  1. Isnt it difficult to keep it off the brakes? bloody risky isnt it? Not if you spray it on your cloth first duh Well try doing your ISF wheels with a rag and wd40 and tell me how long it takes to do every single spoke including the insides. Im guessing 20 minutes a wheel.
  2. Spot on my friend. No paint code for the F Sport wheels. They literally mix 2 paints up and spot check. Its hard to get right but DJP's wheels have been properly matched. Sometimes I wonder if they are the same wheels or if they just replaced them!
  3. Last time I tries poorboys wheel sealant, it took ages to apply! Car Chem wheel armour is much easier, just spray on and buff
  4. Why not Mesa red with red interior - Go on be a bit different!
  5. Sheffield is pretty good TBH. I happened to view a car there and they were all friendly. However, I would say give them a deposit, get the work done before delivery or collection - if the work isnt up to scratch, give the car back, they cant say anything. You could always get a professional detailer for £200-500 to work their magic on the whole car after
  6. That was the Ford Kuga..........I believe now BMW have rushed out the feature also..........MB next, then maybe Lexus? Except its slightly stupid. Try carrying a 50kg box and wiggling a leg under the bonnet. And it does take some serious wiggling + it takes a while to open the tailgate! I dont even get the key out of my pocket, just hold the button while its in the pocket! I have tried it, it was tested and a whole panel of employees gave thier views on the system a long time before production and if your walking up to the car with both hands full of shopping bags (50KGs? not sure where you go shopping? ) and its raining/dark/strange car park whatever just waggling your foot under the rear bumper works just fine, trust me it does! BTW maybe your problem was wiggling your leg under the bonnet when it should have been the boot? :winky: And how do you press the button in your pocket while carrying 50kg in both hands.......maybe we shouldn't ask....hidden talents eh? I meant the boot. I carry 50k with one hand and a shoulder :D a bit like Schwarzenegger in Commando!
  7. A little perspective is need though. BMW sold nearly 45k 3 series in the UK in 2013 alone, another 41k 1 series models. TOTAL Lexus UK sales touched just 9k units. Your chances of seeing a Lexus on the road is low, full stop. Neither does BMW, Audi or Mercedes. And £36k for the Luxury? Its more like £30k? IS300h Luxury is £30995, if you add Nav (£1995) and Leather (£1400) and Met Paint (£610), you're up to £35k. Elec seats comes with the more expensive leather option, includes ventilation and heated seats. Its standard on the F-Sport (without memory, optional) and Premier models (memory std). Sticker price - no one pays sticker price do they? A 3k discount is worth mentioning + whatever freebies you get thrown in.

  11. I see you are in Yorkshire. If the car is at Lexus Bradford, I would either speak to Jason Gregory or just walk away because the manager and other sales staff are awful and WILL NOT sort anything out. Leeds is another story, they are very very good!
  12. Power is poor? We dont all need an ISF mate! You know what I meant mate , I meant across the range they could do with an extra 50 bhp . It would make a massive difference to the cars .I actually didn't want an isf , wasn't bothered , I wanted a more powerfull Is . I would have been very happy with an is350 but as you know there not available . I get what you mean but of course the 2 litre 4 pot turbo is coming out this year and will most likely make it to the IS. It should have somewhere between 240-270hp. Although to be honest, I never felt that the 300h or 250 were particularly slow. They just need the guts revved out of them unlike the turbo's nowadays
  13. Mine ran for 7 years. It was on a 54 plate and I had it changed in 2011.
  14. Yes, they are powder coated. Forgot to mention that. Theyre painted on top of the powder coating and touch wood, no corrosion on my alloy wheels at all, and yes, they havent been washed in 3 months. And theres no protection on them either because the dealer said theyre going to refinish all 4 of my alloys to match as one is the wrong colour - was refurbed as there was damage during delivery.
  15. You shouldn't have too much dust with the hybrid anyway? I would think regenerative braking should help here a lot, but again, this will depend on driving style. Also, am wondering if it's a grey alloy, or coating only on these rims? Would hate to think how it looks curbed with coating scratched. Its a painted alloy. So basically, if you kerb it, the paint comes off and it looks white! And the IS brakes are all very dusty!
  16. I also use valet pro bilberry at a 1:5 dilution ratio, works well. I seal my alloys with car chem wheel armour. Costs about £8 for 500ml and comes in a spray bottle. Just spray on and wipe and it lasts for like like 3 months easily.
  17. Ive got Dunlop SP Sport 270 on mine. My car is heavier than yours and I dont change tyres in the winter but currently Ive done 10k miles and have 5-6mm left all around. Fronts seem to be wearing quicker. Reason for Pirelli Scorpion Verde having higher mileage rating is a harder compound and higher load rating.
  18. You may think its worth it till you realise how many scratches the car has on it a few years later or in the summer!
  19. Lexus vehicles in America have a remote start button on their fobs. It turns the car on without unlocking it to warm the car up.
  20. This is a tricky one im afraid. The fact that the alarm didn't go off indicated that there was technically "no break in" so to speak. Either the car wasnt locked properly or the thieves had a key. Your best bet is just to argue with them as much as possible and hopefully, your parents or neighbours have CCTV so can prove it was a break in in some way or another.
  21. That's not really what I was after. I like the easy access feature but there are occasions when it becomes something undesirable for a very short time, and I suggested the example of getting out of the car to assist someone in the rear seat to get out. This can be difficult if their feet have become pinned in the footwell by the seat having moved to the rear. I was hoping that this might be prevented as a one-off by something quick and easy, and which reverts back when re-starting the car. I can't find anything like this in the manual but the people in this forum are soooooo clever! Oh right I see. I misunderstood your question, my apologies. As far as I am aware, there is no way to turn it off and have it revert back when the car is turned on. However, you could always speak to your dealer to see what they have to say about it. They might be able to program it in or something!
  22. The 250 is faster from my test drives where my salesman was kind enough to let me go for it! I got a 0-60mph time of 7.6 seconds on it compared to 8.2 seconds on the 300h, bearing in mind that both vehicles were on premium Super unleaded fuel. 300h has instant torque and this is what makes it "feel" faster and it has amazing in gear acceleration. However, the 250 seems slower due to the smooth V6 and less torque, but I did find it to be faster in reality. Does need to be floored though!
  23. Im used to the BIG AMERICAN feeling in a car so I prefer having something larger but the IS300h is a great car. Not too sure about performance though as the IS250 is faster. 300h does have more useable torque though so its not something you'd notice! The NEW Merc C Class looks good but only in Sport trim which I know as a fact will have a terrible ride like the new CLA!
