  1. I purchased this product a couple of months ago. Works wonders! I believe it kills the bacteria in the vents and that's what gives unpleasant odours in the car. You insert a tube into the vents, then spray until the foam comes out the vent. Simple to use and the odours have not returned 2 months later. Only negative was the slow delivery
  2. Hello John, you are running the same tyres as myself I find the ride to very smooth and compliant. I did also own a Jaguar (S-Type facelift) many moons ago, had the best ride of any car I have owned, nothing rides like a Jaguar. Unfortunately it's very difficult to make an SUV ride and handle like a car.
  3. Agreed, I think op wanted an SEL without air though. This example has been on sale since November, I wonder what's wrong with it?
  4. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202006150144953?fromSavedAds=true&advertising-location=at_cars Blue! Nice mileage as well!
  5. Facelift car has no nav, screen is smaller which is why rear camera screen is in rear mirror, and there there is no remote touch. Doesn't appear to have luggage cover either (make sure you are sitting down when you check the price of a new one) 18 inch wheels so maybe better ride than 19 inch? The pre facelift is from a dealer so you will get a warranty, it's been sale on since 7th March, needs tyres and and suspension, but could always negotiate those as part of deal. They have a few RX for sale as well
  6. I have it on my SE-I, so would assume an SE-L premier would have it... Roll the window down half way and run your finger on the edge of the glass and you will feel a ridge, if you look closely you will see 2 panes of glass. It was my pdr guy that pointed this out me. The video link probably explains it better than I can.
  7. I had a similar dilemma. You won't ever regret going for the newer car with more tech and stuff you don't really need. If you bought the 400 you will always think what if... Depends how long you intend to keep the car. The road tax/ved is half the price on the 450...... No cambelt to change Keyless start, entry, bluetooth audio (400 has tape deck) Double paned glass Mirrors auto fold when locking You can get radar cruise, heads up display. Maybe try both and see which you prefer, you might prefer the drive of the 400. I told myself the 450 will cost less to run in the long term it's more refined, more tech better safety and be easier to sell when it's time to move on. Plenty of deals to be had, I would imagine traders would be biting your hand off after a few quiet months
  8. Perhaps I should have elaborated about the brakes in my last statement. I can feel the transition between the regen braking and hydraulic brakes. To me it doesn't feel seamless and when the hydraulic brakes grab in my opinion they feel sharper than I am used to
  9. I bought one recently. I avoided an SEL as I wasn't keen on dealing with air suspension issues down the line as replacements aren't cheap. You can identify these by the 'Hi N Lo' in the cluster and a height switch on lower dash. It is possible to purchase an SEL without air however these are quite rare and tended to sell quickly as you get all the rest of the goodies, Mark Levinson, DAB, vented seats, etc, some even come with radar cruise and head up display. Replacement LED headlights units are expensive, but you don't hear of them failing. According to car wow warranty wise RX450h is the most reliable car you can purchase Maybe I should have taken the risk with an SEL... Can't think of any specific 450h issues just usual second hand checks, HPI, Mot history, service history SE-I spec comprehensive you get electric seats/tailgate/folding mirrors, keyless entry start, parking sensors all round, reverse camera, 6disc changer, heated seats, xenons, everything you need, there is a spec below but am not too familiar with what you miss out on. No cambelts, chain driven. Service intervals every 10k. Main dealer service costs not too bad and includes hybrid battery check. You can always get the car serviced else where and get hybrid check done separately for £59, this will give you warranty on batteries for year. You can renew the warranty for up to 15 years. Mpg currently sitting at 36 mpg on current tank, I have eco mode switched off though as I didn't like the throttle response or lack of it rather. Typically seem to get 31-35 around town, and up to 40 on a run. Not had a winter with the car yet so can't comment on winter economy. Bridgestones only rated 'e' for economy so room for improvement Seems a really serene drive so you tend to waft and cruise and relax rather than but your foot down. Gearbox is unusual is an ecvt no gears, no noise unless you hammer it. Heavy car so rolls a little in corners, does suffer from a little torque steer at times, brakes are quite sharp Hope this helps
  10. Lexus seem to be on a roll at the moment, most satisfying brand to own according to Honest John https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/honest-john-satisfaction-index-2020/honest-john-satisfaction-index-2020-the-results/
  11. I have a 450h, and have had up to 35mpg in town, my previous car a Mercedes clk 320 cab was doing 18 on the same journey. Motorways I get about 32ish, I do like to make progress but am no Lewis Hamilton. Overall I think very impressive for a 2.2 ton suv with nearly 300bhp. The long term average (I haven't had the car long) is 30.4mpg. This is my 5th Lexus and the most economical model I have owned. I once owned an RX300 series 2 and that was 16-18mpg urban and it certainly not have the performance to justify that level of mpg. I have eco mode switched off and climate control on auto. The car is running on Bridgestone Dueler which are only rated 'E' for economy so I'm sure there is room for improvement if I tried Fuel consumption on a 70 mile journey, Aylesbury to Barking, A41, M25, M11, A13, the graph only shows last 30 mins
  12. I questioned the original quote which was ridiculous and asked about the labour. I received the following reply. 'There are a few different methods of updating the navigation which varied between vehicle spec’s and ages however most updates are usually around £230.00 to carry out.'
  13. The quote didn't separate parts and labour it was from Lexus Woodford
  14. £160 is a real bargain, my local main dealer has just quoted me £384!
  15. Thanks for the input John, seems these Michelin Cross Climates are nw the tyre of choice
  16. Does anybody suffer from torque steer on their RX450h? I know the weather is rubbish at the moment but a couple of times today had that violent tug from the wheel when attempting to pull out a junction quickly. Most of my cars have been rear wheel drive so this is a new sensation for me Is there a way to lock the car in 4 wheel drive mode to reduce the torque steer? Don't think it's an issue with the tyres as its running Bridestone Duelers all round, although I'm open to suggestions.
  17. I don't know if you are still looking but there is a company called orchard engineering that can refurbish the shocks for £75 each. Search 'Orchard engineering' on ebay or Google and you will find them. Good luck
  18. I don't mind spending a few quid on parts, but that is ridiculous, I will make do with the xenons on the SE-I
  19. I have collected my 3RX today and can confirm the car supports A2DP with no issues
  20. Evening all A little update, I have put a deposit down on a lovely example with full main dealer history. I chose an SE-I in the end. I missed out on 4 cars in total, a lot of vehicles listed for sale were actually sold, I collect on Friday!
  21. Thanks for the input, current mileage is only about 5k a year was just curious about 'real life figures'. 30 mpg is brilliant certainly a million miles better than the ML500 I was considering
  22. 30mpg average over 25000 miles is very impressive, that's a good 10mpg up on my current average
  23. Good evening all! I'm looking at purchasing another Lexus, this time a RX450h gen 2 pre facelift. Initially I decided an SE-I had everything I needed and I didn't want the complication of air suspension. However I have found a few SE-L models without air suspension. The main differences appear to be, heads up display, Mark Levinson audio, led lights, extra adjustments on seats and radar cruise. Is the heads up display worth the extra? And does anybody know the led lights compare in terms of brightness to the xenons? Out of interest what is the typical mpg? I've never owned a hybrid so am not familiar with how to get the best out of them. Any common issues with these? Are flakey alloys still a Lexus issue? Thanks in advance!
