  1. Success! Sat in the car this morning and was greeted by a nice blue sat nav screen and a Qi code to scan. Deleted the car in the app I had set up via registration number yesterday and scanned the barcode. I had to go through some of my personalisation settings again, linked the key to my profile and now everything seems to be OK. Nothing in the hybrid coaching section yet, but hopefully that will populate once I drive the car.
  2. Quick update. Just checked the app and it now shows the vehicle status - doors locked etc. but no hybrid coaching yet…..
  3. I picked up my new NX yesterday and I have the exact same issue and behaviour in the App, unknown status, no trips etc. When I picked the car up, they could not get the car to link up when they went through the handover, but said this happens sometimes and should be ok in a day or two. Today I managed to link up to the Lexus servers via the Lexus Link + app, so I thought all was OK, but if I got to the head unit and click on Lexus it says an error has occurred, try again later. Is this likely to come online in the next day or so, or do I need to uninstall and start again? Thanks
  4. I noticed this the other day too when following an NX. It was normal daylight and I was surprised when I saw the taillights come on with the brake lights. I thought maybe this had been ‘tweaked’ somehow, but maybe that is how it works…. 🤔 Pick mine up next week, so will find out for sure then 😃
  5. The only time I ever use the EV button in the 7 years I have had my current car is when I want to take the car out of the garage to wash it and I do not want to invoke the warm up process. As others have said, just let the car decide what is best. It will usually run with the engine off at low speeds most of the time on its own, subject to the variables listed above. Counting down the days now until I pick up my NX. Wonder how long it will take for me to get used to not getting 70-80 MPG 🤣
  6. Thank you, that's encouraging to hear. I guess I am a bit wary of causing damage to the 12v battery if it was to go flat, not sure how much damage it causes if it was to only happen once. I have been used to doing it on my Prius due to it being the original battery and not wanting to have to fork out for a new one before I changed the car 😬 The charger I have is a smart one so is designed to be left on for long periods of time, but I am a bit of a worrier about leaving things on that are not normally, especially this time with the car being brand new. Thanks to everyone else to their tips and advice, it's very much appreciated 😀
  7. Thanks Colin, that’s good to know. The car will be garaged, so I will connect it to the points under the bonnet. If the negative lead doesn’t reach the place stated in the manual is there an alternative place you would recommend?
  8. Rather than start a new thread, I thought I would tag onto this one. I am hopefully picking up my new NX350h AWD next week, but I am going on holiday a few weeks after for nearly four weeks. I am familiar with using a smart charger as I use one on my Prius when I go away and have it linked to a smart plug so it comes on twice a week for 8 hours per day. My question is, on my Prius it was easy as the battery is under the bonnet, but the NX is in the boot. Do I have to connect the charger to the terminals in the boot or can I use the jump points under the bonnet? Or will I be OK as it will be a new battery rather than my original 7 year old battery I currently have? Thanks.
  9. Or if you adjust the sensitivity up one, then back does the same thing... single wipe
  10. Or as my friend lovingly puts it, "No pockets in shrouds" 😆
  11. That's interesting seeing as you have the 'latest' at the moment model. Think I would be happier knowing that I would have two years before a second generation was on the horizon, just don't want to jump (after dithering for so long) only for a second generation to appear next year... hopefully pretty unlikely 🤔 They say Q2, so I will have to wait and see how I feel about it then...
  12. Great changes, but still seems odd there are physical “facelift” changes, not even new alloys. Not sure now how far a second generation is …
  13. I had an early Renault Zoe back in 2015 and the range on that practically halved in the winter and that was with a heat pump. It's the same with our smaller Hybrid batteries, they are more inefficient in the winter too and take on less charge, therefore give worse economy, just not on such a large scale. It's a sacrifice I am willing to take for the great smooth driving experience.
  14. You'll be surprised where some people stick their phones/satnavs on the windscreens 🤔 I have seen them right in front of the driver before, but I guess it depends on how tall the previous driver(s) were and how close they sat to the windscreen. Some people prefer to use their own sat nav and some like to have their phone in a cradle and not use the built in bluetooth system. Have you tried something like methylated spirits to see if that cuts through the marks?
  15. I have been hanging off jumping into a new UX as I think it’s getting near to the end of its lifespan in its current guise, but then they release another update a little over a year after the last one with the 300h which is great, but oddly no visual styling changes, not even wheels to make it stand out. I was thinking 2026 for the second generation, but now I’m not so sure… it could be longer than that now? I’ve seen the new C-HR, but decided against it. It wasn’t so much the price, but rather it’s an awful lot of money for a Toyota that you are going to see everywhere, whereas for the same or a bit more you can have a more exclusive Lexus. then again now the Gen 5 Prius is coming to the UK I may go down that route. Decisions decisions….
  16. I use this one and it works a treat, had it over three years now. Smart Charger Whenever I am on holiday I put it on a smart plug and have it doing eight hours 'charge/maintaining' three times a week. I am still on my original 12V battery from new (2017). I also carry a small jump back in the centre console... just in case..
  17. The reason being it is a Hybrid and not an EV. The battery and electric motor are designed to assists and work together with the main source of power (ICE) and give great economy. Although the 'EV' speed is around 30mph, the engine can be off for over 50% of some journeys when coasting/descending hills etc. which is amazing. I wouldn't have anything but a Hybrid/Plug-in Hybrid at the moment - Lexus/Toyota of course 😀
  18. Maybe an obvious question, but I notice it shows the Audio Source is off. Have you tried with the source on as it would not know what to adjust if it was off?
  19. The most efficient way to better economy is not to rely on running on electric to get up to speed, but to accelerate 'normally' through the EV light zone to your desired speed using the ICE whilst keeping the power meter in the Eco zone. My Prius has a driving assistant gauge within the Hybrid System Indicator which is a fluctuating 'guidance' line which helps you eek the most out of a gallon. Whenever you pull away that gauge jumps to near the end of the Eco zone, you then press the throttle pedal to any position within that guidance line for maximum efficiency. After a while if becomes quite natural and very satisfying to get a good eco score 😆 Larger light blue = guidance line Turquoise = throttle position
  20. That interesting, so it looks like it does have a tether like I mentioned in my post below, so that would point to someone stealing it. If you look at the OP's original post, you can see the hole in the bottom right hand corner where it fits. 🫣
  21. When I test drove the NX I found it to be totally soulless and lacking any kind of personality. The UX on the other hand has just got such a nice feel and the dashboard is much more interesting, even more so now on the 300h with the digital instruments and new shifter. The NX is very good value though, especially with the discounts available so you get a lot of car for the money, but I would much rather have a UX over an NX. All personal preference and needs of course 🤔
  22. Don't they normally have a small tether so they can hang down instead of coming off completely? I know one of my cars had that in the past.
  23. The Americans always seem to add an extra year to their new models and make a big deal about it🤔
  24. It’s probably one of the pre production ones that I saw earlier in the year. I think it’s too early for a full production one, but you never know …
