I get around 25MPG poodling about, and around 30MPG on a long run across France. You can easily knock it down to low 20s with a heavy right foot, but I've never seen it go any lower than that
Mine is an early 2002 and I get the cheaper tax.
Suspension on mine is a bit hard, but nothing as bad as I was led to believe. It's not a track car, so don't expect Porsche/Lotus levels of handling :)
Only faults I've had are with the Tyre Pressure Management System (TPMS). Warning lights when the sensors fail, which are apparenlty every 5 years or so. I've replaced mine and all works perfectly now. Others have disabled this feature, but I see it as safety.
Other than that, I've added a Dension iPod adapter which s great.
Hope you get one, it's a great vehicle. £8k should get you a reasonable example. I've got the later wheels on mine which makes the car look a bit more 'current'.
