  1. LOL I already knew the price but didn't want to be personally reponsible for causing you distress by posting it on here,it may be worth putting a wanted ad on the forum or have a look on ebay for a breaker The glass alone is around £250 + for some reason they are like hens teeth!
  2. Hi Steve I have a MkII and the same thing happens occasionally to mine. I too can confirm that there are no leaks or damp in the interior, it clears when the aircon has been running for a while. Happened on other cars I've had with aircon and I keep mine on all the time. Filters might be a cause! not sure. Cheers
  3. This is the place to buy them, http://www.roofbox.co.uk/car-snow-socks/ASsize.php Alternatively Goodyear Snow Socks can be bought through fleabay [item Number: 380261006680] or directly from the Company [Credit Card sales on 0208 441 1436 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 0208 441 1436 end_of_the_skype_highlighting begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 0208 441 1436 end_of_the_skype_highlighting] and they are only £49.99 with free postage :) I understand that Goodyear contravened the patent on Autosocks and thats the reason they no longer make them, although they are on eBay they are discontinued stock.

  5. Hi I seem to recall reading that the fuel filler cap needs to be screwed on tight, at least 3 clicks! or the car may not start. It might be worth checking! try searching the site. Just clutching at straws.
  6. Hi Just had one fitted for my MK2, including sports cat for £600, http://www.mijexhaust.com/index.php/form-submitted.html Cheers Gordon
  7. Hi Just had a new Stainless Steel exhaust, full system including cat from these guys; http://www.mijexhaust.com/mij-exhaust-system.html My cat had failed and wouldn't pass the MOT so I bit the bullet and had a new complete system custom made for £575, must be cheaper than Lexus Dealer. They are very helpful give them a ring. :winky:
  8. Hi The diagram definitely shows there are no fixings!? I have a Mk2 and will have a go and see what happens. Cheers
  9. Thanks for that, but I have already tried pulling on the cushion and its fixed somewhere ? only want to get at connecter for abs wheel senser and check it out before replacing it. Which manual did you get this out off as my manual dont cover that? Cheers for the reply Don Hi Don Its off a CD from ebay. It looks like your not pulling the seat up hard enough! Cheers
  10. Hi According to the manual you need to remove the seat cushion by pulling it up, then remove the 3 headrests, then release the seat belts from the shoulder guide, then the bolts under the head rest, then the 4 bolts which you uncovered under the cushion. Hope this helps.
  11. They may grip well but don't add anything to stability! Check your pressure for a start. ;)
  12. Hi I tried looking at the wiring diagram for you but it doesn't look at all simple. The radio in my GS300 SE 99 a mkII varies the height of the antenna depending on the station tuned to! you can watch it alter as you change channels. The diagram shows three lines from the radio to the auto antenna control relay and motor, ANTB (1) W-R, ANTA (2) W-L and ANT (5) B-W. Its not clear which wire does what! W = WHITE, B = BLACK, L = BLUE, R = RED Sorry I couldn't be of more help, I suppose you could try powering the wires in turn to see what happens but there's the chance you could blow it I suppose! Do this at your own risk if no more information is forthcoming, good luck. Gordon
  13. Hi Sunny I'm new to Lexus having just bought a 99 GS300 SE, it has a couple of faults but nothing I can't sort out and looks like a 2 year old car inside. Thankfully the cam belt had been swapped about 2000 miles before I had it, but the idiot that changed it heated the crankshaft bolt and ruined the damper. I just thought I had a squealing belt so I swapped it without checking the fit as it was new but the squeal came back! So I bought a Lexus belt from the dealer only to find I could put it on without releasing the tension on the adjuster!!! So I went back to the dealer (Lexus Nottingham) for them to have a look as to why the belt wouldn't fit. The parts guy spotted the problem instantly, that the damper was missing the outside part. This wasn't obvious if you had never seen one before as there was still the groove part on, (I wondered why the pulley was rubber?) You guys that have changed one will know what I mean. I was going to put one of those alloy crank pulleys on but after reading the horror stories I decided to buy the genuine part. 1. If you search youtube you will find there are videos on there like this that will help you.2. By taking off the front engine cover you can easily see the belt. 3. The 'fan' belt is the easiest one you will ever change, it takes seconds. 4. See above. 5. Don't know ! 6. I used a hand impact wrench from Machine Mart or they are on eBay like this item 190400304542. They are worth their weight in gold it will make short work of removing the pulley bolt, believe me no messing with crankshaft holding tools or using the starter. Just use an impact socket with this tool. Good luck. PS I'm loving the GS300 SE Gordon
