided you can control your throttle and steering well :-)
  17. Yeh I had a Fiesta prior to the Lex, it was so much easier in the snow. Traction control also doesnt help in the snow....I found turning it off and controlling the throttle yourself is a lot easier. Like you said, high gears and minimal throttle. Otherwise just stay at home!! hahaha
  18. Hi all. Being Kent - the area worst hit with last nights snow - I had the opportunity to use the snow button last night, but struggled to notice what it actually does??? My IS is also my first RWD, does anyone have any advice or techniques for best manouvering in the snow?
  19. Prob just need to replace your pollen filter mate....Mine is doing the same at the mo, waiting for a filter from ebay hopefully will cure it.
  20. So you need "heat proof" paint for the headlights then? I cant just buy a can off the shelf in Halfords?? I wanna do my headlights same as the rear lights (a matt grey to match the dark chrome on the back). Are both your headlights and fogs sprayed matt black?
  21. Lexus are simply "premium/prestige" Toyota's... Almost EVERY part I have replaced on my Lexus has Toyota branding. With servicing, I agree with Ormi, you're simply paying for the badge on your car!!
  22. Hi all... Had a little unfortunate knock when reversing off the drive the other day - DOH!! Nothing too major but one corner of my rear bumper has come away from the rear quarter slightly. Can someone tell me how to remove the rear bumper and also notify me of ALL the clips and mountings so that I can inspect it to see what (if anything) has snapped causing the mis-alignment? Naturally, I wanna take it off and put it back on as straight as it will poss go until I can afford paintwork. I may need a new bumper but wont know till I see if any of the clips/bolts are damaged. Same for the lights....the cluster is now a little loose even though not damaged and still road legal. Cheers for your help Bill
  23. Cool thanks for puttin up the pix fella...appreciate it :-)
