  1. yes mate, it's spot on for what i bought it for. it's soul destroying having half the torque and 100 less bhp than my MR2 did by the time i'd finished with it, but i bought it so i could put mountain bikes on the roof, and drive a car i enjoyed to work. which is exactly what it gives me. pm coming your way lol
  2. hi mate, welcome to the club. i recognised your username from the MR2OC, i had a red rev 3 on white kei office wheels that started out NA and got turbo'd (amongst many other things), posted as stevie_mr2 and was regional rep for the northeast at one point. you might remember me, might not, i lost interest in the club and hadn't logged in in about a year when i bought my altezza lol. only had mine for a month or 2 so i'm in a perfect position to answer your questions.... you might not like the answers though lol. sat nav - you dont update it, transplant the whole system from an IS or forget it CD player - famous for eating CDs, not seen someone get their cds out of one in all the threads i've browsed on this forum remote - its japanese, so if you really want it you need to find a breaking altezza with one... and it'll still be no use to you, because its japanese TV- you hit the nail on the head, it's designed to run off japanese bandwaves. i'm gonna take my screen out and retrofit another one in the enclosure, but again i haven't seen a working altezza screen here or anywhere else for tv. mine gets a lovely snowstorm though other things: diff oil and gearbox oil. 5w30 fully synthetic if you can get it. stick anything else in and your vvti will take ten years to operate... yes i'm serious, it has a noticeable effect - mine did air filters - mine had a TRD in when i bought it, can't speak for the worth of other filters really. no IS ones wont fit, they're a different shape - you need a 3sge altezza specific one, it should be rectangular spark plugs - all iridium plugs do is prolong life. but they're easy to get hold of, so go for it
  3. yeah, and times change. it's slow. what mods do you intend on doing for "even more bhp", short of forced induction? please don't mention the 1-2bhp per mod you can get from an exhaust, decat or air filter.
  4. Thanks for that and what is throttle cable and where is it, is that at top next airfilter, is that same thing to do the idlling up or down, thanks thats the one, attached to a little "springy wheel". if you press the "springy wheel", you will see the cable move (or get a mate to press the accelerator). this will show you which direction you need to tighten the cable in to take any play out of it. use the two nuts to do this, it should be clear when you look at it. no it won't alter your idle, but it will make your car a lot livelier and your throttle a bit more responsive. first thing i did to my altezza.
  5. so buy a thicker rear ARB. yeah lower it, cos at the moment it looks too high. simple as that
  6. throttle - tighten your throttle cable.
  7. at work that day and couldn't justify the travel anyway. will join the site though.
  8. i'm sure a few people will come along from the lowering thread to tell you it looks chavvy lowered that far soon mind...
  9. ...or use wd40 and tissue paper to remove the majority of the crap and then use elbow grease and autosol
  10. i think, that this must be the seven billionth topic on the internet on fuel saving powerchips. if you could get that bhp ad saving that easily, it would be fitted from the factory. and people wouldn't pay hundreds of pounds for remapping sessions. end
  11. a couple of my neighbours do this sort of thing a lot - they frequently change diesel cars and have them tuned, but both do silly miles so stick to diesels. blocking off the egr doesn't cause problems on any other cars that i've seen it done on, it should also make your mpg and performance a little better. if it does throw up an error code, who cares. unblock it, disconnect your battery for a bit, and start again.
  12. nice looking car mate, same bumpers as me :) sitting nicely on the coilovers as well, can't wait to get mine.
  13. i don't drive like a nob, but in situations like this where the person is obviously blissfully unaware i just carry on soldiering on in the inside lane at whatever speed i was doing. 9 times out of 10 there's no one for 100 feet in front and by the time you start the manouvre to overtake the next car which is driving properly, they still haven't noticed anything and are sat right where they were, only in your mirror now. used to boil my *****, now i just let it go.
  14. here's mine, currently on 40mm springs. as you can see, the general rule with springs is you end up with reverse rake (the front higher than the back). happened to the last two cars i've had as well. i'll be buying coilovers in the near future.
  15. that's because it was in edinburgh, belonging to john Fallon who runs Private Imports, who sold it to another guy called ray, who lived in edinburgh, who then sold it to me. :) cheers for the compliments matt
  16. done here as well - definitely worth doing. i did get an increase in induction noise as well, and much prefer the power delivery - i found it only felt like a kick because it felt like it was being strangled just beforehand. much happier with the power delivery now.
  17. so you've done everything apart from what you were reccomended to do?
  18. its opinions like that "chavvy" one that give owners clubs the gash reputation they've got across the internet...... i'd post pics of mine but i doubt they'd help you as im on 17s mate.
  19. i got the thule roof bars with the standard is200 / altezza fitting kit, then two of the top of the range bike holders - the ones that secure the tyres and the frame. cost me £250 in total, but i think thats a small price to pay to have my £1300 bike safe on my roof, and my car completely unmarked even though i frequently put the rack on and off.
  20. you mean like this? yeah, i have. but it's not a stand alone modification, and on the wrong car will look ****. i've been into the JDM and USDM scene for ages now. if you wanna know what sort of thing to look at try blog sites like hellaflush and stanceworks. i've got a drift-alliance style windscreen sticker as well.... which will fit the car a lot more when it's got an aggressive rake and is millimetres off the floor. which i'm sure 99% of people on here will hate, but i'm far from concerned.
  21. i have an RS200 and i'm fully aware of how it works i presumed that he meant what do you do with the end of the vacuum pipe. having a loose vacuum pipe in your engine is likely to 1. make your car idle like a bag of **** and 2. let air into your pcv system.
  22. block it, or you've just introduced a leak into your pcv system. think about it, sucking in unfiltered air is bad.
  23. good good :D had a blitz nur spec-r on my last car and the bung never went anywhere near it, i have a hatred for them lol
  24. i ordered some new plugs yesterday, FAO of people looking at this topic - use the link provided, because typing the part numbers into ebay search doesn't get much, and if you type in altezza you get reccomendations for 1g-fe parts, not 3s-ge.
