  1. I have a 2001 too, the wheels have been switched to the 2009 style which I think looks better, but I love your colour :)
  2. I was told by a Lexus dealer, can't remember which one, that there was no conversion necessary. I have driven many times in France at night and have never been flashed.
  3. I think most of us have the 'get you home' wheel/tyre and proper tyres. Lexus owners in the UK complained so much it was done for free many years ago.
  4. I have the 2009 SC430 wheels, they look pretty good.
  5. Somebody, not me, fitted the 2009 wheels to my car. I think they're a huge improvement on the originals.

Hi, see this link. I am still using the Dension solution. It's pretty good, but obviously more expensive! http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=74681
  7. I drive to Western France every year and get around 30MPG at a steady 130KPH. Drop the speed off a bit and MPG goes up, don't do that for long though, what would be the point :)
  8. Leave mine for weeks sometimes, always restarts. Did have a duff battery when I first bought it though...
  9. Mine was i a Lexus dealer this week for its MOT and they didn't mention it....
  10. I have a 2002, had it for 2 years, no major problems at all. Would thoroughly recommend it. Nothing really to look out for, car is pretty bullet proof. Certainly push for more money off, as the V8 is juicy (probably better than a SL500 though :) ), don't expect to break into the 30 MPG unless you're doing a long run, and expect sub 20 MPG around town.
  11. Yes A/C will use slightly more fuel, but I think you need to get the dampness out. I think a long run down to the South of France in the summer should do it :) I go to western France every year and the SC is fantastic for it.
  12. In AUTO mode my screen clears really well, also if you turn on the rear/front heated screens you'll notice the fan speed increases and gives a better demist. Has your car been sitting a while and got a bit damp perhaps, this might mean a bit more moisture to get rid of in your first few weeks.? I don't use SPORT mode, plenty quick enough in standard. Agree a rear wipe would be good, but not sure how that would fold into the boot :)
  13. No, where was this? Or were you talking to Chelle?
  14. They never made one, but I bought a DVD off eBay that is fine...sorry can't find the link..
  15. Hi Chelle, no the side windows don't come up with the roof down. 20 MPG round town is about right, you can get around 30 on a long run....btw suspension on these beasts aint the best, not for our earlier cars anyway :(
  16. I'd ask a Lexus main dealer.
  17. Had mine for nearly two years with no problems. I have a 160GB classic iPod in the bottom lockable part of the centre console. Bear in mind the main limitations are the Mark Levinson kit, which can't display full track info (song names etc..) as you would on a newer car. What you get is the display showing MD1 and some track numbers. The steering wheel controls all work for up/down tracks and for switching mode and volume etc... There are some key sequences for playlists etc, but I just use the iPod before I start driving. Personally I think it's a good solution for an older car. If you were closer I'd say come and have a look.
  18. Agree, bad battery causes lots of issues. Borrow one for a test if you can.
  19. I have the later Lexus SC430 wheels, and a personalised plate. Uses standard tyres with a spacesaver spare. Make the car look 8 years newer :)
  20. Looks beautiful, very similar to mine. Just one thing, has it had its 10 year cam belt change? If not you're in for a £500 bill very soon. Just did mine, with a full major service and a couple of little things that was a £1,000 bill.
  21. Agree they are pretty bullet proof. For iPod I have the Dension gear, see this link for full details, had it for a while now and it's pretty good considering the age of my car. http://www.lexusowne...ion#entry765307
  22. Just so you are aware these guys are now shipping to the UK, they won't provide just one bag if you have the spare tyre. I've ordered a set (around $150/£100 including shipping). Will tell you what they're like when they arrive. http://www.roadtripl...age-Bags/Detail
  23. I had lots of strange issues when my battery failed, once replaced everything fixed itself. See if you can borrow one first.
  24. Sounds good to me, I'm on the Surrey/Kent/Sussex border, so all these places are good for me.
