  1. I went the Dension route, it's been in for a while and works perfectly. See this link for full details: - http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/74681-ipodiphone-link-by-vaistech-soundlinq2-sl2i-up/?hl=dension#entry765307
  2. Just for clarity both my master and valet key are black...
  3. Sorry no real idea on a Lexus, but on a cheap little Renault it was about £80 for the key and an hours labour at the Renault garage to program it :(
  4. I have just had a very similar problem, and as the car was in for the recall, I asked them to look at it. They disconnected the battery for the recall, and when they reconnected to investigate the heater problem it had gone, along with a TPMS warning also. So I'd definitely try battery disconnection for a while, I think it's 40 mins to 'forget' everything.
  5. I think you are using the valet key. It only does the ignition. You need the main key to do ignition, glove box and centre console. You can tell the difference easily as the valet key has 2 buttons, and the main key has 3. If you don't have both, it's going to be expensive I'm afraid, and I think it can only be done by a Lexus main dealer.
  6. Ask away, we're all friendly here :)
  7. My MK1 suspension is the worst I've had on pretty much any car, I prefer my 1966 Humber for ride quality! That said it is effortless and great fun on foreign motorways, I wouldn't change it :)
  8. My 2002 car has the later SC alloys, they update the look and fit perfectly if you can find some.
  9. I spent £1,000 on timing belt, water pump (always do the pump whilst the belt is off), full major service, including aircon repump. Since then I've only had 'critical care service' done which was about £200. For peace of mind I'd go for main dealer, but others on this forum will disagree :)
  10. Same colour combo as mine...Timing belt is 100k or ten years, had mine done 2 years ago. Do negotiate with Lexus main dealers, they want your business :)
  11. Interested in the sticky brakes problem, I do think mine does this sometimes, how do we fix it?
  12. Please list the company here, so we can all find it if we need it :)

    I squeeze my teenagers (16 & 19) in, they don't seem to mind :)
  14. My passenger mirror also stumbles to work all the time, interested to know how you get on.
  15. I am paying under £200 with Admiral on a 2002 SC430. I have a 6000 mile limit on the car, 12 years no claims, and £500 excess. When I checked I could have got cheaper (around £159 with Zurich). I got my prices through confused, com.

It's always great to see all the different options, makes each one unique :) Mine is the fairly common silver/black.
  17. I don't take the Lexus out in ice/snow, so there would be no point. My wife's Rav4 does the dirty stuff :)
