  2. thanks Jay, I have seen that one, the guy is asking too much £27+P&P. I missed the last one a few weeks ago on bay of e, that was 19.00. BTY, your key worked, I did it within 3 mins many thanks
  3. Hi guys, I need a set. looked on bay of e, didn't find any, and a few other places as well. is there anyone has a spare set of the handbook in a leather case? would pay for it and P&P of cos. pm me or leave a contact details. 2003 ideally.
  4. that's not bad, don't forget to try the ones not on the "compare.com" such as directline and a few others. some times it works out a little better. Good luck or ask your company to add your name on to their business insurance (cost difference is very little)
  5. Hi mate, I have a RX300 on LPG for a few years. it's normal. don't worry about it, the petrol gauge position is calculated. just carry a 5L of petrol in your boot. you can reset it's position by taking the battery lead ( - ) off for 5 seconds if you really really want to know how much petrol you got in the tank. or just top 10 pounds every 1st day of the month, which I told my missrs to do. he he he
  6. That the heat exchange, uses the coolant to warm the gas before it's going to the engine. (Hope this is plain enough)
  7. don't know if the silicone spray would help. try to find out if the squeeks coming from the window run or from inside the door. if its from the inside open the door card and spray it good luck
  8. Guys, can I use the silicone spray on my windows inside the door glass run?????
  9. stolen the inside materials from the cat???? who would be able to do that? costs more than getting a new one. it won't affect the MPG in my view, However, get one on ebay from someone breaking up, cost next to nothing and get it ECU reset after you change Cat.
  10. It’s hugely depends on your driving style - my mood in my case, I can get anywhere between 125 to 380 on a full tank on my 200 auto. However, I worked out my average is about 25MPG (mixed roads – half motorway/half city driving) I would do a few more tanks and get an average, and then you will see if anything wrong with yours. Clear the ECU error code 1st. Good luck mate
  11. Hi guys, got a iPhone for Xmas, not my kind of toy, but thankful anyway..... here is my setup at the moment: HTC windows phone with a holder charges and holds it in place and uses FM transmitter to my Radio to be able to listen to my music and audio books on the move, also use it as a hands free thing to make/take some calls. sound quality is not fantastic but dose the job. how are you guys doing this with your iPhone in your IS???? I want the solutions be able to hold/charge the phone and be able to listen the music and use the phone. (hopefully not too much to ask) Felix
  12. LOL I had a manual 5 or 6 years ago, loved it. I had a RX300 auto 2 years ago Loved it, I have a IS 200 auto now loving it. it depends on your mood mate. YES Maunal is a bit rough, auto is super smoth bit slower, but much easier cos you can just set the speed and go. 1st time I was driving the IS Auto from london back to B'ham, it was effortless, set on 90 and felt got home in half hour. Brilliant.....
  13. call your dealer, only a few quid. have a good look a workshop manual, buy a DVD or CD one on ebay costs less than 5, or just ask the lealer where is it on the car if they are helpful. good luck
  14. me too... I am so sorry mate. will buy you a drink if we meet up, I work in B'ham.
  15. Hiya mate this my experience: I had the same blue smoke last 3-5 seconds in the cold morning, so asked around, the car looked at by someone "know" what they are doing, most of people said it's the Valve stem seals so the engine top rebuilt --- took 1 week and £800 got the car back, it seems ok for 1 week and got the blue smoke again...... called an old firend in B'ham dealer, who told me change the PVC valve (can't remember the name something like that) cost £2, chanaged myself. smoke is gone for good...... try the PVC valve 1st, cheap and easy to do, if it doesn't work, try something else. Good luck mate
  16. end of the story: got one from the B'ham dealer, guess what? £57.25 inc VAT. 144.55 for fitting it. so got the battery and fitted it within 5 mins. Job done, starts and runs perfectlly. many thanks guys comfirmed: lost Trip A and B and all radio settings and clock...... no radio code needed. so what.............
  17. does it fit and is it safe to have fatter ones? any views everyone?

  20. Hi guys, Read quite a few of the posts regarding the oil here, like: which is the best engine oil to use In my case: 03 reg IS200 with Auto box, done 56K full synthetic seems to be the must which brand and which grade would you use and WHY ? many thanks
  21. lose the ODO? I suppose only the trip A and trip B, not the total. anyone has any idea about the size of the battery? thanks
  22. thanks guys? what's the size of the battery should I get? any Recommendations on makes and where to get the best price? also, to change the battery, will I lose the info in the EMU and the code for the radio (if there is one which I don't know) many thanks again..
  23. Hi guys, London 20:00 Friday night, I should on the way back to B'ham 1 hour ago, said good bye to my friends and went to the car park, turned the key: ta ta ta ta ta ta ta ta ta ta........................... again ta ta ta ta ta ta ta ta ta ta........................... Not a sound of engine turning at all. there is something I noticed when I got in the car: the smell - smells like the battery acid (quite storng) called the RAC, jump-started it I didn't stop in any service to have a rest, went all the way to B'ham. Question is: is this a dead battery or the starter mortor's teeth worn out or something else? cheers guys.
  24. thanks guys, interesting reading.... the way forward for me: Get IS serviced by a ind for 100, get the OME cambelt parts 120. labour 150 total: 370 I don't think the the stamp worth anything nowadays. P.S. once my brand new MB E-class (company car) got service by the MB Bham, returned with totally no oil in it.
