  1. That's what the rules say but there are ways around it - he could quite easily have said that there was a problem with the car and had to withdraw it ok - that explains it - waste of his and everybodies times really - why not just decide on a price and stick it on as a "BIN"
  2. taken from that site "You can't end a listing less than 12 hours before the end of the listing if the item has a winning bid:"??
  3. I dont think it did. Mike are you saying it didnt sell? - why? there was no reserve on it so must of gone to the highest bidder or was the auction ended prior to finishing?
  4. have a look at this post and my pics: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=80946 I bought it from the USA and it was a really really sung fit - had to warm it up first to soften it and the put it on - slowly bit by bit - needed 2 of us - one to hold it in place and prevent it coming off and the other to gradually slip it over - very comfortable and very easy to steer with just one hand! Alas i have had to get used to wooden steering wheels on my Mark 4 and LS430 - they are more slippery therfore you cannot steer with one hand hope this helps
  5. Are you MAD telling us junkies there's a cheap 99 LS 400 on ebay dontcha know us junkies will be looking (& possibly bidding) on it. Stupid Boy it doesnt really junp out at you that one - not very well described plus looks unloved - dusty dash, seats and carpets plus the side light appears to have water in it?? nice colour though
  6. some pointers here: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls430/376444-step-by-step-timing-belt-replacement-ls430.html
  7. Hence the Eagle eyed LOC member with super eyesight that noticed the wings (Eagle? Wings? that's very cleaver pure accident) were a different colour. I remember when I had good eyesight together with other body parts that these days need lotions and potions to keep it all together. If I knew then what I know now I would never have got old I would have stayed around the mid 30s. Mike Well he should of done and he should of mentioned it in the ad since it was recorded on the V5 according to him
  8. did he also tell you that it was accident repaired? - thats what he told me
  9. i started off with a mark 3 5 years ago - then had a mark 4 for 2 years I now have an LS430 - with no intention of upgrading to the 460 But i still look at the lexi for sale every single day - just to see whats for sale - condition and prices - i have dedicated shortcuts on my desktop and for me its a ritual i do first thing and many times throughout the day there is a very nice gold Mark 4 on bidding at the moment - it even has a LOC sticker so probably someone from here
  10. wow mark - wasnt expecting that - i suppose you could you could look at the LS430 and say yep been there and got the T shirt
  11. Hi I have come across this problem and i remember there was a post on here where a member detailed the reason. If i remember correctly he said that the bluetooth technology in these cars is the old - he mentioned push/pull - this is the reason why you cannot do it and to solve the problem he bought an old nokia phone which was compatible and was able to upload the contaccs that way if i find the post i will post a link
  12. hi i know where you are coming from My 430 has lower profile tyres and is noisier than the 400 - part of the reason is in the 400 you hear the engine revs where as in the 430 you dont hear any engine noise - all you hear is the tyre rumble. But heres the thing - whilst i have come to accept my LS430 to some extent everytime i see a 400 i wish i had one - the 400 just appears so sleek and smooth - the wheels like wings fluttering! i have come to the decision that if ever a low mileage mint example turns up ( ideally with LPG) i will go for it
  13. might be an idea if you get someone pull/push the fuel cap while you pull the cap release lever just incase the mechanism is stuck
  14. Yes thats the sat nav made by philips carin - was already fitted when i got the car Shine was using meguirs gold class Need to give the LS430 the same treatment once the weather improves
  15. Pictures of my Mark 3 many moons ago with clear over mats and fitted with complimentary steering cover from USA and here all polished up
  16. The company i used last time for my LS400 alloys doesnt seem to be around any more - can anybody recommend a company which will refurbish alloys on an exchange basis i.e they send a set out - you fit them - and then return yours to them. I am looking to refurbish my LS430 alloys Thank You
  17. sorry if this is off topic but when changing the boot struts on my LS430 - i noticed that after removing the struts the boot is astonishingley heavy - i couldn't lift it with one arm
  18. hi Dhp alloys and runflats and bridgstones are not a good combination and will give a hard noisy ride I have just got rid of bridgestones from my LS430 as they were too noisy and hard and replaced them with continentals. I have continentals on my Mark 4 aswell and was happy with them
  19. Just looked at that review and the Falken tyre they are reviewing is different from the Falken I have on my car. mine are Falken ZE912. Mike The original tyres on my LS430 were Dunlop SP270 - and they are still available. They were not bad but I found it hard to get more than 20K miles out of them. Michelin were the best so far 26K - I am trying Kumo at the moment. Bren I cant tell you what type of Dunlops were fitted to the 400 at production but according to those more learned than my self they aren't available any more and that the Falken ZE912 still made by Dunlop are the replacements. Mike just looked at the falkens and they are supposed to be noiser than the dunlops Im leaning towards the dunlops as found a good price at £600 for 4 The Falkens shown in the link are not the correct ones the replacements are completey different to those. These are the ones that I buy http://www.camskill....ise:_70dB/RS_GB Mike this is what im looking at: http://www.camskill.co.uk/m61b1474s315p106197/Dunlop_Tyres_Car_Dunlop_SportMaxx_GT_SP_Dunlop_Sport_Maxx_GT_-_245_45_R18_96Y_%28AO%29_MFS_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_F_Wet_Grip%3A_B_NoiseClass%3A_1_Noise%3A_68dB but having just changed the tyres to continentals - I dont want to rush in and spend more money if they dont make alot of difference
