  1. Yes Shahpor i went down to TonBridge wells Lexus dealer from Yorkshire 210ml was 14 k and my car runs well apart from the noisy tyres also something else i have noticed ( I have got the Lexus Warranty) the rear speakers sound a bit muffled when you move fadar to back speakers I have to turn volume up i cant say i noticed that on my 14 reg
  2. Yes Chris as an afterthought i did conclude that that may be the cause as it gets a bit faster 70 ish it like an Helicopter rotor and like a slapping noise I suppose there will be a void in the tyre where the air gets through I did ask the lad at the Tyre depot if i Should reinflate them higher but he said Catagorically No The Tyres are Bridgestone Potensa EA33
  3. Decided to trade in my 14 450h Premier for a 18 Gs450 Premier running very well but tyres are a bit noisy they are Bridestone Potenza the car had been stood awhile at Lexus Tonbridge wells so i took it to my local Tyre depot . They said the tyres are showing signs of perishing(maybe with it being stood) but the lad said when he rubbed hand over tyre the back tyres were concaved said at some time they have been over inflated and only running on the out sides of the tyre said i exoect that s why they noisy. As any one experienced this before because they are noisy.
  4. i dont think the spirit levels are on the gs450 its the long screwdriver im afraid
  5. Couple of years ago i was driving down road a car was parked on other side of road a bmw was coming in opposite directiion to me i had no where to go but kept straight line. His wing mirror hit mine i uttered a few expletives i looked in mirror saw his mirror swinging about on its wire . Mine was closed i thought " thats gone i will wager" then it suddeny opened up to its origional position no damage whatsover i thought at the time how cool is that
  6. Chris you are right it blinks 3 times when it enters Iniialising mode I have not had to do it on mine as yet but on my previous 2010 mk3 it said INITIAL on speedo but the OP said pressing button made no diference maybe he didnt get to the 3 blink mode i would think that if the TPS light is on a tyre is down and system working correct if triangle is on there is malfunction Just my 2 p worth
  7. You have to keep it pressed till it says Initilising then leave it to do its job you only have the tyre light on so a wheel is below the set prssure if it was a fault with a sensor triangle would be on as well as john said get all the tyres inflated to the pressure you want then go through the initalising proccedure Ign on Press button till INITALISING comes on dash then leave it alone till it goes out im not 100% sure if you press again but it tells you in book HTH Robert
  8. Maybe wants the tyre setting to new pressures with the button under dash
  9. As it happened I was going to have a new set of Goodyear Asymmetric 5s fitted by a tyre outfit I’d used before - and saw they were Agents for Alloygator. So a deal was struck! Len I had these on my last gs450 mk3 and they were super quiet but on the mk4 i have Dunlops and they are no were near as quiet How are you finding them Robert
  10. Lent did you fit the protectors yrself or at a tyre shop are they any good
  11. well done Vlad glad you got it working i will know what to do now if mine pops up with error mind i didnt even know these things were fitted
  12. Well stupid me Steven i checked in the boot and the cover over the battery it as 5 pres stud type clips only one was engaged so it must have been the cover rattling at the resonance caused by the wheel balance thanks all for your replies Robert
  13. I have a mk4 gs450h i have not done much mileage due to the covid situation I dont drive too fast maybe 70 + on motoway but have not had occasion to use motorway. 14. I think we buy Lexus for its realiabilty then worry when we buy it that it may break down I have had a 55 gs300 a 2010 gs450 and now a 64 gs 450 and had no real bother with any of them apart from consumable items so i woudnt bother too much
  15. mine went a few years ago and the part was just over £20 it consists of a long plastic rod the arm and a seal it is a modified part and lexus sheffield fitted in less than half hour I will see if i can dig out the pn num
  16. Nice result Joe nice to know about the source for the tyre sensors i would think at lexus the bill would be knocking on door of 500 notes for all 4 well done mate
  17. Thanks all for your replies much appreciated when i back out of my drive mine too feel like the grabbing you describe but it used to do it on the mk3 so thought it must be somethin g to do with the geometry On that car i had Goodyear eagles and they were whisper quiet i may go that route Thanks again Yes Mark mine do exactly same makes horrible noise on full lock
  18. First and foremost i would like to wish all our LOC members a very happy and prosperous New Year I am running Dunlops on my mk4 450h and they are about half worn but are now starting to sound a bit noisy maybe its the cold weather but was thinking would it be possible to change size to 245 45 18 instead of the 235 45 18 that i have on as it is a slightly higher tyre wall i could get a good deal on this larger size i just wondered if any member had tried it and would it invalidate the insurance Cheers all Robert
  19. was driving down very dark road other day i dont normaly go out much at night i noticed that the indicator stalk and wiper stalk were not illuminated is this the case as i am sure that it used to be i did change my battery a couple of months ago I amsure my 450h mk3 was illuminated does any one know if this is the case TIA Robert
  20. I have been out of circulation for a while due to PC going bang i had to get a repair done but shop had to close Regarding the fuel pump recall they had to take out rear seats to get to Low Pressure Fuel pump and replace it they also put in 30 pounds worth of fuel I have not noticed any difference in the running of car Service manager said some of the GS s and RX s had a bad batch of Fuel pumps that were bad and would have resulted in a shutdown of the pump leading to a bad situation if on the motorway at 70 plus but in truth my car is no different after the refit Robert
