The judder/pulsate you mention, does it happen through the pedal just before you come to a stop ? water leak in boot..take light units out and clean muck out of gully. Then use some sealer around the white push in lamp locator pins, and maybe the cable as it goes through the body .

Excellent news you bought the kalahari sand vehicle 👏🏻👏🏻 I liked that vehicle as it was a rare colour, we chatted about it on here a few weeks back . Some people are over the moon with the copy sat/nav disc, I also bought one back in 2018 but it started playing up, the seller gave me a refund .

Congratulations on your new purchase ….got a photo of her ? Now to be very honest with you the SC430 sat/nav is not that good compared with a tomtom or google maps on your phone. If you want a newer sat/nav disk it can be found in the boot , right hand side, pull grey cover off, slide the left switch over and press the button. The disc will slide out and if like my 2007 SC, the disc will be around the same age . New disk from Lexus several hundred pounds. a copy disc off eBay ..hit and miss if they work ! It does appear to have its own part number. The code reader had the ability to clear codes as well, so clear code and see if it comes back on again. It has been known for the electronics to have a little glitch and throw up a code when it doesn’t mean it . if it does come back, that camshaft sensor needs to be fix first before looking at other stuff .

I had an JDM 3 door Rav4 years ago and found the kilometre Speedo irritating. With the SC there are more things no uk spec…speedo/trip in KPH,sat/sav not uk comparable , no rear fog lamps built into bumper, radio different FM band. Yet you do get an immaculate condition vehicle on the underside …..so it’s swings and roundabouts !

You’ve open up a can or worms now ! This was a disagreement on the LW site Richard said leave them off Nick said they should be refitted ! I agree the dust deflectors should be refitted, yet if you only plan to keep the car a few more years maybe dust and metallic debris won’t cause problems with the ABS sensor….your gamble 👍🏻 No need to replace ABS sensor if it’s working okay . deflectors…… ..and sold separately. https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-sc430-rear-wheel-bearing-dust-deflector/

2006 sc430 rubbing sound from rear wheels

The rubbing sound is the handbrake shoes back plate rubbing on the back of the disc. The disc could be very corroded causing it to rub, but I suspect it’s the backplate distorted due to age. I've ground a small amount of metal off the lip,on the back plate on two SC430’s and a IS300 with good results afterwards. see lip next to handbrake shoes, rubs around at the bottom.

Hour per side for fronts, bit longer on the rear as all the boot lining has to come out first . pads 1/2hr.
