  1. They do look cool, I still prefer the later wheels though (but I am biased )
  2. The 'get you home' wheel/tyre in my SC430 is a Bridgestone Temporary Use T145/70R 17 106M. It stands up in the boot, at the rear, to allow the roof to close down into the boot space, so it's the width limitation I think. I'm not sure anything bigger will fit in, due to the constraint at the bottom of the boot.
  3. Hi Bruce, wass there mmeant to be a link? I can't see one. On spare wheels the only one that will fit well easily in the boot is the 'get you home' reduced speed one. If you try a full size one, you won't get the roof down. Paul.
  4. Spotted a late model in central London last week, but you're right not many around now. I will probably try some crystals, as my garage space has now been given to my classic, so the SC is spending more time outside, which is not ideal :(
  5. For iPod connectivity I'm using the dension kit, see this post: - http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/74681-ipodiphone-link-by-vaistech-soundlinq2-sl2i-up/
  6. I'm pretty sure mine is the door rubbers as if I put down the window and then bring it back up, it comes up wet :( Boot is totally dry.
  7. I get exactly the same when I leave the car outside in the rain, no problems under cover. I was thinking the door window rubbers were leaking as there is a water noise as I pull off. Was planning to look at this in the summer!
  8. Lexus dealers have a 'Essential Care' service plan you can use for low mileage cars. Given them a call, and also negotiate on price. It's always worked for me, just tell them you'll go to an independent, or they can have the business at a reasonable price. I live in Surrey so don't know anyone in your area. I've also found their fixed pricing to be exactly that, you pay what they quote, and they've never 'found' extra items on my car. http://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/lexus-servicing/#/LexusServicePlans
  9. Wow....good result!
  10. I have never seen this, and have had my SC for several years.
  11. Fair point my Dysons are pretty bullet proof....
  12. I learnt something here, Lexii are more reliable than vacuum cleaners :)
  13. With mine it's the potholes mainly, on a smooth surface it's fine, but if the road gets bumpy so does the ride! Out of interest what's the weblink for the US forum?
  14. They discount labour on older cars to try and keep you past the warranty period, makes sense to me but really peeves the newer owners :)
  15. Yep agreed, very good looking and great wheels....
  16. I had a critical care service done at Motorline Lexus at Tunbridge Wells. They always quote, and charge exactly, what they say. They have never 'found' extra stuff. When the recall came out they called me and offered a courtesy car. I haven't had it done yet, it can wait till the spring service, but I am fully confident it will be done well. (And 'No' I don't know anyone there, just a great main dealer garage, you can also negotiate on price a bit;) )
  17. Hum, mine is 11 years old and on Goodyears (not RF) have to say the suspension is about the worst I've encountered on a performance car. I've had it checked by Lexus and they say it's OK. Will follow this thread with interest :)
  18. Have you asked Lexus? If it's been done by a main dealer they should know.

    Sc430

No, I very much doubt it as they draw very little current and should only be active with the ignition anyway. There are a number of other posts about battery drain, I used to have issues when I first bought the car, but after putting a new battery in I've had no further problems, and a lot of niggling little things also went away. I leave the SC for days on end without use and never have problems.

    Sc430

I get this from my Nokia hands free kit, do you have anything similar fitted? If not are there any warning lights illuminated, tyre pressure warning is very common?
  21. Yep mine is a 2002 with 45k, and I had it done last year. Probably better safe than sorry.
  22. For early model SC430s (2001ish) it is 10 years or 100,000 miles, I did a lot of investigation with Lexus garages to confirm this. Had mine done at Lexus Tunbridge Wells, it was around £400.
  23. No problem in the winter, you have heated seats and all the other mod cons. As Peter says, snow button helps.
