  1. some nice reading and pictures here also: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=73297
  2. fair point - maybe the garage quoted for just the belt and nothing else or does then include tensioner and bits to go with it
  3. yes - heating on a radiator will make is softer and will help - dont try to get it all on in one go - start at top and then slowly work your way round - an extra pair of hands will help
  4. HI norman I have just bought another steering wheel cover for my Mark 4 which i have just purchased It was from Uk and the size is 37-39cm The fit was very tight but i managed to do it myself without warming it up hope this helps
  5. she is a minter i sold my mark 4 for a 430 in november but have just gone back because the ls430 is not smooth or quite enough and this one is in better condition than my previous 400
  6. i just picked mine up - must of been shortest drive home - a mere 3 minutes and fuel light was on!!
  7. sounds like a good plan: hike lpg prices = makes less appealing + longer to recoup conversion costs = less fellows having conversions done = less business for the lpg converters = less lpg converted cars on the road = less lpg fuel sales
  8. when i rang him - he said he had bought an LS430 which he was going to convert?
  9. that should be fine - i normally used to use even thinner one - 0w-30 and yes 6 litres is right
  10. i bought a magnetix type and it keeps falling off? - i was after a genuine lexus one buy cant find one - the lox ones look similiar so can we buy them?
  11. totally agree I went to view on the other day and it looked so good even when not valeted Heres my mark 3 many moons ago: http://i789.photobucket.com/albums/yy178/SAHIL0786/LX2.jpg
  12. for me the mark 4 (owned 2 years) was such a pleasure to drive - so smooth, so reliable and driving it was second nature with the feather light steering. The 430 on the other hand i havent been able to get used to - the tire grumble for me is very uncomfortable, the steering heavier - it just doesnt feel like a lexus - gizmos like fridge, rear massaging seats, blind never got used - its not ugly but it doesnt have the sleek looks of the 400. I have just had to replace the lower balls joints (ok maybe wear and tear) and just yesterday one of the front parking sensors has gone - so overall not a very positive experience Im hoping ill be back in 400 next week and hopefully i can start enjoying my motoring again - this 430 has given me sleepless nights ever since i had it
  13. mark you have been there and will understand how i fell - the ls430 is more expensive but i just dont enjoy driving it, so i cant see any reason not to get a Mark 4 - which is cheaper to buy and ofcourse the smile factor is non-compareable
  14. i had the mark 3 and the mark 4 and bought the LS430 and wished i hadnt The LS430 certainly has more gadgets but more to go wrong - its noisier and not as smooth after 3 months of trying to convince myself to stick with i have decided to go back and therfore am looking for a decent LS400 My advise based on my experiece buy an LS400 (mark 4 is the best)
  15. "steve2006" who is also the club guru will be able to answer your question - he has had a celsior for many years - just hang about - hes on here regular
  16. I think it really boils down to personal preference and in your position i would drive both and decide - from smoothness, quitness and build quality point of view there is no difference - other differences include: Mark 4 has newer VVTi engine which is marginally more economical Mark 4 doesnt have the failed heaed seats and black dash problems like the mark 3 Mark 4 has xenon headlamps where as the mark 3 has normal bulbs Mark 4 seats are softer Mark 4 doesnt suffer from the coked throttle body (resulting in stalling when slowing down after a run) some early Mark 3s had this problem Mark 4 has electronically controlled throttle which means throttle is more sensitive and therefore car feels lighter my preference is the mark 4 even though i drive a 04 plate 430!
  17. That's what the rules say but there are ways around it - he could quite easily have said that there was a problem with the car and had to withdraw it ok - that explains it - waste of his and everybodies times really - why not just decide on a price and stick it on as a "BIN"
  18. taken from that site "You can't end a listing less than 12 hours before the end of the listing if the item has a winning bid:"??
  19. I dont think it did. Mike are you saying it didnt sell? - why? there was no reserve on it so must of gone to the highest bidder or was the auction ended prior to finishing?
