Well I had an RX previously, and was initially going to go for the GS450h when it came out in May last year. Your car was the first to arrive at Stockport in F Sport guise and it certainly is a beast. I test drove it end of May and I loved it but then the RX F Sport came out in June just as I was going to buy the GS and I completely loved the look + higher driving position including the winter capability. I live in Yorkshire so needed a 4x4 to get through the snow, which the RX does very well. I actually ended up buying from Stockport as they gave me a better deal after stumbling upon the dealership while on a business trip.

No worries, its still very relevant due to the car being rwd.

I think the dealers may deliberately be trying to sell them off hence the very low price to make way for the 300h. I think the 250 may have been a bit of a bad choice by Lexus. I would say that the depreciation wont be too bad in the next 4 years. Im sure it will slow down sometime soon.

The prices seem to have dropped like a rock. Theres a 13 plate GS250 F Sport with 7k miles on it listed for £25,990 in Croydon. Im sure the car must have cost £40k new. £15k in 6 months is insane! Hmm might consider one for the wife. Hows the power? is it enough?

Sorry to hear that! Hopefully itll be gone soon. BTW, just a quick question, were you parking with 2 wheels on the pavement? Seems these vandals touch everything on the pavement but wont get too close to a car parked on the actual road.

I recently found last winter that sticking a few 25kg bags of rock salt and coal really does make a difference. Have about 7 in total I think. I might go and test drive them in the winter when the snow falls!

I understand what you mean as I have a hybrid now. Im just wondering what the 2.5 4 pot sounds like compared to the 3.5 v6 in my RX. Also, something me and my wife just discussed last night. Will the IS300h be better in the snow due to the extra weight at the back? Current C220 is actually pretty scary sometimes. Wont go up my driveway at all (about 20 degree incline).

Im just saying that something is expected to go wrong in the first year. But, on a more serious note, try taking your car to the dealer and ask for the same software to be wiped and put back on, see if that works.

Well its going to be an F Sport. Red/red, possibly the only one in the country in this combo. I thought the 250 suited the sporty characteristics more, especially with the growl once it got going. The thing I dont realise is, how come the 300h seems slower than the 250 when it has more power, even though the torque is immediate?

OMG this is like the first year of a completely new car right? what did you guys expect? Seriously, even BMW and Audi's have problems in the first year

Hmm well, in a dilemma now! My wife's car is in need of a change. Shes currently got a 2005 Mercedes C220 CDI Elegance. Now I would have swapped it for a new Merc but after driving one, we both couldnt get to terms with it. Its a nice car but, nothing stood out. Bit of a bore in my opinion. Then, I saw the IS while popping into the Lexus dealership to pick up some rubber mats for the winter. However, the problem is, we cant decide on the 250 or the 300h. The car barely gets driven, itll do about 3k miles a year and I cant really justify the extra 4k (after discount) for a 300h. We're thinking of a Mesa red/Rose red combo with NAV and ML. Any issues with the 300h or the 250?

Being a detailing enthusiast I can tell you a few things. I own a Merc C Class and a Lexus RX F Sport. The Lexus paint is softer and easier to mark. It needs great care and is very delicate. Some marks are natural, you will get them from stone chips and basically driving around as there are microscopic particles in the air such as dust which WILL mark your car. Its all natural. The only way to remove swirls is by machine polishing and apply a hard coat on top to keep swirls/scratches to a minimum. I found that WOLFS HARD BODY is very good and greatly regarded. I bought mine from Lexus Stockport as well.

why dont you compare the NEW IS to the BMW? then youll see what Lexus is about. IMHO, the previous gens were a bit of a misfit

You think the xenons on the RX400h are bright? you should really come over and see the LED's on my F Sport!

What the reviewers mean by the drone is when the revs hit max and stay there when accelerating hard. Its pretty much unnoticeable in reality but they always comment on it as all they do is 0-60 comparisons all the time and rag the car to its limits

  Right basically if you kerb your wheels and need them fixing you have 4 options:1 - Visit Lexus, get them to paint the kerbed wheels. 99.9% chance they wont be able to match the exact colour. They will say something like "we will paint both wheels on one side to get them matching". Obviously there wont be a huge difference but itll be noticeable. This is because there is no specific colour code. 2 - Visit Lexus and get them to paint "ONLY" the kerbed wheels. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. Make sure they dont touch the other ones AT ALL! As I said before, 99.9% chance they will naff it up so to speak. On the day, complain to the manager and get him to replace all the wheels that THEY painted! 3 - Visit Lexus and get them to paint all 4 wheels in the same colour. Good option but slightly stupid if theres only 1 or 2 wheels which are kerbed. 4- Visit an independent specialist. They are better at finding a colour match BUT if they do a shoddy job, thats YOUR responsibility. The main problem I discovered when my Lexus dealer supposedly "fixed" on my brand new RX450h F Sport was that the wheels are a PITA. Now what happened to me was that one wheel was kerbed when taking my car off the trailer. They said theyll sort it in 2 days since the wheel needs to be baked. 2 days later, their workmanship is top notch. No kerb rash anymore and actual painting on the wheel was first class. No problems in that regard, or in any other regard to be honest BUT the colour of the wheel was different. They said "we cant match it as there isnt a specific colour code". I asked for a replacement and they were fine with that. Sorted in the end, took a month for the wheel to arrive though from Japan but I guess thats not their fault. Service has been very good. At Lexus, loyalty actually means something! Tyres are still wet with dressing though. Hopefully, the pic shows the difference in colour between the front and back wheel. The back is the original, the front has been painted by LEXUS

no specific colour code. The f sport wheels have two paints mixed together. Its practically impossible to get a match as well.

Anyone know the wheel colour code for the F Sport wheel. Its proving to be damn hard to find and miraculously, one wheel is a different colour to the rest. How weird is that!
