The wire from diodes is connected to the wire which is live when you apply brakes. And you are correct you do not need dual filament holders unless you want them as rear lights as well.

I have not long since renewed with M&S insurance through compare the market, I have 9+ yrs no claims, fully comp with keycare, breakdown cover (home start ect) and windscreen cover for £300 per year. And i got a free oleg meerkat :) -

You would be better off looking on e-bay, auto trader, pre-loved and gumtree. The only people allowed to sell on the forum's are Gold members, which limits your chances. Most forum members also seem to keep their cars once bought. You will find one, just be patient and the right will turn up.
